Noticed when we bought our home a few years back that there were new gutters and downspouts, except for a key area around our side porch. One group told us "oh, you can't have gutters there based on blah blah blah." I was discouraged and went another rainy season without them, only to have water slapping off the sides and messing with the foundation around it. This group came out, sized it up quickly, explained how they would go about putting gutters on, and that it wouldn't be difficult. I think the group who said I couldn't have gutters on this part was speaking in code for: this is a small job and we don't want to do it. Fortunately, the Gutter Cover crew did. They were really booked out, so we put this on the calendar and waited a month or so. This was one area for improvement. After I signed on to have the work done, there was zero communication, no emails, follow ups, calendar reminders, nothing. I even forgot about it, so I gave them a call to check in and then I was put on the calendar for the following day. Not a big deal, but a confirmation email would've been nice. The work was done quickly, and while it's dusty and dry with no rain in sight, I'm sure they'll hold up well. One thing I want to add to close this out. It isn't the biggest job, and the name of the biz is Gutter Cover, so naturally they would want to sell me on those. The guy I visited with picked up quickly that it wasn't of interest to me at this time, and wasn't pushy or rude. I really appreciated that and it gave me confidence to book them.

I also had a few more quotes from other companies & they were so much more expensive, I decided to go with Ace. It took me a few months to be at a place where I was ready for the install. I called Cheryl and I had a install date about a week later. Unfortunately my install date (10/18/22) the temps were in the 20s. Cheryl was nice enough & professional enough to call and ask if the installers could start the job at 9:00 rather 7:00 AM when it would be a little more sunny & a little warmer. I had no issue with that & appreciated the call & request. At 9:00 AM the install team showed up & promptly got to work. They were diligent, professional, respectful, and got the job done. They also explained any issues with the 112 year old house and ways they could solve issues--and gave me choices. I appreciated that very much. All in all I am very happy with the work done, they also did a few things extra ... like filling in some gaps with aluminum flashing between bends in the roof line, so wind wouldn't blow rain between the gap & the gutter. They even added a few extra runs so every roof side had gutters--even though those extras were not in the quote. When it came time to pay (by check) the bill was exactly what they quoted. No surprises. No extras. Plus they carted away & cleaned up all the plastic gutters I took down. They even took the satellite dish I took off the roof, because I asked one of the workers in passing. Awesome! I am very satisfied customer. I'd highly recommend Ace Guttering & Siding!

Update 8/26/20 - after my original review I was contacted by Will Andersen, the owner of the…read morecompany. What a night and day difference from our initial impressions! Increasing my review from two stars to five, and that's only because six stars aren't an option! Will checked into what had happened with our original quote. Turns out the lack of follow up was due to a bad handoff of info when the estimator who we originally worked with was let go from the company, and our estimate had fallen between the cracks. Will sugarcoated nothing, and was straight with us on what had happened. Not only was he extremely apologetic for the situation, he was extremely determined to show us that our original experience is not what Andersen Contracting is about as a company. Will came out personally to rework the original quote, which we had in a matter of days. He was helpful in assisting us in planning the project, answered all of our questions, and went above and beyond in adjusting the quote as our scope of work evolved. Here's the kicker - over a period of weeks while it took us far, FAR too long to make our final selections and decisions, Will was nothing but patient and helpful... I'm embarrassed to admit he was far MORE patient with us than we were in our first dealings with his company. He checked in periodically to check on status and offer any assistance we might need, but was never pushy or pressuring. Great customer service, and I can't say enough good things about how well we've been treated. I'm pleased to report we've finally made our final selections and are ready to move forward with our project - and that we have now experienced the reasons why Andersen contracting has the stellar reviews they carry here and on other sites. I look forward to reporting back on the finished project and sharing pictures, and I know we're in good hands.
