The gym is great, plenty of cardio equipment and high quality weight machines to go around and a little added bonus- it has a good amount of natural light coming in. They offer a number of fitness classes and in particular they regularly schedule a number of really great Zumba classes with many of the best instructors in the area; try a class with Dillon, Leonora or Jess! The studio space is fantastic with great air flow, a bumpin' sound system and mirrors in the front and on the sides. They often run super affordable punch card specials (especially on or around a holiday) and their desk staff is always friendly and helpful. There is a locker room equipped with lockers, showers and even a basket with random items you may forget like shampoo or lotion. The atmosphere is positive and welcoming which is really important for me. The only downfall is that it's a bit of hike from Burlington; it would be awesome if they opened up a second location in the downtown area so I could ditch my Edge pass. Great space, great facilities and fun staff, check it out!

First up is the atmosphere: this is not your run of the mill fit club largely due to its bright environs (the floor to ceiling windows make up much of the wall space here); It's stylish, has decor, live plants which make it all seem very inviting. It is uber clean inside, no off aromas like some 24 hour place I know that brags about not being judgmental, but I wish they judged the cleanliness and aromas in their gyms. Anyway, there is a swimming pool (kept at a really comforting temperature) that also serves for aquatic exercise class, and some physical therapy sessions. The land type offerings include state-of-the-art, brand new and well maintained (think cleanliness here) equipment (there seems to be something for everyone with respect to equipment). Finally the people who work here are stellar in my estimation. They are kind, relaxed, professional, and the list could go on and on. It's just really un empty place. I'm so glad that I found it. The only downside if there could be one would be the hours that they are opened because it's basically 7 AM to 6 PM which can be somewhat limited for from some people's perspective. No biggie for me. I just love the place and highly recommend it!

They've expanded their mission and now offer both fitness and cycling classes at their studio. I took a fitness class this week, which was an hour long, and what I loved about it is that they focused on mobility, posture and form while lifting, and core strength. We spent the first 15 minutes warming up, stretching, and rolling out our muscles. I love that it was focused on form and mobility, unlike other fitness classes I've taken. I also took a spin class here and their spin studio is huge and beautiful! It had so many bikes! They also use headsets for their spin studio, which I had never used before. You can adjust the volume for your personal headset and listen to the music as loud as you like. This was so appreciated because I always have to use earplugs at other studios because the music is so loud. The bikes also have baskets for regular sneakers OR you can turn over the pedals and clip in with spin shoes, I've never seen that before, it's so cool! You can rent spin shoes here for $3. A couple things to note: they don't offer a free class for your first time in the studio, and most studios I've been to offer a free class to explore the studio and see if you're interested in their space. I'm curious if this will change as they become more established. They have class packs for their fit classes, and class packs for their spin classes, but they don't have combined class packs unless you get their unlimited studio pass, which I was a little bummed about because I had wanted to try both. I just purchased a day pass for each class - the fitness class drop in is $24 for an hour long class, and the spin class drop in is $22 for a 45 minute class. They also don't provide towels for their classes, which would be a nice addition. Most spin studios I've gone to provide towels for their guests. The studio is beautiful and clean, and all of the equipment looks brand new. I'm excited to see this place grow as they continue to make adjustments and become established in the community!

Sky Meadow has been home to our annual knitting retreat for more than 10 years. We (16 knitters)…read moretake over the whole barn area early in April and stay for 3 nights. It is spotless. We cook all our own meals in the very well stocked kitchen. We find every tool we need, plus serving dishes and pots and pans. There is a large open area for yoga, weaving, spinning. We tend to sit on the sofa and chairs in the corner and just knit. The Wood stove, kept stocked by the owner, Miles, keeps us toasty and warm. There are barn animals just behind the bedrooms where you can approach and pat the sheep and alpaca, and hear the rooster crow in the early hours. There are several bathrooms and bunk rooms for 4. Sunsets through the enormous picture window are fabulous, also mountain views and wildlife. Walks on the deserted dirt road are peaceful and the trails surrounding the barn go through the woods and to a meadow. A wonderful place to rejuvenate.

Just for a little back ground here first. I used to train in TKD when I was much younger. I had…read morebroken my ankle and I was forced to stop training for 6-8 years. I personally decided to come back and train at Kojo's after looking at 3-4 different dojang's. Including the one I started at years ago. I did stop at each of them and spoke with the head instructor. Before I had to stop I did make it to green belt. Master Barrett made it very clear that I may keep that rank but I felt like I wanted to start over at the white belt level and he respected that. So now lets get onto the review shall we? If i have to put this is the minimal amount of words I'd say Kojo TKD is amazing! Master Barrett and his team of instructors are great. It's really that simple! Master Barrett is the main instructor for the TKD classes. He provides a lot of structure for his classes. The classes are built upon Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-control and Indomitable spirit. Every class is different and I feel like I leave learning something new! Not to mention the workout that comes with the each class. Even the senior students help out students of lower rank. Its always done with respect and they are willing to answer any question that you can throw at them. This is a huge plus for me! I like to pay attention to detail. (Personality trait!) The Dojang is also kept very clean. Recently they just put in new training matts. So we are currently breaking them in! Kojo also offers a lot of different class times. You can pick from 2-3 on M-F ranging from early afternoon to later at night and on Saturday they have a few morning classes. Classes offered here are TKD class, Sparring, Senior belt and they even have classes for the younger kids. Over all Kojo comes highly recommended from me. For any of you that follow my reviews know that its hard to put stamp a 5/5 stars on a review like this. TKD has become more of a personal choice of fitness for me so I had high expectations here. So I'm happy to report that I can not find any thing negative to say here. If you are looking for some Martial Arts training, new dojang to train at I would really consider stopping in. Their beginner class is a great deal! They even let you take a free class and they have no contracts.

I learned respect, self-confidence, and courtesy, in addition, to staying healthy and active. I would go to Kojo almost every day after school when I was in middle school and high school. It was a home away from home. I was able to earn my 1st dan black belt and compete at the regional and national levels. However, opportunities in my life have taken me away from Kojo and continuing my training, but I am always excited to drop in, say hello, and get a class in whenever I am in the neighborhood. In short, the instructors at Kojo have so much experience, insight, and energy to offer any new student, who wishes to start or continue on in their training.
