Charlotte and her colleagues are on hand to provide encouragement for every level of swimmer, and within a few visits you will be on your way to meet your fitness goal. When I returned after major surgery they helped me come up with a gentle plan and wow, I was back on track faster than I could have imagined. The pool is as beautiful as it is clean, as is the rest of the establishment, including fabulous workout areas. If you are in Stowe for a holiday spend a few hours here-- I guarantee you will leave refreshed. Wanted a break from the heat on a hot summer day, and kids wanted to play in a pool. The pool is pricey, but we had it all to ourselves, and there were two nice lifeguards that kept a constant watch on the kids. The kid zero entry pool was great, and the slide was awesome. The pool was very clean. They charge extra for towels so bring yours from the hotel. Lockers and showers were clean too. The pool was very warm. read more

This place is great for those of us who stay at motels without gyms while visiting Stowe. The pool is gorgeous and the kids enjoyed the slide, when it was open. The equipment area is clean and well-stocked with tons of stuff to use. Would have liked to take a spin class, but the schedule didn't work with mine. This is such a great find. It located right off the recreation path (approximately .75 miles from the starting point near Main street.) I am the type of person who works out on vacation. If I cannot fit in a run, I want to go to a gym. The Swimming Hole was exactly what I needed. They have an extensive amount of cardio equipment that is in great shape. In addition, they have a large free weight and nautilus area and a very large lap pool. There group fitness classes were were viewable online. They also have wipes for the machines and water coolers everywhere. I did not check out the locker rooms, but the group fitness rooms were also very nice. Overall, a great place to workout if you are staying at a home or B&B without a gym. My only complaint is pricey. $18 for a day is a bit much, but they allow you to use it all day, so I took advantage and was there in the morning and afternoon. read more

I got a membership for my 1 year old son from swimming hole before COVID 19 started. We were able to us about 2 months of the membership and then they closed due to COVID. Now when they open, we have to relocate for business. For a company who prides themselves on wellness and health they certainly don't care about the wellness of their members during this trying time. We even asked if we could use the membership if we returned on vacation next year and their abrupt reply was simply "no". read more

If you are like me and like to have a place to work out even when out of town then here is your solution if you ever stay in Stowe. The Swimming Hole is a non-profit swim and fitness center built with the intention to give the families of Stowe an indoor swimming facility. The Swimming Hole underwent a significant expansion recently and the cardio and weight areas are now pretty much top of the line. Each piece of cardio equipment has a personal television attached. Bring your headphones and just plug in to make the time go quickly. The free weights and weight machines are housed in a silo style room with extremely highs ceilings and lots of windows. The atmosphere is great. The best part is that you don't have to be a member to workout. They sell a coupon booklet with 5 day passes for $60. That's just $12 a visit which is a great deal for all that they have to offer. It's also nice to know that since it is a non-profit, the money you spend goes back in to the facility. Oh and they have an amazing "infinity" pool if swimming is your thing. read more

The Swimming Hole was built to serve both the local and the tourist population. It's state of the art facilities include a spin room, yoga studio, exercise room, lap pool, and kid pool, complete with a slide! This is by far the cleanest swimming pool you'll ever step foot in. Yeah, this place is maybe awesome for a non-metropolitan area. And maybe if you have a family and you pay for the yearly family rate, because the kids can play in the fun kid-pool area with the slide. But if you're single, and not a huge swimmer, then this gym is not worth the cost! It has all the basic weight machines and elipticals with TVs, but they simply charge way to much. I used to pay almost half what they ask elsewhere, and that gym had a sauna and steam room, which the swimming hole has neither. To me this is akin to a nice YMCA in Connecticut or Westchester. read more
