I was at Koryo today with my family and I was shocked at how rude and unprofessional the cook was…read more I ordered two short ribs combo and on one of them, the meat was burnt too much for my liking. I removed the rice and sides (because nothing was wrong with them) and I asked if he could replace the burnt meat with new ones. Not only did he say no, but he started telling me I don't know anything and that he's been cooking like that for ten years (a quick look at the menu picture would prove him wrong). I told him meat shouldn't be this burnt and it was probably caused by not cleaning the grill. Plus, burnt meat is really not good for you and I couldn't give that to my children. That's when he exploded with anger and started yelling at the top of his lungs. He threw my plate back to me and told me to go away. Not only that, he was waving the utensils in the air like a madman and I was a little concerned for my safety. At that point I realized it was no use talking to him. I couldn't believe a person such as him who is so rude to the customers is in business. I have never experienced that kind of service from a dining establishment in my life. Just to be clear, Koryo was one of our favourite places in the mall. We went there every time we went shopping. We think the sauce and potato sides are delicious. We will continue going to Koryo at other malls for sure. We just have a problem with the person working at one of their establishments. I'm assuming he may be the owner too because I don't think any employee in his or her right mind would yell at a customer with that much rage over a few pieces of burnt meat. We will not go there again as long as he is there. Thank you for your time.

It has a very pleasant atmosphere with attentive service and a terrific food combination. This establishment really understands its clientele while still staying true to their culture and themselves. The menu has western classics (burger, fries, sandwiches, etc), a kids menu, all day breakfasts (including an eggs benedict) and a Korean selection, simply amazing. We ordered Bibimbap and a Bulgogi burger. The Bibimbap was good but some sesame oil or additional spices would be of benefit. The veggies were of great quality and the rice was perfectly cooked. The Bulgogi burger was excellent with fresh beef and hand made fries (we ordered even more fries as they were not oily but crispy and delicious). The prices maybe abit high but the quality of the food is very good and we respect that choice. We will be returning to this true gem on the prairies.

They have several well-known and loved Korean dishes like bulgogi, bibimbap, gimbap, Korean fried chicken, and more. Last time I was here I got the Japchae, which are the glass noodles and they were delicious. The time before I tried Tteokbokki, which was my first time trying that and it was delicious and spicy (good spicy). The tables have plugs so you can charge your devices. The staff have been friendly and able to answer any questions if you're not familiar with the menu. It's getting colder so I might go back to try one of their soups. Prices are great for the amount of food Downside as another reviewer points out is the parking. It's just the way this building was built there's not a lot of spaces and if there's a big truck in the lot it can be hard to get in and out of. But Seoul Bites is worth a visit, even if you need to park in the nearby neighbourhood (Willow Park) and walk a block.

The young man at the front counter, Daniel, was super friendly and helpful - he had great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed to take our goodness home after. The atmosphere was poppy, hip, and inviting. K-pop videos and music played in the background as they should! Everything about this place is spot on and I seriously wanted to try everything on the menu. Seoul Bites reminded me of the new hip Korean spots on Whyte Ave in YEG but of course a bit cheaper - Yay! The sauce carousel at the front counter had an AMAZING array of house made sauces Including 3 LEVELS of spicy mayo (that are all amazing) and a killer Korean teriyaki style sauce called unagi taro cupbap. We opted for the Value Pack which came with our choice of Korean Fried Chicken (bone-in garlic soy), fries (we added their housemade sweet cheese powder topping), and Seoul kimbap (we selected Bulgogi) and a Bulgogi cupbap (meat/rice/veggie bowl). Everything was outstanding! The Chicken was fried to perfection - crisp and juicy (and still crisp and juicy 5 hours later at home)! The garlic soy was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The Bulgogi kimbap was lovely (think beef maki) and the bulgogi opal was my favourite as I prefer non-fried foods. The housemade sauces here are exceptional! The "cheese" sauce we added to the fries is difficult to describe and unlike anything I've ever had - it was actually like a powder coating and more sweet than salty! The spicy mayos on the carousel were insanely good! I'd like to buy them for my poke bowls at home, lol! The kiddo loved the Korean blue lemonade pop we picked him up - never seen a clear plastic can with a metal pop can top before - definitely fun! You know it's good when you're already talking about coming back before you even leave! Before we left I chatted with Daniel a bit and he shared that they opened up about 3 months ago and this is his family's first restaurant. Well whatever y'all are doing, keep doing it because it's outstanding! Two thumbs WAY up!

All tasty. - 2x Rice ($3.00 each) - would have been good with one additional bowl. - BBQ combo set ($94.00) - good enough to share between four. Best of the meats was easily the LA galbi. The rib finger wasn't the freshest. Corn cheese was a good appetizer; more cheese than corn. Sukuh soondubu jigae was tasty but not much seafood or sliced beef. - Bibim-naengmyun ($17.00) - refreshing but standard fare. Solid KBBQ eats at Jung. Would come back again.

There aren't any tables or chairs but you can take your order and eat outside in your car. We stopped into Lokal Kitchen Express on the way from Edmonton to Calgary. It's halfway between the two. The quality of the food (especially the beef, of course, which is what the region is known for) and the flavor combinations are gonna have me dreaming of this place until we return. In talking to the counter person, we found out that the restaurant has been open for three years. She also told us we need to return to try their KFC chicken, which we will most definitely do on our return to Edmonton. The sweet garlic Parmesan fries were addictive: slightly sticky sweet (but not too sweet - just enough to make you want to eat another bite), wonderfully garlicky, and perfectly Parmesan flavored. The bulgogi pasta was well done: nicely al dente and well seasoned. The truffle flavor was a bit mild for my taste but the overall flavor was still delicious. I don't know WHAT is in the salad dressing (did I get a hint of Asian pear?) but it was so refreshing and different from any dressing I've had before. Plus the salad greens, julienned beets, and radishes were super fresh. This is not your average gas station food. If you're ever in the area, please give this place a try! Parking is easy and the gas station is not too far off the highway.
