If you're not used to traditional herbal soups, the aroma can be quite strong, but that's part of its authentic flavor. My favorite is still the Crab Noodle Soup (Bánh Canh Cua). The portion is a little smaller than I remember, but it's still packed with crab and toppings, and the taste has remained just as delicious. We also tried the $28.95 combo, which offers great value with generous portions and a nice variety of dishes. Overall, Pho 90 continues to deliver authentic Vietnamese comfort food made with quality ingredients. Think of it as a Pho 99 in a Pho Anh Vu clothing. And I think MS Pho strikes the best balance of both worlds, because I liked what I ate. The pho and vermicelli tasted familiar, like home. The Chicken Pho was fresh, and with the old school MSG that I am familiar with. The vermicelli was really well made, except the spring rolls were a bit too crunchy (I am weird I know). The portion was very good, so the value was as good as the old-time Pho 99. The 2 dishes were sufficient for the 3 of us. I freaking love sharing my food, so I love this aspect of MS Pho. The service was friendly, efficient and welcoming throughout the meal. If you ask me, I can objectively say the food here is not as good as Linh Anh. But the nostalgia hits me hard. I also tried the crispy spring rolls for the first time and they were so yummy. The portion only came with 2, but I wish there was more! They are decently sized spring rolls though. They come with a sauce that paired very well with them. All the food came out in a timely manner and was very fresh. The curry beef with the crispy egg noodles reminds me of khao soi though there is less of a coconut flavour and more salty and savoury. But we found it a little too salty and also I personally prefer my curry a little sweeter like Japanese or coconut-ish like Thai or HK style curries. It's good, just not to our palate. It's a generous portion so we took it home and actually used the remaining curry broth to make a tasty stew with other ingredients and a touch of marinara sauce and it turned out really tasty! The crispy triangles rolls we had were fantastic and I like the side of fresh greens with it. Dry chicken pho noodle salad is always good. I like that they provide the broth of beef balls on the side so you can always enjoy it with the broth if you like. I think the extra broth with beef balls only happens for dine-in though because I have taken out that same dish before and I don't remember them including the extra broth on the side. The other time we also tried their shaking beef (comes with a fried egg on top) with rice and ordered the tapioca seafood and pork noodle soup - look through my later photos for reference. I don't think we'll order the shaking beef again but the tapioca noodle soup would be in rotation. One thing that shocked me the first time though was that their front staff aren't Vietnamese, which I'm use to at most Viet restaurants. Don't let that fool you tho, the food is good, creative, and in many ways authentic to the Vietnamese pallet.
