TRDL - traditional Vietnamese food. Good value. The entrance of MS Pho Saigon faces the street, so one cannot see it from the parking lot. We took a while to check it out as a result. We were promptly greeted upon entering. The interior was clean and nicely decorated. It felt cozy and pleasant to spend time here. Despite the contemporary decor, the food was traditional. Think of it as a Pho 99 in a Pho Anh Vu clothing. And I think MS Pho strikes the best balance of both worlds, because I liked what I ate. The pho and vermicelli tasted familiar, like home. The Chicken Pho was fresh, and with the old school MSG that I am familiar with. The vermicelli was really well made, except the spring rolls were a bit too crunchy (I am weird I know). The portion was very good, so the value was as good as the old-time Pho 99. The 2 dishes were sufficient for the 3 of us. I freaking love sharing my food, so I love this aspect of MS Pho. The service was friendly, efficient and welcoming throughout the meal. If you ask me, I can objectively say the food here is not as good as Linh Anh. But the nostalgia hits me hard. On a quiet cold evening, the thought of a steaming hot bowl of pho warms my soul. Grateful to Madame Saigon's personable and dedicated staff who work around the clock to prepare meals for their guests. We ordered 4 things. P3. Rare Beef, Beef Tendon Pho, Small 生牛肉，牛筋粉 A1. Crispy Pork Spring Rolls (2 Rolls) 越南春卷 H2. Lemongrass Tomato Beef Noodle Soup with egg noodles 茄汁牛腩湯粉 And a fresh fruit milkshake that was made perfectly! The curveball came from their version of Beef Noodle Stew which surprised us by the amount of unrendered solid fat that it had floating in it. Initially we had thought it to be soft tendon that had disintegrated into chunks. Taste wise it was still very aromatic and delicious, but one spoonful was enough to satiate us. Great spot for Viet food. The parking lot says paid parking during the day, but I believe it's free after 5pm (just check to be sure). You can go through the building to get to the viet restaurant, though their entry is still outside. The food here is good. I can't comment on authenticity but I do like it. I've had their pho dac biet and the Chicken bun with shrimp on sugar cane. I will say, they only gave me one piece of the shrimp on sugar cane which kinda seems like not great. But the chicken was nicely grilled with a good flavour. I wasn't a fan of the vermicelli being hot though. Mine came out still steaming. It just made the noodles all stick together really badly and it was quite mushy. I think maybe over cooked a bit. I do appreciate that they'll cook the bean sprouts for you if you ask them to. We dropped in for a late night Pho craving after a slightly chilly afternoon on the water. Madame Saigon was the closest pho resto that was open later than 9 p.m. so we decided to give this location a try. We order a large rare beef and brisket pho, satay beef pho and a fresh shrimp rolls. The service was efficient and our food arrived quickly. Their pho broth resembled more of the Southern style (slightly sweeter than the Northern sibling) but it had nice depth and hit the spot. The satay pho had big chunks of pineapple along with tomato slices which I didn't really care for, but the flavour of the broth was 10/10. Hubby, who is a light weight for spice found this to be too spicy for him and diluted his broth with the broth from our other pho. The cold roll was just meh and nothing to write home about. I would probably come back, if we're struck with a late night pho craving but not likely will go out of our way to eat here. read more

I've been around this area so many times and have finally decided to try this place. Decent Vietnamese food, service is quick too. Came in for dinner and got the pho and vermicelli bowl with iced coffee. The coffee was strong and sweet. The pho broth was clean and had a good flavour to it. We shared the Madame Saigon Street Platter and had their Vietnamese Filtered Coffee which is great! Very tasty and well prepared. Maybe a touch too much salt but then again it may be myself going crazy on their fish sauce. I like this place and will come back for sure to try other stuff! You can see the place on Sheppard but when you park, you have to walk around to get in. Also, do not park on the street level because you have to pay. We had to come back to try this viet place after our positive experience last time. I called ahead to order takeout for dinner but realized I was going to be there an hour earlier. I called and they graciously got my order ready earlier for me! Perfect! We tried their madame saigon platter. The meats were grilled well and moist, sausage had a nice sweet and saltiness, the spring roll had great filling and crunchy exterior, shrimp with sugarcane was great. The veges and noodles were fresh. More than enough to feed 2, maybe 3. 5/5. We also got a pho because it was great last time. The aroma of the broth is amazing and they definitely add some herbs and spices to bring out the broth flavor. The broth came piping hot. Noodles, meat and bean sprouts were all in good proportions and amount. 4.5/5. This authentic Vietnamese eatery is serving up HOT, fresh bowls of delicious and comforting phở. They only opened a few weeks but the owner Tom and his business partner, Trang (aka Madame Saigon) warmly welcomed us. The service is incredibly friendly, and the modern Vietnamese music transports you to Vietnam. A well-made bowl of phở has clear broth, (not cloudy) as was the case here. Simmered for 12-16 hours at a low and slow temperature, it tasted flavorful, and rich, with great depths of flavor. I usually ask for the broth to be steaming hot, but there is no need here, the bowls are dipped in boiling hot water! The raw beef slices and brisket were tender and succulent. I would love to see culantro (saw-grass) available as a garnish, but it's quite rare to find in Vietnamese restaurants. We were graciously offered complimentary Vietnamese coffees, but I would be up all night long - lol! My husband is a coffee lover and I could see how much he enjoyed it (thank you so much)! The coffee was robust with just the right amount of condensed milk. I had to take a tiny sip myself - pure decadence! You have to try it .... I had another sip, and another .... lol We'll try their vermicelli (bún thịt nướng), and grilled meats on broken rice (cơm tấm) next! What a lovely viet restaurant! Great customer service, clean space and yummy food. I dove right in and almost forgot to take a pic. I don't usually get the house special but it was recommended. The brisket was DELICIOUS. I will definitely get that "meat topping" again. It was flavourful and tender. The broth had great depth. I highly recommend! Madame Saigon is quite a fitting name for a Vietnamese Restaurant. I'm pretty sure they are trying to set themselves apart (name wise) by not wanting to stick the word 'pho' as part of their name. The name itself identifies that they are a Vietnamese restaurant, while paying homage to the French culture that has influenced the country historically. Although their name is a bit less typical, the fare that they offer is pretty standard. And on my visit today, I also went with a very typical choice - Special Beef Pho (Large). I think the pho was solid. I enjoyed the soup and cuts of meat that that was used. The hand cut beef slices were tender, the brisket had a good thickness to it with a good mix of tendon and fat. The beef balls were legit... maybe a bit too legit... I think they may have overdone the tendon that was mixed in (or the supplier did). They however, used dried noodles which I'm personally not a fan of. The restaurant overall was clean and the server was polite and attentive. The main knock would be that I was quite thirsty after the fact. So, I suspect a fair amount of 'performance enhancers' were used for the soup. Had that not been the case, a 4 star review was most likely a deserved score. But I've said many times, the beef broth is the soup of a good pho. For that, I think a 3 star review is a truer reflection. read more

What a pleasant surprise finding this little gem while recently looking for a place to eat on a recent Saturday night! Service was prompt and friendly, plus the menu offers lots of variety I have not seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. We ordered the fresh rolls (2 per order) which were just that, as an appetizer. I settled for the Chicken Tom Yum Phó (choice of beef, chicken, tofu or shrimp) which only comes in one size (large) for $13.95 and was amazed at how flavourful it was, and the amount of chunky chicken pieces in it. I am a cilantro lover and asked for extra, which was cheerfully given. Hubby ordered the Spicy Beef Noddle Soup and loved it! Home is within 16 minutes. There's a large aquarium towards the back. I came here on a weekday evening with my parents to check out this new Vietnamese restaurant! It wasn't busy at all and we were able to choose our seats. They allow you to be seated before checking your proof of vaccination. My parents, who are super picky about Vietnamese food, since they grew up in Vietnam and used to visit somewhat often pre-pandemic, approved of this restaurant! The restaurant give a generous portion of meat and noodles and their soup doesn't taste watered down at all. Their Vietnamese coffee is also very authentic with the drip and everything provided. The service is also amazing. The waitress was always on stand by in case we needed anything and she came by to ask how we were enjoying the food as well. All the staff are super welcoming and friendly. There are options for parking as there is a parking garage in the plaza behind the restaurant. It does feel a bit cramped in the parking garage and sometimes the lights don't turn on either. There is also parking across the street at the large parking lot in front of the Walmart. It's about a 5 mins walk to the restaurant from there. This restaurant is also easily accessible by public transit since it's right at the intersection of Kennedy and Sheppard. read more

This new authentic Viet restaurant that opened up is absolutely delicious! The staff are friendly, the space is clean and the food is delicious. We really enjoyed our meal here. The staff actually mistakenly gave us the wrong bowl of pho so we got an extra bowl for free lol. Needless to say, we were stuffed by the end! The three of us got an order of the thai Basil chili wings and they were so yummy! The basil leaves were crispy like chips and the wings were juicy and tender. Personally, I really enjoyed my bowl of lemongrass tomato beef soup. They beef broth was so strong and they gave a very generous portion of beef brisket. My friends also really liked their house special pho as it came with a variety of meats and the broth was flavourful yet not too oily. The seafood noodle soup that they gave us by mistake was also so delicious - it came with a variety of seafood and a huge tender piece of pork bone. So worth! Great new spot in Scarborough for pho. I ordered the house special pho and was pleasantly surprised by the ample portions of tender beef brisket in it. The Vietnamese coffee was also super tasty. Service is good and very attentive. I was waiting for my coffee to finish "dripping" and the cup of ice I was provided was starting to melt, so the waitress offered to bring me a new cup once it was done. Yet when the pho was served, they had served us the dry vermicelli, which is quite a disappointment. Secondly the place is not very hygienic, we asked for small bowls so we can eat the chicken wings, the waitress had brought us two dirty bowls, we had to point it out that the bowls were dirty so then she brought us the clean ones.
