Came by for lunch the other day and it was a mediocre experience. Pho Vietnam is located in Prague 2. The restaurant is located in the basement. In order to get a table, diners need to order and pay with the cashier. Started off with the spring roll and it was tasty. The filing had plenty of pork and the wrapper was light. It was a bummer that the spring roll didn't come with any vegetables. Moved on to Pho #2 which was a pho with beef cooked to a "medium rare." Pho is Europe doesn't seem to come with tripe, tendons, and/or meatballs. I think the beef was medium rare when it came out of the kitchen as it was closer to medium well and well done by the time it was on my table. The broth was decent and I wasn't sure why the broth came with a side of raw garlic and lemon. read more

It's not like Prague is known for Asian food, but this Vietnamese spot is great! They're located in a basement so you'll have to descend a very well decorated stair case to reach them. Once you do, the food at this spacious restaurant will really hit that craving. The pork was perfectly seared. The noodles perfectly cooked. The sauces were good, but don't be intimidated by the spicy warnings because they're aren't actually spicy. The restrooms are clean and staff does speak English. read more

This is a hard review to write because the food and service here are good but nothing out of the ballpark. It was a rainy day and really needed a pho fix (we are from California). We purposely went out of our way to find this pho place given its high overall ratings. They have a limited menu of Pho (only chicken and beef) a total of 3 soups to pick from. They also had plates & apps. Overall the pho was ok! The broth can be a little weak but the meat and noodles were fine. They also added the bean sprouts and onions into the mix for you so it really only comes with a side of lemon and garlic. I am Vietnames and I traveled from Los Angeles, so my expectations for Pho was pretty high. However, I still liked the Pho here. I thought the taste was very authentic. It was northern-Vietnamese-styled Pho. The broth was flavorful, and the noodles were fresh. However, since I had really good beef in the U.S, I thought the beef pieces here were too thin and tough - similar to beef in Pho in Vietnam lol. Anyways, the impression was still positive. I was surprised to find out that Vietnamese was good in Prague on my trip with my friend so we decided to come here. It did not disappoint. It's so hard to find good Vietnamese food back home, so this definitely hit the spot. There are no english menus, so we both got a pho with medium rare beef. It's funny. Sometimes you don't have any expectations at all, and you're just blown away. This happened to me at Pho Vietnam. My friends and I were so hungry after flying in from Norway an early morning late in December. We figured this was an okay spot to eat lunch before we started exploring town. Little did we know that this would be our favorite restaurant in Prague. At first, I thought I would have an issue ordering gluten free food. Naively, I tried to ask about gluten in english, which the staff off course did not understand a single word of. I then tried to show them a translation in czech - which also proved to be a mistake, and they still didn't get a single word. But then it occurred to me - what if I show them the translation in vietnamese? I tell you - always bring the gluten free translation app - it works wonders every time. i was told I could eat almost everything, and they would make sure it was gluten free for me. Oh joy! I ordered a chicken pho, at it was every bit as delicious as it should be! I am dreaming of eating more of it as I am writing this! Broth full of taste, crisp warm onions and vegetables and tender chicken filet on a nest of perfectly cooked rice noodles - yummy! needless to say - we ate breakfast/lunch here as many days as we could. Unfortunately they were closed over the new years, so we didn't get to visit as many times as we wanted to. But oh well. Next time I'm in Prague - I will eat here every day! read more

Finding Vietnamese food in an European city is always weird. At least in my head, since I always forget how many people immigrated here. Comparing to the American-style Vietnamese food, this place is manned by Vietnamese people and tasted more authentic. For starters, the pho broth is flavorful and the noodles are not clumped together. They have a chili pepper bar where you can collect your favorite kinds of spice to dump into your soup, including fresh Thai chiles. Be warned that they don't speak English very well. We have one Vietnamese speaker amongst us and she ordered for all of us. This is still a far cry from the average place in Vietnam, but nothing beats a steaming bowl of soup of familiarity in an unfamiliar city. read more

Sorry this place is just not that great. 4 stars? This place wouldn't even make it in California as anything but average at best. Weak selection, no side vegetables, and bad service. The pho itself: Broth average to slightly above average. Noodles average. Beef average to below average in taste. But average pho wouldn't warrant a bad review. This review is because of the service. We went in at 9pm and they were already cleaning up the place (it closes at 10) and basically ignored us for a few minutes before someone said we have to order at the counter. Then me and my buddy were essentially ripped off. We ordered the spring rolls which the picture shows 4 but instead we got only 1. It was towards the end of the night so I suspect they ran out of them but they still charged us full price. It was only about $1 so we didn't bother fighting it too much but if there's one thing I hate, it's false advertisement. Anyways if you're from Prague maybe you will like it but if you've had any decent pho this place is not that great. Authentic Vietnamese at an affordable price - a first for me since I left LA. 10/10 would come back again. Price: it was about $10 USD which is pricier than some other Vietnamese options, but the portion makes up for it. Food: We had a late dinner and came right before closing so we had to take the food to-go, but the food was still prepared fresh and tasted like we dined in. My friends loved their pho. The spring roll was also fantastic and fatter than most rolls, though heavy on the oil. Downside: CASH ONLY. They also charge an additional 10czk for the take-out box itself, which was annoying if you come in late since take-out is the only option at that point. read more

I give this three stars because the price was cheap but the pho was simply not that good. The portion size was fairly nice, but the broth was oily and bland, I couldn't taste how it was a "beef broth". The noodles were quite soft and overall as a dish it lacked flavor. DO NOT EAT HERE. yesterday i went here and my friend ordered meals for both him and i. they wrote down the wrong orders... we ordered two orders of number 12 but they wrote down that we wanted 2 orders of number 22. the lady at the counter argued with us when they brought out the wrong food and told us there was nothing she could do about it since the food had already been prepared. she was extremely rude and over and over kept refusing to bring out the right meals for us. eventually she just started ignoring us so i told my friend to demand his money back. she refused this as well. finally, she realized we werent leaving until we either got the right meals or got our money back so she (reluctantly) agreed to make us the meals we had actually ordered. i cannot stress enough how unbelievably rude the staff was. they made the mistake and then refused to fix it. there was not even an apology. i never write reviews even after bad service but this was such a bad experience that i would like to spread the word. maybe you shouldn't open a restaurant if you don't even know how to treat a customer/human properly? just a suggestion. the food wasn't bad but they don't deserve your service. there's lots of options for vietnamese food in prague- don't waste your time/money here. read more

A friend and I visited for lunch on a Saturday. It was surprisingly pretty packed. She told me that Vietnamese food had gotten pretty popular in Prague which is cool, but I noticed that most of the people were not having pho. Instead, it was mostly fried rice & other dishes that are similar to Chinese food. The pho was decent and had pretty good flavor. I found it odd that they didn't have hoisin sauce though. Maybe they just didn't understand me but they did have Sriracha sauce by Huy Fong (Rooster sauce). We also got the spring rolls were decent too. read more

Not impressed with this place at all. It was my first time trying pho and I definitely won't be trying it again. I had number 4 on the menu (chicken and pork meatballs with bamboo shoots and rice noodles) and it was so bad I literally couldn't eat it. The broth itself tasted of nothing but had this really horrible smell, the chicken tasted of nothing and the 'meatballs' were just round chunks of what looked like some really cheap nasty pork. I asked them if they could change it for something else and they said no but they did give me a free spring roll which was really yummy so that's something. They don't have ice and their fridge isn't very cold either so be prepared for some room temperature drinks. It's a shame because the restaurant looks really nice, the food and drinks just don't match the standard of the decor. read more

I love me some pho, and this wasn't bad at all. Simple to order. Place is underneath the building. They don't give you limes or the liberty of putting your own vegetables in the soup, but they had a great balance in each bowl. I've eaten great, authentic Vietnamese pho in California, so I know what authentic pho tastes like. That was an America-is-arrogant American joke. When in Prague, if you miss good Asian food, come here to get a hearty bowl of pho! And that is what we did. The pho they serve here is northern Vietnamese style (meat is often cooked), the soup is very flavorful, and the portion is large! It was quite easy with the service and staff was helpful! Tasty food, calm and pleasant surroundings. The staff speak English, though there is no menu in English and they have to guide you through finding a good match.
