What a great experience. Last week, was my first time visiting Phoenicia Resto & Lounge and they did not disappoint. When I walked in we were immediately greeted by the hostess who was very kind and friendly. Shortly after our waiter came and gave us some suggestions for hookah, drinks, and food which was greatly appreciated. The food was pretty good. I ordered the beef flatbread and my friend ordered kabobs. The flatbread was a bit dry but still had a good taste. The kabobs were delicious. They were very flavorful and cooked to perfections. The hookah was amazing. The waiter suggested that we try the grapefruit head with the blue mist flavor. The grapefruit head added flavor and enhanced the smoothness with each pull. Also, it made the hookah last longer as well. The ambiance was nice. The establishment is pretty large so there was plenty of space. They had a section where they would have a live band. The bar was nice in size as well. They played Lebanese music which was fitting for the clientele and set the tone for the vibes. Overall, I had a great experience. This Lebanese restaurant is my favorite place to go to with my girls. During the weekday, it's a chill vibe where I've definitely knocked some work out via laptop. They also have an outdoor patio with is perfect as the weather warms up! I've got to be honest when it comes to food. I've tried a lot of things off of the menu but my heart only calls for two things here. The chicken liver and halawet el jeben! The pomegranate molasses on the chicken liver just makes it for me. For my hookah lovers, the hookah here is one of the few I would actually recommend. But!! I'm warning you know, get the special head. It makes a difference. Splurge on yourself Fridays nights are great because they typically have an international dj, while Saturdays and Sunday nights are live middle eastern singers! We were there to celebrate my Sisters bachelorette and to see the Famous Lebanese singer Carlos. What an amazing classy/fun night out. We had the best experience. Super attentive service and great management. Karam was very responsive/helpful/professional and made sure our night was one to remember. The food was wow! I've eaten here a few times and keep coming back. The food is always fresh and delicious - I've had the mixed grill platter, potatoes, side salad, tabbouleh, beef sliders, grilled chicken wings and grape leaves. The service is hit or miss whether it's busy or not - sometimes they're very attentive and other times I've had to search for someone. The space itself is pretty large with a wrap around patio and lovely Lebanese/Middle Eastern decor and murals. It's a nice place to grab food, drinks and hookah. Their happy hour is great too and one of the longest in the area (from 12-6 PM M-F), definitely worth a try! read more

My second time visiting this places and still disappointed. I always give a place a second chance. Food is average, service is terrible. The waitresses look like they are high or brain dead. The eggplant was good but the shrimps in sour cream were weird. Most people here were for smoking so not a place for non smokers.

I hope the owner sees this. We dined here the day after Thanksgiving 2025 and both of us developed food poisoning shortly afterward. When we called to report it, the manager, Rayan, treated us with complete disrespect, questioning our story, calling us liars, and refusing to even consider that the food might have been the cause. No accountability, no concern, and no refund. I have already filed a complaint with the Health Department and would still appreciate a refund. read more

This place used to be one of my favorite spots to watch soccer. Unfortunately, since the management changed, our experience has been consistently disappointing. Every time we visit, we make reservations, yet we are never seated properly. We don't mind paying each visit is quite expensive but the service we receive does not match the price at all. The manager is extremely rude, shows favoritism, and does not treat customers equally. There is a complete lack of hospitality, which is very sad to see. Our experience at Phoenicia was excellent from the phone call leading us to the restaurant and all the way up to leaving the restaurant. This establishment popped up during an Iftar buffet search and when I called in, the hostess was kind enough to read out their entire menu and was so sweet and patient. When we arrived to the restaurant I was shocked by how huge the buffet actually was and at that point was also very thankful that she took the time to explain it all to us over the phone. The location is excellent! Ample parking and holy wow the interior is beautiful! There are multiple floors and more than enough seating for small and large groups. There's a stage in the center for weekend performances, a separate area upstairs for adult beverages and their hookahs are the perfect size and can sit on your table if you'd like. This place is an absolute vibe! You're probably thinking "why give it 4 stars then." I'm giving it a 4 star today based on my experience with their buffet which was hands down one of the best Iftar buffets I've ever been to in the DMV. More than enough items on the menu, water, tea and juices are included. Multiple appetizers and main dishes! It's truly incredible. As soon as you're seated the staff bring out water and dates to the table. When I tell you the staff was working the room, I truly mean it. I picked up my plate to move it and before I could put it to the side it was out of my hands. The entire team was working together to ensure the tables were clear for the customers and the best part was their smiling faces! The price per person is extremely fair for the quantity and quality of food and I can't wait to go back after Ramadan to try out their full menu. I had a great experience. My food was super flavorful! I can't recall the names of what we ordered but we had two appetizers, one was feta cheese with tomatoes and scallions the other was lamb with yogurt sauce and chickpeas both were very delicious. We had the lamb chops and the kebab and we both loved it. Overall yum yum!!! The service was great we were served with a smile she had great attitude. I didn't catch our waitresses name. I thoroughly enjoyed my tone at Phoenicia. It is a large venue, and later in the evenings, there is live music. It was nice to smoke some Shisha and relax without feeling bad for hogging the table. I ordered a few items: chicken shawarma, French fries, and tabouleh. The pita bread here is fantastic. Warm, freshly baked, and absolutely delicious. Be advised that there is about an 18% gratuity charge added for dine-in customers. I hadn't been paying enough attention, so our server ended up with almost a 50% tip. I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at Phoenicia was frustrating enough that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was terrible. We waited too long just to be acknowledged, despite the restaurant not being overly busy. When our server finally arrived, they seemed uninterested and rushed through taking our order, barely making eye contact. We had to flag them down multiple times for basic things like water refills and missing utensils. The order took an excessively long time to arrive, and when it did, it was cold and poorly prepared--as if it had been sitting out for a while. When we politely asked about it, the server was dismissive and offered no solution. Even worse, when we asked to speak with the manager about the situation he was very rude, yelling at us and saying that he is owner and he can do whatever he wants. If I could give a zero rating I would absolutely do it. To top it off, the staff seemed more focused on chatting with each other than actually tending to customers. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was shocking. For the prices they charge, I expected at least decent service, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Definitely will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant meal. read more

We've only ever gotten delivery from here so I can't speak to their dining experience, but food-wise this may be the best Middle Eastern place in the area. I love tabouleh and have since I was a kid. It's my favorite food, so I'm always on the lookout. Currently, this holds the top spot for Best Tabbouleh in the DMV as awarded by me, a very coveted title. Hummus is fresh and my wife often orders two at a time. I like the Hummus with meat, and will usually pair that with an order of tabbouleh and sometimes another side as my meal. My only issue is they often forget to include pita, even when we order 3+ hummus and 1-2 tabbouleh, all of which, in my mind, should be a given in terms of pita coming with the meal. Now I always write a reminder in the notes, and they've been consistent. Will I go try this place in person? Probably not, since I'm not a huge hookah fan. But we will continue to order hummus and tabbouleh from here at an obnoxious rate. read more

recently dined here and wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, the service was quite disappointing. The waiter( Messeri) seemed in a hurry to go home at 7 pm and the restaurant closed at 2am. She mentioned that she is working as a morning shift, and evening shift employees started now . So she had to close my bill. Even gave me the bill before I received my food. It felt rushed and took away from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Later on, l decided to have some dessert, but she closed the bill, which I could not . I hope the restaurant takes note of this and improves their service in the future. Even though the waiter shifted over, the other waiter can continue the service. This is a middle eastern restaurant and they serve a mix of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisines. For appetizers, the soujouk dish was good. It's a beef sausage sautéed with onions. The hummus bil lahme is a hummus plate with small beef cuts and pine nuts at the center. The appetizers were served with pita bread. For main entree, I wanted to sample different kind of meat so I had the phienicia mixed grill. This is a char-grilled meat plate of beef kebab, chicken tawook, lamb chops, kofta with seasoned grilled veggies. It is served with rice and house salad. Let me tell you that the food was freaking good. Took all the leftovers to go! The drinks were so so. I had an old fashioned drink and it was ok, not great. The service was great. There were patrons that were hosting a bachelor party near my table and it was getting too loud for me. I asked the server to be relocated outside where it was more quiet. They were courteous to move us. She also remade a drink that we didn't like and didn't charge us for it. Overall, great food and service. read more

This review is for the bar, lounge and nightclub services of Phoenicia. The food that I saw looked fine. We met friends for a birthday celebration. Even though it was very full, we were able to find parking in their lot. We entered easily and were impressed by the (packed but) ample seating and beautiful chandelier. We were able to find seats right away. The ambience was lively with colored lights rotating and recorded music playing. Our server was good and let us know that there would be a belly dance show. That was an understatement! Kristi the belly dancer was amazing because of her muscle control, dance moves, and the fun she created by interacting with many members of the audience. After Kristi got the party started, the band came onstage. They played hit after hit and the dance pandemonium was infectious! The whole place was on its feet dancing in unison! I haven't partied that hard or that late into the night in years! I don't know whether it's like that every weekend, but Phoenicia showed a friendly, culture-filled, dance-'till-you-sweat good time to everyone in attendance during my visit. We worked with several waitresses and except for Parandis (who was great), the rest of them were not professional and had a bad attitude. Bathroom was very filthy and there was no soap. read more

The food was not cooked to the order, they have too many staff, but service is really slow. It took them 40 minutes to get our order, and it took a long time for the food to get to the table. Also, their bathroom was not clean, and they had no soap dispenser in the men's bathroom. It could be a great restaurant, but as it is I do not recommend and will not go there again. read more

When I called they said first come first serve upstairs, and I believed cause usually you can see a singer from upstairs,we sit down on the table. We were so happy we wanted to order dinner tea and enjoy the place,However, around 8:30, I saw the curtain was dropping down to cover the glass window that was upstairs and prevent people from seeing the singer and hearing the music. The curtain was even DOUBLED to block everything. We were very surprised by the move and got very disappointed and I got embarrassed to bring my friends there.Yes this place embarrassed me plus they charged us $32 for only one tea. We asked why and they changed it to $16, which is still very expensive for only tea. I could not order dinner I decided to skip it and because we parked and all that and we already sit on the table my friends said we could just sit today but NO MORE FUTURE then I ordered some glasses of wine to pass the time & the worst is that every time we go downstairs to use the bathroom cause we were drinking so they follow us and tell us why you are here downstairs.You are from upstairs; you can't come down. An awesome experience! We went with friends last Friday night. One of members of our party had issues with smoke phobia and Belly Dancer issues, so we had to eat upstairs- sequestered in a glassed off room- eroding much of the aura of the whole experience....then she went home, we grabbed a table downstairs and immersed ourselves in a truly sensational experience - not found in most parts of the country. The 3 piece band played Middle Eastern music - largely said to be from the Gulf States, then switched over to some Lebanese Traditional music, and the crowd came alive and started a train type of dancing- strangers, smiling and expressing happiness- ear to ear...while enjoying our double Apple Hookah!...Overall, a great experience filled with unity and happiness....even if I couldn't understand a word the were singing!! read more

My husband and I decided to try Phoenicia a second time and we are glad we did. During this visit we sat in the lounge area upstairs, it is very intimate and comfortable and I recommend sitting upstairs if the hookah smell doesn't bother you. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Even though there were other groups he still checked on us frequently. We started with the hot mezza tapas sampler, the cheese rolls and batata harra were my favorites. We opted to order the two entrees we liked best from the mixed grill platter, the filet mignon and the chicken taouk. The chicken taouk was incredible and was the highlight of the meal. We were unfortunately not given a choice between rice and salad and we were both given salad this visit. I would recommend that the chef taste the dressing before serving it because it tasted like it was missing olive oil. I was also disappointed by the filet mignon, the meat tasted incredibly gamey and not at all what I remembered. While I think the food may be a 3.5 overall, I'm giving Phoenicia 4 stars for this visit because our waiter and the manager really went out of their way to provide excellent service. We will likely be back soon for more chicken taouk and try hookah with friends. read more

A door dash order a few months ago for a small get together has turned into a weekly thing I've ordered food from here multiple times via door dash delivery and/or just called to pickup and it's been amazing each time. The mixed grill, hummus bil lahme, kibbeh, tabouleh, vermicelli rice and the labneh are all fantastic. Have never been to smoke hookah so I can't speak about the service but if you want amazing food, try this place as you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is located off gallows road, very close to Tyson's and McLean area. They have dedicated parking available below the building as well as outside with the rest of the tenants in that area. The building has two floors, the bottom serving as a non-smoking dining place and the top floor as a hookah lounge. Pros: The ambiance is absolutely stunning! It has to be one of the best hookah places we have been to and in no ways is dim light and shady (that's what we've come to expect). Their hookah selection is pretty decent and priced competitively. This place serves alcohol as well. Cons: The food. Don't get us wrong, the food here is absolutely delicious! We have tried almost all the vegetarian and chicken options! Their cold platter is awesome and muhammara is our favorite item in that. We've also tried all the flat breads and they are pretty good. HOWEVER, the service is ridiculously slow. It takes ages for food to be served on weekdays, almost to the point where you loose your appetite. We've had a couple of instances where we were informed after half an hour that they don't have the food item we asked for or that their bread machine is broken. The servers are a hit or miss; we've had some exceptionally helpful ones and some who couldn't care less. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone looking for food and hookah in a good setup but would be prepared for a disappointing food service. read more

Although the food was delicious, I was less than impressed with the service. We made a reservation for 7;00 pm. When we arrived, the hostess didn't greet us or even smile. She escorted us upstairs and sat us at a long table against the wall, although there were several with more comfortable chairs at the windows. We were never given a menu and we couldn't locate a member of the waitstaff. After ten or so minutes the waitress came to take our order. At that point we were told to scan the QR code to download the menu. Only two of the three appetizers we ordered were delivered. We didn't learn until later that third appetizer wasn't available. We did order another, but it took a very long time for it to arrive. A perfunctory apology was given for the delay and unavailability of the other appetizer. Apparently, the entire restaurant had been reserved for a private function starting at 8:00 pm and the kitchen was preparing for the event. I feel they should have not accepted our reservation and apologized that they were closed for a private party. I was anxious to try Phoenicia after driving past it on numerous occasions. My husband and I especially enjoy Middle Eastern food, and Phoenicia's menu looked very promising. Unfortunately, previous reviews sharing poor experiences with service rang true for us as well. We will try Phoenicia again and hope the wait staff is more attentive to the clientele. read more

A friend of mine wanted to try this place out because he said they had a nice environment where you could eat and smoke hookah. We arrived here at the opening time provided by their website and yelp. When arriving, the door was locked downstairs so we went upstairs to the lounge where the door was open. We noticed the buffet was still being setup which was fine as we were planning on ordering from the kitchen. It seemed as the owner/manager was surprised that we were there. He greeted us with much attitude. He said we could sit and they would be with us shortly. After sitting for about 20 minutes, we asked what time they opened and he said 12:00pm. So I asked why their website stated 11:30am and he responded "Nothing seems to ever be as it should huh". That was where I realized he didn't care for our business and because of that rude attitude, will never recommend or come back to this place.
