The interior was nice and plenty of space, but the service was lacking since we had to wait a while to get help throughout our time there. The menu was also a bit sticky/dirty at parts, need to get wiped. As Yousif A. said: "Food - good. Service terrible." I would add "Drinks okay straight out of a bottle, but don't count on competent cocktail mixing". Went there to try it out, with the wife. We stood in the entryway for what seemed like five minutes before anybody acknowledged that we were there and asked how many in our party. We sat down, perused the menu, made up our minds, and waited for what seemed like ten minutes before anybody came by to take our order. So, don't go there if you're in a hurry. (Or maybe they were just very shorthanded tonight? The place seemed at maybe 20% capacity.) We wanted drinks, but there were no drinks in the menu, nor a separate drinks menu on the table, so we asked for a drinks menu... and the waiter went off to get the bar menu. He didn't seem familiar with it when we ordered drinks. That said, ordering the food went fine, he asked what spice level we wanted, and recapped the whole order to make sure. The drinks arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and my wife's wine was fine, but my piña colada was full of pineapple pulp, clogging up the straw. The very NAME MEANS "strained pineapple", so there shouldn't be much if any pulp! Now for the good part. The food arrived surprisingly quickly. Both the paneer karaikudi and gongura chicken curry were delicious, medium spicy. (No idea how they compare to elsewhere; I decided on them to try them.) Then it was another long wait to try to catch someone's eye, to get the bill and some to-go boxes. (It would have been easier to catch the eye of the guy at the bar except for the bill of his baseball cap -- yes, worn indoors, but at least not backwards.) He brought the boxes and a bag (nice touch) and the bill at the same time, which made it a bit awkward juggling all that and my wallet and credit card, since there was nearly no room on the table to put anything. So overall, it seems to me like the kind of place started by a great fast cook, who doesn't know much about hiring good people to help actually run a restaurant, and didn't happen to do well this time around. I would try again in six months or so, hoping that he's read the reviews and taken corrective action re the staff, but by that time I'll have moved out of town. read more

So I found out about the place from a South Indian friend of mine. She really raved about this place and the fact this place is not to far got me very interested. I am happy to say overall it was very good! Now sadly I forgot to take pictures of the food but I was so hungry I just ate without thinking haha. But we got a plain dosa, Keema Dosa and a chicken briyani. And overall I enjoyed the food! the menu is sooo different from alot of places. Like its is very expansive (pretty intimidating) and so many options to choose from haha. the only issue I had with the food was the briyani because I wish there was little more chicken mixed in. But not bad. I gave this a 4 stars because as much as I liked what I got, service was good and decor is fire. Because there is so many options I wonder if they are constantly good across all the dishes. But if you are reading this dont let this 4 start deter you its more like I cant give out 5 stars unless I am confident. I will be going back for sure and will update this post in future. read more

Found my our new fav Indian restaurant! My fiance and I spontaneously stopped by this restaurant when we saw it had recently opened in a shopping center we frequent. We're very lazy when it comes to Indian food and typically default to chicken korma or butter chicken (I know, I know, I feel the shame myself). But when we first stepped foot in the restaurant we were immediately curious about their other offerings as they have an extensive menu. We were very intimidated by the menu but our waitress was super friendly and patient with us, never patronizing, and genuinely was invested in offering suggestions of things she thought we might like. We decided to try her personal favourite from the restaurant, Afghani curry, and because they have weekend pulav specials I tried the "country chicken" pulav. Both were incredible in flavour! Be warned that "medium" spicy is pretty spicy!!! My fiance handles spice better than me and usually asks for spicy at Thai and Korean restaurants... This was spicier than that! Our server was really nice and brought us more rice and yogurt and that definitely helped. Regardless of my lips and mouth being numb and I was sniffling through it but I just kept eating it cause it was so good Value was great, price was decent compared to some other nearby Indian restaurants but Hyderabad house has good sized portions and an upscale atmosphere without costing you an arm and a leg to eat there. We visited this new restaurant for lunch and started with the Rayalaseema Kodi Vepudu as an appetizer. I was expecting it to be a dry fry, but it turned out more like a fry-curry style dish. That said, the flavors were still good. For the entrée, we tried the Nawabi Mutton and Potlam Chicken Biryani. The Nawabi Mutton felt a bit dry, almost as if the pieces were added to the rice afterward, and I was hoping for something more moist and well-integrated. On the other hand, the Potlam Chicken Biryani was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, it's a new place with an extensive menu--almost too many items to choose from--but it has potential. read more

After a few subpar biryani endeavors in the area, my wife and I have finally found our go-to biryani spot in Hyderabad House. We immensely enjoyed the Atlanta location of this small chain of restaurants when we lived in that city, and we decided to check the Fairfax outpost based on reviews favorably comparing the two. While the taste we encountered was not a 100% match, the items we have ordered are very tasty and equally delicious in their own right. We always order the classic mutton dum biryani here, which arrives with a generous portion of tender goat layered in fragrant, well seasoned rice. The restaurant possesses a dazzling array of biryanis including unique options such as gongura and avakai. We also routinely order tasty chicken appetizers to accompany our biryanis, including the addictive chicken 555 and earthy uluvacharu chicken. While we have never dined in, the service has been pleasant and our orders have always been prepared properly and efficiently. The prices here are very reasonable given the quantity offered. Overall, we hope Hyderabad House keeps up the quality of cooking as we anticipate biryani meals here for years to come. read more

Food was great! The Butter Masala was very creamy and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The Chicken 65 was the perfect amount of spice and very flavorful. Lastly, the Garlic Naan was very buttery and paired well with the other dishes. I love the interior decor here, it fits very nicely. Saw this open up not too far from me and their menu looked good so I decided to put in an order for the Mutton rara biryani. It was ready within 15 mins or so of ordering. It looks like currently they're only available for pick up and the inside decor is still being set up. But so far, it's very beautiful inside. As for the biryani, it was phenomenal. It was very flavorful, had lots of fresh and fried onions and the meat was extremely tender. It reminded me of this other biryani place. I really love, but it's a bit too far from my home. So having this place close by, makes me very happy. If I could give one critique, I wish there was a little bit more meat considering the price. nonetheless, I'm very impressed and hope to sit down and eat here sometime when it officially opens for dine-in. read more

Worst biryani experience I've ever had. I ordered the Kaju Paneer Biryani and couldn't find a single visible piece of kaju or paneer in the entire biryani. When I asked, I was told it contains kaju paste and grated paneer instead. That's completely misleading--if there are no actual kaju or paneer pieces, don't call it Kaju Paneer Biryani. When I requested a replacement, the management told me they wouldn't do it "next time," even though this was my first visit. What disappointed me the most was that the owner/manager showed absolutely no concern for guest satisfaction. I also don't think they take Google reviews seriously or actually make changes based on customer feedback. Anyways, if you're reading this review, you know what to do. Just went here. Food - good. Service terrible. Not once did someone ask if my food was good, bad, or indifferent. They forgot two items that I ordered. And then when it came time to collect check they purposefully ignored me even though the waiter went on his smoke break and saw my wife left the store with my baby because they took their sweet time giving us the check. He re-entered the store and purposefully ignored me. I waited close to 8 mins before looking him in the eye and getting his attention. It's sad because the restaurant has amazing potential. The ambiance, the music, and even my original server were great... We left a good amount of food as the portions are generous: the waiter didn't even ask if we wanted it to go. I left fuming. Food: Tasted great but lack luster portion sizes for the price, especially our chicken dish. The goat dish we ordered tasted great but contained many small bones that were impossible to see but you could crack a tooth on. Service: Was good overall although lacking in some areas. Our waiter only was there to take our order and then to give us our check at the end. The woman who brought out our food didn't know what dishes were what and told us the chicken was goat which we later found out was chicken. When told about the issue with the bones the server apologized and thanked us for our suggestion. Ambiance: The place was nicely set up and themed. I came in for carry out and didn't have the opportunity to dine in. I was greeted in the front, ambiance is beautiful, welcoming, and clean. Their was a strong smell of some sort of incense in the front that was unpleasant, just a little too strong. Sachin was very kind and walked me through the different spice levels and I think I made a mistake in choosing medium spice since I wanted a little more then mild, because he did say mild is not spicy at all. I will be ordering mild next time because medium is hot this is good to know for my future visits. Portions are generous, freshly made, I ordered the Nawabi chicken biryani. Chicken was falling off the bone, really fresh! Will come back and order this another time in mild to eat thoroughly and not have to stop because it's too spicy. Live and learn! Can I repeat again and say how friendly everyone here is! As I waited Sachin offered me tea and seated me to enjoy the tea in peace while I waited for my food.
