It is a preppy dream, and carries everything from housewares to jewelry to baby clothes. There is no mens section, but that hardly matters when you are distracted by beautiful dresses for days. They also carry Milly, Trina Turk, and a few of my other favorite brands, so I had plenty to keep me busy. I am extremely disappointed and hurt by how I was treated during my visit today. I had previously…read morepurchased NeeDoh products from this store on Friday and Sunday, and each time I followed the posted limit of two per family. I have always been polite, respectful, and friendly during every visit. Today, I walked in and politely asked the younger employee behind the counter whether I could purchase NeeDohs. She said yes, but then immediately began acting strangely and appeared panicked as she went to speak quietly with another employee. That employee then picked up the phone and went into the back where I could not hear the conversation. Meanwhile, I was left standing at the counter feeling extremely uncomfortable, as though I had done something wrong. After waiting several minutes, I asked again whether I was allowed to purchase them. Eventually, another employee came back and told me they would not sell me any because I had been coming too often and other families wanted some. I was shocked because the posted sign said there was a limit of two per family, but it did not say customers could only purchase once, could not return on another day, or had to wait a certain amount of time between purchases. I calmly pointed to the sign and asked what the actual policy was so I would understand it for the future. While I was trying to ask this, another customer began yelling at the employee and making comments about me, saying not to respond because I supposedly just wanted to make the employee angry. This was incredibly embarrassing and humiliating. Instead of asking that customer to stay out of the conversation or simply explaining the policy to me, the younger employee accused me of arguing and told me I needed to leave. I left when asked and did not cause a scene. However, I walked out feeling like I had been treated more like a bad criminal than a repeat customer who had supported their business and simply wanted clarification about an unclear policy. I have never done anything to these employees or this store that would justify being treated with suspicion, disrespect, or hostility. I completely understand wanting to make limited products available to more families, but that policy should be clearly posted and communicated respectfully. A simple explanation would have been enough. No customer should be made to feel ashamed, singled out, or treated like a criminal for following the posted purchase limit and asking a reasonable question.

They brought me exactly one in that style and then brought several others that did not fit. They did not have many in my size but would not say so. Most of their bras were for very large breasts. They charge for a fitting which is deducted when you buy a bra. I bought a bra which was about two hundred dollars. I think I wore it once. It was not comfortable. I am older and not very big. I will never go back.

I wasn't…read moresure what to expect after the bride recommended stopping here, and still wasn't sure as I pulled up to the small office building space. But once I walked inside I knew I'd come to the right place: racks upon racks filled with all sorts of saris and traditional gowns. The owner, Gita, was wonderful, she helped point me in the right direction and gave me advice on what to wear: style, color, how to fix my hair, jewelry to wear, etc. I was able to try on several different outfits, most ranging between $99-110 (that's the lowest quote she could give me on the gowns, there were more expensive options though, and the sari's start around $35). My only complaint is that the dresses are as they come, you can have sleeves added if there is extra fabric that comes with the dress (I was quoted $7 for both sleeves which includes a tucking in of the bodice as well). But if the dress does fit or doesn't fit, that's the risk you run. My gown, a beautiful long navy blue dress with silver stitching across the bodice, cost $99+tax. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Roopkala and would return in the future for a traditional Indian dress.

The customer service was great, and we did not face any rude behavior like the other reviewers have mentioned.
