Phoenix Global Green School has been an incredible experience for our family. From the moment we toured, it felt different from any other school. The teachers are nurturing, kind, and truly invested in the children. I love that my daughter spends time gardening every day and that creativity and learning are encouraged through play. The environment feels thoughtful, calm, and very child-centered. I'm also amazed at how much French and Spanish she has already picked up. And I have to mention the food. We are not vegan, but the food at this school is honestly amazing. It's fresh, thoughtful, and far better than what we expected from a school program. We feel very lucky to be part of this community. Our child entered Phoenix Global Green School at age 2 and we cannot recommend this school more! The environment is immediately warm, inviting, creative, and joyful. The teachers clearly enjoy what they do and appreciate the unique character of each child. I love that we get regular updates about our child's development and daily events at pickup. The children spend a large part of the day outside learning, playing, doing art projects, and tending to their garden. Their music class is basically a daily all out dance party. Since starting, our kido has only been sick once in 5 months! Maybe its a coincidence but my hunch is that its due to amount of time they spend outside.....Thats a gift in itself! There is a focus on the minimizing waste and reusing materials and the teachers are incredibly innovative as they create art projects, cardboard puppets, and costumes by giving a second life to used materials. Since starting our child's curiosity for life has exploded and she is now singing in 3 languages (despite the fact that we only speak English at home). Nothing could make me happier that seeing our kido run into school everyday with a big smile and knowing she is thriving in a safe and warm environment. We sent our daughter here after a less than great experience somewhere else in the neighborhood. Our daughter has absolutely blossomed. Ms Celine and the other teachers are so caring and nurturing. Our daughter already spoke Spanish and has been able to continue with Spanish while learning French too. She looks forward to school every day and it's a truly wonderful community. We're here for summer camp with our 2.5 year old and couldn't be happier. We had a negative experience in a prior HP preschool so enrolled in the summer camp program and wish we had made the swap sooo much sooner. It's such a warm and fun environment - the teachers are so lovely, they provide a healthy lunch and snack every day, and the kids spend basically all day outside. Our little one comes home singing in French and Spanish, they do so many art activities and we love the focus on green/sustainable materials. They are so creative! I feel like the tour doesn't give you the full view into what the school offers - it's really exceeded our expectations. read more

Look no more. This is the absolute best school. Céline (school director) is passionate about child education in a culturally diverse and GREEN atmosphere. This is our third year as part of this school community, and it feels like having a second home for our kids. They learn four different languages (french, spanish, mandarin and english), have baking classes, they garden, do yoga, dance, sing, and the art is absolutely amazing and so creative. The academics is also top notch, my kids can sing, count and express themselves in multiple languages. And everything is taught in such fun and creative ways. They have outdoor classrooms which we love (as well as indoors when it rains etc). They make a big point in using recycled material, and make their own costumes for school shows with recycled cardboard etc. I am blown away by the creativity that the staff shows year after year. Celine ensures a warm and caring environment for kids and teachers, and families. I love getting throughout the day pictures and videos of the kids. We also get lesson plans each day, and links to resources of activities to do at home. Twice a year they organize a one on one teacher/parents meeting to talk about the progress our kids are doing at school. Our son left this year as he started kindergarten in another school. He misses PGGS so much, the community of friends he built there, but also the bond he rapidly developed with the wonderful and caring teachers. Our daughter (3) is still enrolled full time at PGGS, and will be there for another two years. Thank god. I am not ready to say goodbye to this school, and its wonderful community. read more

We are so lucky to be enrolled at Phoenix. Our kids two and a half and has been there for seven months. He eats all the delicious lunches and snacks each day, enjoys the carefully planned activities and lessons, naps most of the time, and comes home very happy! A gem in Highland Park! Our daughter comes home singing all different languages and after just 6 months, can understand a lot of French and Spanish and Mandarin. As a full time working mom, I also don't have to worry about packing a lunch/snacks in the morning and it's a relief knowing the school is serving fresh healthy organic vegan food while also teaching them to be eco-friendly and how to cook/bake/garden/yoga/meditate/sing etc etc. I appreciate the great yard with playgrounds, swings, bikes, sandboxes, fruit trees for kids to be kids! We've visited a a good amount of preschools and many were pretentious or seemed to care more about money than the kids but this place felt different and super aligned with my values. The parents have been awesome, too! I'm so glad we found PGGS! read more

My daughter has had the most incredible year there and her French has advanced in leaps and bounds as well as her Spanish and Chinese. Highly recommend. Our son is thriving there. In short: 1. Amazing enrichment activities: baking/cooking, music/dance, fine motor/arts and crafts 2. Caring and knowledgeable staff 3. Best outdoor area. Lots of active, outdoor play. Very secure space. 4. Best menu. All food provided, very healthy and homemade. 5. Great teacher to child ratio. 6. Immersive language program.( Evidence supports children 0-3 need as much exposure to non dominant languages as possible to be able to reach fluency as adults.) 7. Multicultural community. 8. Great communication. Tons of photos and very responsive to texts during the day. Our 2 year old son has been in childcare since 10 months old. We are an international couple that has had to move across countries, and so our son had to attend multiple daycares. He adjusted to PGGS SO FAST. I was honestly in disbelief and amazed. Especially because he has some separation anxiety and he cried for months in other daycares when I had to drop him off which broke my heart...at PGGS he absolutely loves going and runs to the school. The adaptation period was much, much faster. He repeats what he's done at school, very excited. This has made it much easier for me knowing he is happy. Very grateful!! read more

We are incredibly happy to be a part of the Phoenix community. I had 3 alumni parents recommend the school to us when we were searching for a preschool. Our daughter is learning in an environment with other kids her age and kids aging up to 6 years old and we've already seen her absorb so much from learning being around older kids instead of being confined to her singular age group. It's very important to us for our daughter to learn about the world and Phoenix does an amazing job integrating languages (primarily french and spanish/mandarin) culture, environment, and child-led creativity. We get updates with lessons, their meals, nap-times and photos throughout the day so we always know what our child is up to and she's being fed well (super important especially since we are both working parents). A wonderful school all around. My daughter has attended for over two years, and she loves going to school everyday. We see improvements in her languages weekly. The food they cook is organic and healthy. And my daughter is already grasping large concepts about environmentalism, different cultures around the world, and the staff has helped her to understand how to express her emotions and feelings in a very healthy way. Our daughter received wonderful care a PGGS. She loves her teachers and is excited to go to school everyday. She sings songs in french, she can count in french, she has learned so much. The daily menu is also just packed with veggies and good things and she eats it all. We love the school and all the teachers. This is a truly one of a kind school! We started our kid here during covid and never worried once. They followed protocols like masking up, social distancing and lots of hand washing! That aside, they let children to just be children. Academics are not a focus even though they teach the kids three different languages (French, Spanish and Mandarin) The kids get to play, do plenty of crafts and garden in the dirt. And the vegetables/fruits they grow go into the nutritious school lunch that is provided! Morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks are vegan and cooked in-house with fresh ingredients. That is such a godsend for busy parents! It was such a gentle place to start our kid's school journey. He still talks about his time there and we would recommend this school to anyone! read more

Phoenix is a wonderful place, our daughter is so happy there. It's a vibrant, thoughtful and creative environment. The teachers are very dedicated and put so much into the lessons and projects. The most incredible school. So much attention to everything they do. So much focus on making it all environmental friendly, green, all the food they make is vegan and organic.. WHAT A TREAT ! The kids have so much outdoors space, they do gardening, cooking, yoga, music lessons, learn French, Spanish, chinese.. And the community of parents is unparalleled with anything I've ever experienced. We are French and my kid didn't speak any English before going to Phoenix and is now fluent in both French and English at 3 1/2 years old. He also comes back home singing songs in mandarin and so many words in Spanish, and i can tell he really understands all Spanish. Sadly we are moving back to France and i am so sad about leaving this absolutely perfect school and wish there was an equivalent in Paris. My son has been attending from age 3, and we plan to keep him there until he enters Kinder. He is learning French, Spanish and Chinese (his favorite.) He loves his teachers. The vegan food is amazing, and he has been eating so many new foods since starting there. During Covid, the protocols have been excellent. They mask, space the kids for projects, and have outdoor classrooms set up. He has not even gotten a cold through all of this. The teachers are loving and excellent at creating an enriching environment. We could not be happier. read more

My grandson attends this wonderful school. He now understands French, sings in Spanish and French, loves to garden, eats healthy, and loves going to school everyday. PGGS is very special preschool. We toured many schools in our search and immediately felt that Phoenix was unique. We have been there for over a year and are very happy to see the growth in our son. He takes a long time to warm up to new experiences and Celine and the excellent teachers were warm and patient with him. The house and play areas are great, with a lot of outdoor space where the kids have helped plant fruit bushes, vegetables, and trees. Everything about the school - the organic vegetarian meals that teach kids about flavor and variety, the focus on sustainability throughout, the creative curriculum - has been carefully thought out to create an engaging experience for the children. We have enrolled our three years old daughter at PGSS in October of 2020 and could not have been happier. The school director Céline, has put together a curriculum that is multilingual and although our daughter was already bilingual in French and English, we find her singing in Chinese or in Spanish at times when she plays at home. She just enjoys it! The care and attention given to every child is real. Every day we receive updates and photos from our child and her classmates showing what they've done or what they've eaten for lunches, via a very user friendly App. All the meals are cooked on site daily. The emphasis on living a healthy lifestyle in a healthy planet is there! We also really enjoy the thoughts put into the activities and crafts that the children do: they are not done randomly but done with a purpose so that the children can connect things together, from maths, science or nature. When I first visited Phenix Global Green School I immediately fell in love with the place. Everything, from the wooden furniture and toys, real plates and glasses that the children eat from, an incredibly healthy and delicious diet to the amazing multilingual program, appealed to me. The teachers are very friendly and approachable, it was obvious that they enjoy working at Celine's school and bring a lot of fun and a wealth of teaching experience to the program. I haven't found another school in LA that introduces pre-k kids to three languages. Having done my own research and spoken to a UCSB linguist, I can only applaud Celine for choosing the multilingual approach. It is incredibly beneficial for children of such young age to hear and speak different languages. In fact, it is the most efficient and successful way to have your child become fluent in one or several languages. I highly recommend the school. read more
