BUYER BEWARE---from the moment you hit the "Buy Now!" button, you have given this company and its owner, Yucel, complete control. I was shopping for a headshot photo for my new book. As a retired homicide detective who has dedicated years to serving the citizens of Phoenix in that capacity, I'm new to all of this promotional stuff and was hoping to find a professional who was friendly and could guide me. A professional who believed in making the customer happy and not just focusing on the money. I read his reviews, and Phoenix Headshots seemed favorable. The budget package also looked affordable compared to another quote I had received. However, I SHOULD have called and had a conversation with this company before hitting that trap buy button. That would have saved me a lot of heartache. Once I clicked and entered my credit card information, the website gave no further instructions and left me in limbo, which I thought was odd. A message of what to do next or when and how they would reach out to schedule an appointment would have been appreciated. After waiting, I was proactive and left a voicemail. The owner (identified himself as Yucel) finally called me back. He was extremely condescending throughout the 10 minute conversation and kept mentioning the repercussions of not showing up for my appointment. I couldn't figure out why he was so concerned when I had fronted him the full amount---a hefty deposit I must say for work not completed. I also thought he had a storefront studio per the website, yet it was a private residence. The whole situation made me extremely uncomfortable. Our personalities did not mesh at all, and things got worse. My family went on a trip to Florida the week before my appointment, and we were in the direct path of Hurricane Milton. I sent him a text message explaining things and never heard back for several days. Finally, I interrupted my family vacation and just called him. At this point and collectively, I did not have a good feeling about him or his company and kindly requested a cancellation and full refund. I felt it to be a very reasonable request since he had done nothing but process the credit card, complete a short 10-minute conversation with me, and schedule the appointment weeks in advance. Instead, Yucel said absolutely not and said he was keeping all of the money. I was shocked as I had given him ample notice of cancellation and he rendered no photography service (zero). He pulled out some legal disclaimer which to me seemed rather shady not to mention completely devoid of any level of professionalism or customer service. This was a truly HORRIBLE experience. I believe in companies that ultimately make the customer happy, and this was NOT the case. I don't care how good his photography is, he did not treat me like a customer or act like a professional. Also, please also note that looking back at the reviews many of them are rather old. Bottom line: Be careful, have a conversation with this fellow prior to giving him any money, and shop around. read more

After reading the reviews both on Yelp and google I emailed my contact to Yucel, he responded in a timely fashion and after discussing what my 14 year old daughter needed I booked her appointment. My daughter is an aspiring actress/model and she was in need of many different pictures to capture both careers, I'm so glad I found Yucel!! I went back to Yucel after 3 years, as I needed an updated head shot. I appreciate that he takes time up front to talk about what I'm trying to convey with the picture, what mood I want, where I'm going to be posting it, etc. Then we go take a whole bunch of photos, look at them to see which ones we like and why, and then we go take some more and keep going until we get the one we want. Then he does all the photoshopping right there and makes sure I'm happy with it before we call it done. We spent about two hours together. He is an artist, not just someone snapping photos. What a great experience taking my first headshots ever! Yucel knows what he's doing which made me very comfortable knowing I was in good hands. He made sure to explain to me how small movements in my posture can change the outcome of the picture dramatically. Let me tell you, I do NOT photograph well. That's been my story my whole life! I groan when people bring out the cameras. But Yucel helped me relax, we laughed while he took pictures, and lo and behold, he made me look great!
