When I ordered a large popcorn it came in a bag, when the young lady behind me informed me only the jumbo is in a bucket (my error) I asked if I can pay the difference for a bucket... his answer. I got tickets with my family to see the Barbie movie and we had a great time. The movie was really good and the seats were the comfortable lounge chairs that you can adjust to either lie down, sit up, or anything in between. The chairs had a unique feature, though, because they had a seat-warming option, which I hadn't seen anywhere else. It was really cool. Although the theater didn't have any promotional items sold for the movie like other theaters, that didn't make it any less enjoyable. Meh. This place always seems to be covered in butter and sticky with soda. And the staff, even the "managers," are teenagers who don't understand anything about listening to customers or how they can help us so we'll actually want to come back. We keep coming back to this theater! The reclining seats are the best ones we've found and we enjoy the ability to lift up the center console when attending as a couple. They're spacey and heated and the staged seating ensures everyone has a full view of the movie screen. The snacks are fresh, the tickets very reasonable and the bathrooms have been clean! read more

Worst experience ever!!!! We bought our tickets ahead of time online, got to the theatre to find out the seats were sold twice. Manager gave us tickets to rebook only to find out you cannot book online with Disney movies. Went through the corporate office and the "booked" our seats a second time. Got to the theatre the 2nd time with no seats available again. We live 45 minutes away. I just spoke with corporate again and the suggested emailing the tickets. NO compensation for driving a total of 3 hours and paying for parking twice. Will never go back. Management did nothing to assist read more

This was a surprisingly great theatre. Seats recline and are heated, and the staff was nothing but wonderful. I really enjoyed my movie time while on spring break with my teens. Not many movie theaters around here so I thought this was going to be just a run of the mill spot since there's not really much competition but it was such a great little gem! Great place to see a movie and Berkshire owned. The new recliner chairs are amazingly comfortable and every seat in the house has a great view. Prices are also more reasonable than the mall cinema. Can you believe a $6 matinee still exists? There is a lot of free parking on nights and weekends in the lot behind the theater. Could they make the experience better? This movie theater is awesome!! It's very well organized and I like that you can buy your tickets and food at the same time, so you only have to pay once. You also get to choose your seat (like on an airplane), to make sure your whole group can sit together. The staff is nice, and they have a good selection of snacks, with very reasonably priced beer and wine. The reclining chairs are VERY comfortable, and I like that they are pleather/faux leather rather than upholstered, which can be kind of gross. Overall, this is a fantastic set up from start to finish - truly an amazing place to enjoy a movie! read more

Really do like the theater itself - but they have this crazy policy of not giving anyone cups with their beer or canned drinks. It's nice the serve beer and wine, but it would be even nicer if I could get a glass to go with it. They did say I could pay $6 for a cup, Same with water - you are forced to buy an overpriced bottle of water rather than tap water. My mother (a young 80) needs a cane and a bit of help to walk, and wanted to go see a movie. The manager assisted us, and went above and beyond what needed to be done. He made sure that the ramp was clear enough for her, and let her enter the theater to find a seat a few minutes before the excited crowd. He not only earned my respect as a fellow Berkshire County businessman, he earned this 5 star review for Beacon Cinema, and definitely earned repeat customers! In addition to the amazing customer service, the seats are great, and with the way the theater seating is arranged, every seat is a great seat. Thank you Beacon Cinema staff for such a great experience! My last review of this business was in 2013. ( It was also a five star ) 12/16/2013 Very nice, parking in the back in the winter is the only drawback. Another reviewer said it before, but the lines when busy can be a bit messy, they should work on that. Just like every movie house, expect to pay more for their snacks. read more

LOBBY - Clean and modern. Plenty of space for milling around. CONCESSIONS - Good selection and not overly expensive. MOVIE SELECTION - The Beacon always has a great selection of movies. Everything from the latest blockbuster to art house films. THEATERS - Medium sized with stadium seating. Seat are very comfortable though there's nit quite enough leg/knee room between rows. With plenty of food options in the area for before/after the movie, the Beacon is an all around great choice when you want to catch a film. read more

Last week I joined eight of my Opera loving friends to see the live at the Met at the Beacon. We were all appalled to have the Beacon employees searching for and confiscating food from patrons. The reason for this crude policy is not for sanitary reasons, but merely to ensure sales at the Beacon's own concessions. We were told by another patron that they witnessed an elderly gentleman being escorted out by a policeman for refusing to give up his personal food. Myself and friends all determined not to return until the policy is changed. Next week we will all enjoy Don Giovanni at the Mahaiwe in Great Barrington. read more

Great - how can you complain about cheap tickets, really comfortable seats, spacious seating with room to spare, and alcohol! Ipic charges 3 times for movie tickets for roughly the same type type of seating and viewing - you're getting luxury at a huge discount, especially for 62 and over. I wish I could give less than one star. I have never been more disrespected by a business in he Berkshires. I called the theater to inquire about a showing I was hoping to buy tickets to but was unavailable online. They shared that they were experiencing technical difficulties for that showing, but assured me that the later showing would be good to go and sold me tickets. Hours later, when I arrived, I was informed that the movie could not be screened (for the same issue) but I (and my family) was asked to wait while they resolved the issue and promised updates. Only when I heard employees talking in the back of the theater did I learn that there was no chance I would be seeing the film. Technical difficulties occur, but they should be handled responsibly and accountably. Not with deception and malaise. I know now one theater in the Berkshires I will never again give a single cent. read more

I love this theater but am giving only 2 stars for CS. Must say the current staff needs some excessive training. We are living in pandemic times but there is no consideration for safety when it comes to sharing food. You can charge patrons $10 for a popcorn but refuse them an extra bucket or bag for sharing and for the fact that the $.50 buckets are leaking butter on our clothes? I went to see black panther at the Becon and there was a tall woman ( girl) that was very rude. I had a bagpack with a extra Hoodie and my cell phone and charger in it. Now I don't mind if they have someone look though to make sire it's safe to bring in but they make me put my bag on the floor in a janitor closet with the door open and anyone who walks in has access to it. Then I asked why they let the people in front of us bring there purses in when there purses where as big if not bigger then my bagpack and the woman got even more rude and said it's different....please explain how. So if I was a woman the bag is acceptable.... the way the woman approached the situation was unprofessional she was rude and talked down to me for have a bagpack.... I go to the Becon alot but from now on I'll stream my movies with my gf.... I don't go out to spend money to be talked down to or treated like crap cause I carry my belongings in a backpack.... oh and I don't bring food in ever I buy it in the movies that's part of the experience.... I will say the manager was very nice and tried to accommodate me without going back on what the other employee said ..... also it took 5 employees to bring my bag out back ......why..... and who is held accountable for my belongings? read more
