I knew it was going to be a difficult task, given that I myself am a photographer and designer, so visuals were at the absolute top of my list. When we found Nicole we couldn't believe how easy she was to work with. We scheduled our engagement photo session in Santa Barbara one cloudy day and got to know her and her ultra helpful husband Scott. My now husband does not like to be in photographs. In fact, after a decade of being together, the engagement shoot was our first formal portrait session that we had ever taken. He was nervous, and so was I - but Nicole made us feel completely at ease. She was great at making us feel loose and worked with us to make sure we felt comfortable. Our photos came out amazing, and everyone we showed them to agreed! Months later, she took the time to speak with me before the wedding to go over every aspect that was important for me to capture. She was incredibly patient with me, since like I said, I am quite detail oriented! All throughout the process I always felt that she was part of "my team" and that I could count on her for whatever was needed. On the actual wedding day I was nervous of course but she worked wonders to capture the best possible photos in every location. Compared to other photographers I got quotes from, there was just so much more included with these guys it almost didn't seem possible! 2. There are two of them. Trust me - this is a HUGE added benefit. Just think about all of the moments in your wedding where you want a photo of more than one vantage point but won't get them with a single photographer. Think about when you're walking down the aisle - you want a photo of the grooms reaction too don't you? Maybe everyone is dancing with the cute flower girl but the cake comes out while everyone is distracted - perfect time to get both shots. 3. They are laid back and open to your ideas. Both of their demeanor is really relaxed and calm. This isn't as important during an engagement shoot, but during the craziness of a wedding it is really nice to have a team that is confident in what they do, with a quiet authority among wrangling family members, the chaos that comes with a wedding day's schedule of events, etc. I really wanted several specific photos and they were open to seeing my vision come to life and they captured it perfectly! 4.
