Photoscope does the thing. My thing is walking in with old 8MM/Super 8MM film reels and getting them digitized, on time, and quality file (MO4) outputs. It means a lot when you're the (globally diverse) family media archivist with film from back in late 1940s. It's not cheap but quality is not ever cheap. I have fam from Quebec who give me reels in old yellow Kodak boxes because I (Photo Scope down the street) can get it done. read more

My office walls (back in the days when we went to offices outside of our own homes) were once covered in photos of my kids (back in the days when we printed photos of our kids) -- many of which were processed by Tony and his staff. Always the best outcomes. On a whim, I've decided to shop for a camera -- a real camera, a relatively obscure brand at a relatively obscene cost. Since I had to drop off an unexpected find for processing,-- an unprocessed 35 mm roll that I found in the corner of my new (i.e. basement) office -- I took the opportunity to ask Tony for camera advice. He didn't hesitate to reach out and connect me to a local expert on the camera I was looking at. (Tony's a Nikon man, I'm not...yet.) Probably 10-15 years have passed since the days that I was a regular customer, but you would never have guessed it from the friendly and attentive service from Tony -- just like the old days, but with less hair and more mid-section. I have 8 mm videotapes to transfer and a box of family photo to digitize. I'll update the review when I get it all gathered together and Tony takes care of it. read more

We walked into Photo Scope Studios in need of a memorial tribute slideshow to celebrate the life of our 101-year-old mother. Tony's consultation was invaluable. We walked out with his expert guidance for digital photos, prints and slides to be scanned, horizontals vs verticals, sequence, background color, how to get hi-res cell phone images, how to add "late arriving" photos, title and graphic slides, music (MP3s) to fit runtime (# slides x 5 seconds), delivery options by link and/or thumb drive. Everything we needed to pull the show together. Tony turned around our non-digital print scans and book-cover photos in a day. While Tony enhanced the 160+ images--and we searched music--everything was in his hands by Tuesday. Seven days later we screened the 15-minute video in Tony's studio. Brilliant. Beautiful sequencing. They helped my mother out with British Passport photos in a pinch. Her renewal was held up because the photos she sent weren't correct. They told her if she didn't get proper ones to them immediately they would trash her application and keep her $200 fee. I sent her to Photo Scope from Leesburg based on good reviews because no one in town knew the requirements for British photos. They helped her out and she got the correct photos off to England by FedEx and they saved her application successfully. read more

We are a military family and have had many sport pictures done. Teenager had team photos done. My daughter tried to tell him that she has a knee disorder and can't kneel, he said it would be quick. Her knee popped out of place and she fell over. He told her to get back on her knee. The whole team was upset and she was crying in pain. It's not his fault but he could have listened and then not acted shady when I tried to talk to him about it. He is getting paid for a service. Professionalism and some kindness maybe. I was in need of some passport photos where the passport office had very strict technical requirements and routinely rejected a large number of applications for not meeting the requirements. When I went to submit my application, not only was the passport office happy with the photos, they were impressed and were asking where I'd gotten them done. These aren't your typical slapdash passport photos you get at some places--these are very carefully done and can be matched to the specific requirements of whichever passport office you need. I've now gotten passport photos for other family members here, and the service has been unfailingly excellent and friendly. Tony is great with kids and grown-ups alike and will make sure you're happy with the photo.
