My son was seen there in September of 2025 in the Roland Park office and many of the days he only saw a student and very little supervision from the actual PT. read more

I've been going to PT First on Cold Spring Lane on and off for almost 10 years, and my experience has been uniformly excellent. They are knowledgeable and caring, and the facility is very well equipped. (Do not be put off by the rather shabby building! The location is convenient and there's plenty of parking.) read more

Very disappointed with their PT services. The initial visit was spent with Ray describing the lower back and hand issues and then I received approximately 5 minutes of treatment and a heating pack on one of the two areas requiring treatment. The first 15 minutes of the second visit was spent reviewing the notes and issues described in the initial visit with a with a different person (JoAnne). The rest of the visit was comprised of a massage to my lower back and 15 minutes on a heating pad. No exercises were recommended or any other treatment - very poor therapy compared to any other PT service I have used (especially the amazing physical therapist I now use, who is absolutely brilliant and has made a difference already). Ray did not inform me during the initial visit that the follow-up visit he arranged had been made with a different therapist (who was unable to provide some of the treatment we discussed in the initial visit). Furthermore, he is now completely booked for 4 months - no appointments until January (it is October) at which point they stated that another intake would have to be done because of the length of time between visits. I do not recommend this office, I am actually thankful this happened because I would have been spending my time and energy in an incompetent, poorly managed and ineffective environment rather than the fabulous PT facility I found instead! read more

I have experienced painful night-time cramping in my lower legs(shin splints) for at least 15 years. No relief followed the advice from orthopedic surgeons, internal medicine doctors, sports medicine doctors, and wearing orthotics; that is until evaluation and treatment by Lillian Byington aka Dr. Lillian. One dry needle treatment, comprehensive education about the causes of my disorder /dysfunctional anatomy, and an extensive care plan of stretches, exercises and the seemingly simple advice of loosening my shoelaces, all resulted in the first three weeks free of pain in fifteen years. When you first pull up the building doesn't look very inviting but upon stepping in it is completely different! The office is clean and the staff members are awesome. They are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and I actually look forward to my sessions. I have been to several physical therapy places but this one really makes me feel like they care about my issue and truly want me to feel my best. In other places I've been it wasn't always one-on-one with the physical therapist but every time I come here I get their undivided attention like I am the only person in the room- which is very important to me. I visited Physical Therapy First in June 2020 and was introduced to a professional and highly therapist-Logan, who evaluated my pain in my neck, back and legs. I have suffered for over 15 years with the pain only getting worse. I was evaluated fully and asked many questions about my background and the possible source of pain. This level of PT questions left me with the feeling that the therapist had thorough and considerable knowledge of my pain and my general health system. This was a wholistic approach to the many facets of my pain. I also received PT from Sarah who not only worked intently on my pain, but also worked on my mental disposition and why I have had so many years of pain. These conversations were reassuring and gave me comfort. I was also cared for by Joanne who was simply unbelievable. She employed a massage technique that targeted my trigger points when my pain was at its worse. She treated me when I was in a literal pain crisis and gave me relief. In addition to this I also developed a PT relationship with Kayla and Joey. I have been very fortunate to have been served by a team of highly skilled professionals who not only care for my body, but also offered support, kindness and a sense that my many pain functions could be treated with the hope that I can live a functional and stable life. I have completed my time at Physical Therapy 1st after 41 sessions. I went to the Roland Park Physical Therapy First it was about my ankle swelling up badly. The owner John recommended that I get custom made insoles.I wore them for a day and noticed the insoles didn't help but made my situation worse. My ankle swelled more and my knee started to throb. I went back to the treatment center to return the insoles and was denied a refund. I asked to see where it said "No Refunds" on the intake form and he couldn't because it didn't address refunds. after denying me a refund, he offered to write me a check for the insoles but he would take off $60 that "I owed him for a previous visit and today's visit". But I didn't owe him money because I cancelled the previous visit within the allotted time. I had also been there after that cancelled appointment an there was never any mention of me owing him anything. And for the appointment today, I was never treated. I just came to return the insoles because INSTEAD OF HELPING ME, THEY CAUSED MORE PAIN. So after I told him that he owed me more than just $50, he began antagonizing me. Please keep in mind that this is the OWNER that I was dealing with. he kept telling me that he didn't know the correct amount that I was owed because his bookkeeper was gone for the day. So I asked him why did he write a check then...obviously he knew he owed me money. I told him that if he couldn't issue me a check at that time then I would like a written statement that I was to be refunded my money for the insoles. Needless to say, he refused and strung me along until the business closed. The owner's customer service was very poor and I was treated very disrespectfully. NO CUSTOMER SHOULD BE TREATED THIS WAY!!! Stay away from Physical Therapy First because they only care about your money, not helping you. read more

I just completed eight weeks of physical therapy at the Roland Park location of Physical Therapy First on Cold Spring Lane. The treatment that I received there was phenomenal. They addressed problems that other practices had been unable to handle or ignored. My PT, Sarah, went out of her way to answer my many questions, review resources, and lower my fears about ongoing pain. She was gifted at providing appropriate treatment that effectively addressed the problem without causing further or unnecessary discomfort. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. read more
