She turned me away at the door and could t even simply tell me to just go to the ER. There was no visit, I went in, spoke with the counter ladies and was turned away with no information. She was thorough, professional, listened, asked questions and took zero shortcuts. I have a peptic ulcer that just will not go away. She took 2 hrs and it was easy to tell by her deportment that she really cares. It's interesting because that is a snapshot of the providers who serve at the Doctor's Office. My family and I have gone there for 3 years now. I recently got health insurance. However I trust the Doctor's Office with my healthcare. One more story. My father passed away from Covid-19/Pneumonia last January. The hospital did nothing for him. He lost over 20lbs in 10 days. After a battle we got him home. I called the Brookfield location and NP Jennifer Dall was working. They were just closing. I told her what was going on with my dad. She asked if I could get there soon. I said I'm about 30-35 minutes away. She waited. She did everything she could to help my dad. She went out of her way. Unfortunately, by the time the pneumonia had spread too much. But Jennifer Dall saw me again with a 2 minute notice. I'll never forget how well she served my family. Only wish she had seen my father sooner. Dr Barney, NP Margot Harris, PA-C Maggie McGraw, NP Erika Bourdeaux and Family NP Courtney Castelein. Maggie is my wife's favorite practitioner! Sorry so long. They did give me a physical on the spot, so that was cool. The results of the visit were a prescription, and a report back on my blood test. It appeared as if the clinic never took action on getting back to me with the results of the blood test, nor sending in the prescription that came out of the visit. After multiple calls, and about 3 weeks of time elapsed, I did eventually get the results of my blood test. Same was true of the prescription. OK turned out that they were not calling my phone #, rather someone else's. Fast forward to just recently, I went in for a scheduled appointment. When I got there I was informed that the Dr. would be about 15 minutes late. An hour later, many patients came and went while I sat waited. I became frustrated and left. I may try a different branch office, but I'll never be going to the Darien office again

The nurse practitioner there, Danielle Battistoni, correctly identified advanced cellulitis from a wasp sting - she LITERALLY saved my life! Where many would have just given me some kind of cream to rub onto the huge thigh-covering welt, she correctly diagnosed cellulitis and sent me to the emergency room at a local hospital. She even called ahead and gave the hospital all my info, so that when I got there I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to see a doc and be put on IV antibiotics. 4 hours and 2 bags of IV antibiotics later, I was already feeling much better. The ER doc told me that Nurse Practitioner Battistoni made an "excellent call" in my case, and said that if I had delayed treatment any longer, the cellulitis would have gone systemic - resulting in septicemia (which is deadly). Who knew you could get a life-threatening illness from a wasp sting? The NP at Minute Clinic did! My husband and I are both very grateful to have access to the excellent care provided at South Elgin Minute Clinic.

She asked questions and took my blood pressure. Felt my throat and looked in my ears to tell me I had some water and it would go away on its owe. The bill came and it was 580.00 dollars. WTF - for what - my doctor charges so much less. After insurance I still had to pay 140.00 dollars- what??? For real - That is what the appointment should have cost in total. So crazy - I will call my doctor next time.

Since it was only a 6 minute wait I got dressed and arrived at 9:05. There are 3 people in line ahead of me with a 40 minute wait! Ugh! She explained that there were already people physically in line at the store at 7:00 am so she made the online "line" unavailable until 10:00 am. This should be stated on the website. If I had known that I would have gotten dressed and come at 7:00 this morning! This online sign up is seriously flawed. Not to mention, the way the nurse explained it was condescending and she lacked empathetic customer service. I'm not sick often so I don't know the ins and outs of getting a good place in line. I answered the required questions about symptoms, personal details, consents and insurance. I got to the point at which the system told me I was 60% done with the scheduling process. The only remaining step was the pre-appointment check-in. This feature, however, showed a lock icon and said it would be available at 9:15, 15 minutes before my appointment. I received two texts after this reminding me to do the pre-check-in, but there was no way to complete it. After a half hour I got another text saying that my appointment had been cancelled because I had not done the pre-check in. When I attempted to start again, I was told the next available appointment was not until 11:50 a.m. Went through all the steps again with the same result--got to 60% complete and was told I needed to do the pre-check in, but the feature was locked--" Will be available at 11:35." Received text telling me appointment had been cancelled. Note on the website said Walk-Ins Welcome: Current wait time 1 hour 50 minutes. Went into the store to try to talk to a human being. While waiting, thought I'd try to make an appointment at their customer kiosk (or see whether one of those I'd already made had magically registered in their system. The kiosk was offline. Waited 20 minutes, during which time I attempted to make another appointment on my phone. Told next available appointment was at 2:50 p.m.--mind you, only an hour and a half had elapsed since I started attempting to make the first appointment. Healthcare provider on duty came out and I attempted to explain what had been happening. She turned the kiosk on and gave an explanation that some appointments had been cancelled that morning, so the system was thrown off--well, yeah?! There were only two people in the waiting room and two names on the screen shown as waiting or being seen. Healthcare worker said she couldn't tell me how long I'd have to wait as a walk-in, as she was the only one there--could be several hours...or was possible I wouldn't be seen at all. Student intern walked through steps to try to schedule an appointment--next available 6:50 p.m. "Would you like that one?" she asked--at which point I gave up and went home to bed. What a mess and what an insane runaround to put people through who are already physically miserable. CVS Minute Clinic needs to do some serious work on their system. Patient care and compassion is not at the forefront for this facility.
