After getting deplorable treatment at 3 E. Golf rd, I decided to try a different Take Care location…read morebefore writing them off completely. This time, I made an appointment online, to secure my spot. Just be sure to have the confirmation code with you. It saves you time at the kiosk. I signed in, and a smiling face (Susan Walker) emerged from the exam room. She told me she was running on schedule, and that she would be with me at 5:45, my appointment time. Sure enough, at 5:45, it was my turn. A few questions, and an exam resulted in a prescription for some antibiotics, and a few tips for comfort. When the pharmacy filled my Rx, it was going to be over $40 with insurance. Susan heard me say how expensive it was, came out, and wrote a new Rx to see if it was going to be cheaper. It was $5. The pharmacy was also very kind in handling the return, restock, and filling of the second Rx. This Take Care Clinic could be improved with two people working at all times. This way, not every exam would be interrupted with greeting new arrivals, or answering other questions. TCC should consider staffing the little desk up front with a medical intern of some kind (nursing students would be my bet) or even a kind adult with an iron clad immune system. They could provide the "front of house" customer service, (medical interns could sit in on exams where appropriate.)

I've been to this particular clinic twice and both times, the experience could have been A LOT…read morebetter. The first time I went was last October. I had been sick with a cold for three weeks, a little too long in my opinion. I had just moved and hadn't yet found a new doctor, so I decided to go to the Walgreens clinic. I knew it was going to be a long wait since it was cold and flu season and I went right after work, but it got a little ridiculous. I waited around two hours. I actually went across the street to the Jewel and did some grocery shopping while I waited. I was finally seen by the doctor and a nurse or Walgreens doc-in-training (DIT for future references). They ask you a bunch of questions since they don't have your medical history. That's totally fine. Only problem is that the nurse or DIT took FOR-EV-ER to type the stuff in. She clearly did not know how to use the computer system and read unnecessary questions like "Are you menopausal" (I'm 23) and asked if I was congested as I blew my nose. They also could not figure out what was wrong with me. After being there for a total of three hours, I left with a prescription that I was not about to take from a doctor who is guessing my illness. Second time was in February. I woke up in the middle of the night realllly sick. I knew I had to see a doc as soon as possible. I saw the clinic opened before my doc, so I used their online appointment tool and got the earliest appointment at 8:45. This way, I wouldn't have to wait forever like I did last time. I got there about 10 min before and signed in. And guess what? I had to wait 45 min after my APPOINTMENT because she took two people before me, who didn't have an appointment. What is the point of making one then? I could have just shown up when they opened. Then the doctor tried to make it seem like maybe I didn't make my appointment early enough. 5am isn't early enough? Oookay. She also said she didn't see my name on the screen and that's why she took someone else before me, but I clearly saw my name at the top of the list. Didn't matter that I was visibly in a lot of pain. The doctor is really nice, I'll give her that. She sent my prescription to the pharmacy and it was ready in minutes and even showed me some pain relief medicine that I could take in addition to the prescription. The whole concept of this place doesn't really work though if it's so unorganized. She was clearly overwhelmed even though there were only 4 of us there, but that's because she had to do the check-ins, clean up the rooms, etc. They need more assistance there.
