What was a little surprise as a parent was the cost of participation. If you don't have a trumpet or clarinet lying around, you need to rent one and the monthly fee is quite high. Our school recommends Wally's in Oregon City and they visited our school for the rental process. I made follow-up trips to their store to pick up accessories. Unfortunately they didn't have everything we needed in stock and I was looking for pretty basic items. Wally's qualifies as an O.C. institution since they've been in business since 1947. The building and interior are quite worn, but I loved the old time murals. I'll probably be doing business with them for at least the next five or six years, so hopefully my rating will improve with time.

Had a bit of communication issues and the owner stepped in to help move the way since summer schedule is different than school schedule. ( aka travel and camps mess up a regular class time). For $129/ 4 lessons 30 min other friends say this is a great deal. I have no idea if it's a good deal or not, but I really like the teacher. Lots of other great teachers here. I think the retail store at the teaching area should be two different reviews but alas ( dated decor but worth it for the price. I took guitar lessons with him in Ann Arbor Michigan from 2004 to 2008. It was great! He definitely let my interests drive the direction of the lessons. Rather than having a strict series of levels/lessons/books to work through, he saw what I was interested in and used his musical expertise to plan lessons around those interests. In addition to strumming my guitar that I love, I am so grateful for the theory/songwriting/singing knowledge I got out of working with Aaron. I've tried to take lessons from other people as I moved around the country, but no one offered the flexibility in terms of what to study that I got from Aaron. I really felt that he was interested in teaching me what I wanted to learn.
