However, it had a different tag on the back that said 11.99. The dvd only goes for 8 dollars on eBay so I was a bit confused, especially considering it was a used box set and the dvds had scratches on them. I went to the front to see if they could mark it down and they said that they couldn't and that the old tag didn't matter. Before leaving I saw the associate I was speaking to rip off the old tag before putting it back on the shelf. This store is a scam, support local used media shops.

I've always loved Barnes & Noble. This location is especially nice because it's two stories and has such a great variety of books and gifts. Whether you're into history, business, fiction, religion, children's books, or even board games and puzzles, there's something for just about everyone. I also loved how each section included little descriptions and recommendations to help you discover something new instead of just browsing shelves. I went in looking for a book on Mongolian history and warfare as a gift, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many options they had in that section. I also spent some time browsing in the religion section, which had a nice selection of Bibles, devotionals, and Christian books. I ended up finding the cutest bookmark to go with my gift. I do wish they had a few more bookmark designs to choose from since there were only a couple of rotating displays, but I still found a couple I loved. One thing I think could be improved is finding specific books. The website does a great job showing whether a book is in stock, which saved me a trip, but I wish it also told you the aisle or exact section. It took me a little while to find both the history book I wanted and another book in the business and technology section. It wasn't a huge issue, but it would've made shopping a little easier. The café is another reason I enjoy Barnes & Noble. I love that you can grab a coffee, find a comfortable spot, and spend time reading without feeling rushed. It really makes the store feel like more than just a bookstore. The cashier was incredibly kind and made my visit even better. We ended up talking about the bookmark I picked out, and she even took a moment to write down the Bible verse I had on my phone because she loved it so much. She also explained the membership program and everything that comes with it, including the tote bag, without ever making it feel like a sales pitch. She saw my rewards and let me know how close I am to getting a deal on my next book purchase too. The store itself was clean, including the restrooms, and I appreciated how organized everything was. The only other challenge was finding an employee when I had a question. There didn't seem to be many associates on the floor, so it took a little while to find someone to help. Thankfully, I didn't mind exploring because that's part of the fun at Barnes & Noble anyway. I also have to mention how adorable the children's section was. It was thoughtfully put together with books, games, educational toys, and fun gifts, making it a place that's just as enjoyable to browse as the rest of the store. Overall, this is a great location with a huge selection, a relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff. I'll be happily back!

They had some mark downs on some books, the prices are a bit high compared to ordering off Amazon, but I love the fact that you can grab a book and read it, and no one bothers you. This alone makes it worth the price! I hate that this is so far from me, but will always make it a point to stop by when we're in the area.

They also now offer rentals, which I love to be able to try on the clothes before renting and keeping the items for 21 days. Lots of variety from staple neutrals to bold prints, dresses, jeans and shoes plus some accessories like earrings, bags and sunglasses.

The building served as a feed-and-seed store, a record store and a used-appliance store. The bookstore opened in 2013, and its extensive renovation preserved the exposed brick walls and the high pressed-tin ceilings. They added hand-carved bookcases. The walls are olive green, and the original windows let in plenty of natural light. The store was named after the scuppernong grape, the North Carolina state fruit. The store's "fox and grape" motif, visible on its signs and literature, is also a nod to Aesop's fables. The bookstore is cozy and welcoming, with areas to lounge and even a seating bar at the front of the store. The bookstore carries new and used books, with a good variety. You will find banned books and many about social justice. The store has stood up to censorship. The genres are clearly marked, and it is easy to browse and shop. They even have staff picks with reviews. I like that North Carolina authors are featured. The store partners with other local businesses. The cafe has coffees, teas, wines and craft beers. They have pastries from Loaf Bakery and Swedebread. The sandwiches are from Jerusalem Market. The specialty teas come from Vida Pour Tea. Service here is welcoming, helpful and low-pressure. They let you browse without following you around so you can take your time and explore. I highly recommend visiting Scuppernogg Books if you are looking for a local business to support or just like visiting old buildings. In the digital age, it is so nice to connect with others and actually browse the shelf to find my next read. I loved the banned books, as I am always curious as to what they don't want me reading.

Some books have been harder to find as of recent, but I knew Scuppernong would not let me down. I placed my order online, and they sent me an email when it was ready to pick up in store. I was kindly greeted at the front door, and had my book within a minute. I did take an extra few seconds to wander the rest of the store, as it is such a lovely space. The sense of peace and calm the store has to all who enters cannot go unnoticed. I left with my required book in hand, and a smile on my face.
