I've been super excited to stop by here for the books and cafe, but honestly, I was a little disappointed today. I will start by saying that the book selection is AMAZING. I love the selection, I love the curated displays, I love the political stance they take in what they do and do not stock. I love everything about it. In fact, I spent $117 and probably would have kept going, but I cut my visit short. With that said, this is the LOUDEST bookstore I have ever been in, in my entire life. Clearly there was some kind of children's event going on, because there were dozens of small kids running around. And I love that it is child friendly-- that is vital to a community. But I want to emphasize that the kids were RUNNING around. And screaming, and "playing" recorders. I expect a certain level of chatter and squealing when there are so many kids, but I do think that part of the importance of kid friendly space is that it is a way to teach children the social norms of a given environment. I.e., "we don't play tag inside bookstores." Ultimately, it was so loud and chaotic that we didn't end up staying to check out the cafe. It would have been like trying to enjoy books and tea inside a Chuck E Cheese. Super overstimulating and generally unpleasant. I was actually really torn when deciding how many stars to give this-- I am super excited about my new books and I am always happy to see progressive businesses that are family friendly. So, in theory, I like this a lot. But did I, personally, actually enjoy it that much while there? Not really. I'll have to come back another day. I really wanted to like this. I'll be sure to check the events calendar and avoid times when they're hosting things with kids, since clearly some people treat that as a free for all.

Such a big space! I didn't realize it was so big from the outside. Large selection of new and used books. They can order almost any book for you if they don't have it in stock (which I did). They also have wine, coffee, tea and water options, along with snacks. Lots of space to sit and read and enjoy your beverage of choice! Everyone is respectful of each other's space and controlling voice levels as not to interrupt. Cannot wait to go check out the silent book club that meets there!!

This is the definition of a local bookstore. I absolutely LOVE this place. The place isn't your fancy perfect bookstore instead, it has a home-y vibe. My daughter loves this place too. It's quiet where she could read books while I'm working or doing something. The people here are also nice and friendly. Coffee's also great I'm usually not the person who likes places like this but something about the energy of this place is

We randomly bopped in here for a bathroom and were pleasantly surprised - we found a cozy, clean, friendly local coffee and bookstore! They had a great selection of books and very approachable staff making coffee.

We stop in here often. I love the selection of books. They have very cozy spots in the store to enjoy coffee, wine and to read. There is a unisex bathroom is actually very thoughtful. There is a changing table and lady products. I've had coffee here and it was very delicious. Check them out online. They have events there often if you are looking for socializing activities. The cashiers were very nice and offered complimentary bookmarks.

I had written a review of this place fr Yelp but can't find it now, perhaps blipped. We stumbled onto this place on a Friday evening while walking around the area before a performance at the Tanger Center. We love books and we enjoy wine, so this place was like a little slice of heaven. My wife purchased a book and we enjoyed some vino before the performance. There was an event going on in the back (author reading?) and the vibe was very social and friendly. Our kind of place.

A great little locally owned book store. The offer sections such as local authors, staff recommends and many of their books are faced out which makes for a great buying experience and as someone who Judges a book by its cover...I came home with many titles. Inside is also a little cafe offering coffees and teas. They have a cozy reading area in back as well. If you're a book lover you need to stop.

I love books! And I love Scuppernong! The atmosphere is comforting! They have a great selection of current books and classics. My favorite part....? The squeaky floorboards! A great staple of the community!

Came across an independently owned neat bookstore in downtown Greensboro. They sell new, used and even some rare books. Three words describes this bookstore: books, wine, community. Check out their website for events. Disappointed that I missed their wine tasting last Saturday. The name, "scuppernong" (muscadine native to southern US), caught my attention. I'm a wine enthusiast. Being a proud Grammie that I am, I headed to the kids section to find something for my granddaughter. She's only 21 months old but already addicted to books. Lol She signs and says ,"books" whenever she wants you to read to her. So excited when I found a book called, "Kitty Corn" and a plush animal that goes with it. The cashier said that her daughter have the same book and that she loves it. I plan to go back when they have wine tasting.

The back of the bookstore features lots of seating and a large space for bookclubs and author readings

This little bookstore is so cute! It's filled to the brim with a great selection of new and used books. Has cozy seating if you want to hunker down. And has a large coffe/wine bar.

Found a book I had been wanting to read for a while.

Nice and cozy atmosphere for any bookworm. I love the addition of the cafe and an area in the back to read. I like that it brings the community together with the book club it has. Would definitely go back just to sit and read in there.

Amazing little find in downtown greensboro. I totally support the little book store over Amazon or Barnes and noble. Notice, as of August 7th, only fully vaccinated can stop by for drinks. Need the vaccination card as a proof. This store has a small selections of books but great selections beyond imaginable. The recommendations always stand out and all were great recommendations. Helpful and most friendly staff there is always a plus!!

There are two problems with this location…read more First, the bathrooms have no ventilation and no attempts are made to cover/fight smells. If someone uses the bathroom and doesn't flush right away the horrid smell suffuses the room in a stomach churning smell that frequently drifts out into the hall. Sometimes you can smell the bathrooms 10 feet away. It's always been like this and it's inexplicable to me why they haven't done anything about it. The second problem is in the cafe. In our society where everything is driven by things they need to be plugged in, it's a mystery to me why there are are no plugs in the cafe. I think each side has one two plug setup and that is it. I'm really surprised they haven't just done a refresh on the whole area as it looks very run down and ratty. It would be a good excuse to add in the outlets and charging stations.

Honestly I really love Barnes & Noble and this location is no different. You can always get books…read morecheaper on Amazon but I love supporting actual bookstores & I want them to stick around. This location has a great selection and parking is really easy. I have the premium membership which is a little pricey but i buy books so often, it makes it worth it because I've gotten so much money back in rewards. They're open until 9 which is really nice because some local bookstores close earlier. It's a nice place to go browse books and find unique covers or books with sprayed edges. They also have so many board games so it's fun to come pick out a few games for a game/date night. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because almost every time I've been in here, the customer service has been mediocre. Unfortunately if you go in an hour or so before closing, the employees will rush you and remind you that they're closing. I've also heard employees loudly complaining about other customers there which I think is unprofessional. This isn't my favorite location just because of the customer service but I'll still continue to support it (and other local bookstores) because they have a great selection and I love shopping in an actual bookstores
