4.5 star vote from my family…read more The service is a 5. Super nice guy who doesn't speak English. Not fast but relaxing. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside with all of the locals. Food was 4 star worthy. I had a cheese omelette with fries. Perfect size and cooked well. My daughter had her favorite meal yet - a veggie crepe. Mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and cheese. She is picky so this is like a 6 star endorsement. My wife had the chef salad and said it was excellent - just the right amount of dressing and not overdone with junk like a US version. Beverages were good - coffee, cider and of course, a local beer. All in all - a great stop on our drive South.

If you're looking for a casual cozy place for dinner to get the local feel, I think this is a good choice.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn other travelers…read more This hotel was an enormous disappointment. We visited during a major heat wave, and there was no air conditioning. However that was not the problem - it was that this was not clearly disclosed when we booked nor was it communicated to us as it became known there was a major heat wave going through France (one that has killed several hundreds across Europe). The room felt over 100°F (38°C) and completely unbearable. A family member has a condition that makes them prone to fainting, and this was just not going to work for us. I understand that older hotels may not have air conditioning, but that information should be made unmistakably clear during a heat wave. At least open a window before our arrival and let in some fresh air! It would have been nice to receive some sort of communication in advance to prepare us for our stay (there was none--not even a "your stay is coming up" type email). Transparency would have allowed us to book somewhere else. To make matters worse, our sauna of a room didn't have TOILET PAPER when we checked in. The parking situation was also frustrating. It was difficult to find (with, again, no advance warning that there is construction around the property), and we later learned that the garage closes at 10:00 p.m. with no access to your vehicle afterward. We were in town for a wedding that would end much later, making this completely impractical. This restriction was never made clear before our arrival. Given all of these issues, we kindly asked to be refunded for the night so we could comfortably stay elsewhere, but the hotel refused. We ultimately chose to leave anyway and accept the financial penalty because staying simply wasn't an option. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we've ever had.
