My reward for hitting my Weight Watchers goal of 40 pounds down was a new pair of walking shoes because success begets success - and let the party continue! I first looked at the clearance rack. Sadly, the selection was pretty picked over. So I went to look at New Balance, a brand I consider tried and true. A really knowledgeable salesman explained the features and benefits of four different levels of shoes. I didn't buy by price, I bought on benefit and am really happy with my selection. It's so comfortable and supportive. The salesman measured my feet and - whoops - I've been buying too small shoes for a while. Now with a comfortable expansive toe box, good arch support and a heel construction that feels wrapped around the back of my foot I am seriously happy and walking on. Thanks for the help, Stan's. See you in another 40 pounds!

Measured, put on a treadmill to see my steps and then recommended a larger size than I had ever bought. He told me I needed to accommodate the larger of my two feet more than my sizing had in the past. He brought out about 4 different pairs/brands and I tested them all out on the indoor track. Eventually we settled on a pair of Saucony. This was a brand I had never bought before and so I was hesitant. But I'm now a month into running with them and they're easily the best running shoes I've ever owned. Price was pretty standard at 150 or so but they're totally worth it. Will be back when visiting my family in Milwaukee. That's how much I loved the store.

When we tried to make the return, the sales associate said that sale items were final sale and could not be returned. Manager was not in-store and was contacted to see if an exception can be made. Eventually we were given the option of returning only for items on the sale rack but there were limited options and furthermore no sizes were I could make an exchange. After explaining that we were told an exchange could be made, sales associate denied that she said the return can be made. I do not recommend shopping here.

Two weeks later, I was in the neighborhood and wanted to return it. Clerk refused to issue a credit to my credit card. She says it is their store policy to only give merchandise credit. The tags were still on! Totally unreasonable. I understand that if the product were worn or damaged, store credit would be appropriate. I will never shop here again and strongly caution anyone else for the same reason. Seems illogical especially since the clerk claimed the policy was due to it being a small business. I shop these types of businesses because I get better service. Not true here.

I came here not to buy any leather goods, but just some leather for my own goods and was very impressed with both the selection and service, especially during the week of Christmas. Beyond that, their products are amazing, and the factory is a part of Third Ward history. I would suggest that you check out their website to get an idea of what they make, who they are, and their general philosophy, then stop in some time for a tour of the factory. Their bags can get pricey since they're hand made and custom made, but they also make belts, wallets, and valet trays (which you may have seen at Third Ward festivals). If nothing else, stop in for a tour. David and his mother like to show off the factory, and it's really great to have a place like this in the Third Ward.
