I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time. So when they opened at the old Fuddruckers place I said let's go. Oh boy. Was I wrong. The food was not great but not bad. The problem was the cost and portion. Chicken and dressing, green beans and Mac and cheese. $9+. For a very small amount. They charge a la cart it seems. I got a little more than a tablespoon of green beans and paid &1.99 for it. All canned it seems. And... it took forever to get through the line. The slowest. Just like so many restaurants in Rome... if you don't know the food or service sucks then you don't know the food or service sucks. Drive a hour south to get good food. read more

Personally I love this place. Yes, retirees eat here en masse. Yes it super basic cafeteria style. But I always like what I get and never leave without being stuffed. Country fried steak is solid and the chicken and dressing is good. Squash casserole is awesome too. Don't expect too much. It's old fashioned but good. read more

This new location (year or so) gives them room to spread out, thankfully - since the old place was tired & cramped. Anyway, this is a classic old style meat & 2 (or 3) with salads, bread, veggie & dessert choices. I got the country-fried steak with white gravy, a corn muffin, sweet potato soufflé, broccoli salad & tea. Surprisingly good across the board. Didn't get dessert, but was tempted. read more

We used to go to the location on Dean Street. The new one is a little out of the way for us, but judging by the parking lot, it is close for many more. Absolutely the best chicken, especially the strips. Between the four of us we have had a number of the entrees and they have all been good. The set up for getting takeout is different from Dean St. And that's a good thing as it's much easier here. Lots more room, too. read more

Had to Stay in Rome for two weeks; one night my family and I decided to come here, it's an experience. Firstly, the line is super long and slow since the demographic of customers is 65 and up. You can tell it used to be the old fudruckers here in Rome but it's just so sad. It still has the same old layout and corner booths with the odd pole in the middle but it's all starch white. While you wait in line you grab your tray, and utensils like forks and knifs...yes I said knifs, It's a school cafeteria style restaurant (before Michelle Obama ruined school lunches) and they're just taking the school part too seriously. The price however is absolutely ridiculous, we paid 31 dollars for 3 plates of food with water to drink and no desserts and there was barely anything on the plate. Food wise though ... it was okay, nothing to fancy or to over seasoned in favor of the demographic like I could make the exact same meal at home with less money spent. personally I wouldn't eat there ever again. read more

The food is almost as good as it was at former location. Fresh, hot, great selection and selections always available. Service is great unless there are a lot of customers. Employees stand and talk instead of serving. Restaurant has been clean every time I've been there. Okay, now the problem. This is not a restaurant that you go in, sit down,have your order taken and have your food brought to you. You get your food in the line and take it to a table and clear your plates when finished. No one on one service but they just keep wanting tips. A tip jar at the register and they will move it around if you don't put money in or on the ticket when a card is used. If you order a pickup meal you have to pay a service charge (if you have over three orders you can't go through the line) and they want a tip added to that. If you have it delivered there's more charges. I'm a great tipper when I'm waited on but self serve establishments don't fit the bill read more

You walk in and go through the equivalent of a cafeteria line, and the food is about the same quality. Everything tasted like it was marinated in salt. It kinda felt like every item on the entire menu was from out of those big cans from Costco but with less quality. Also, I saw a video of the white owner defending a white employee for using the N word. If she's reading this, NO, white peoples CANNOT say it. Wrong hill to die on, lady. Seriously, mix 1 dry food with warm water and a beef bouillon cube - this would taste better than anything you could get at this "restaurant". I've only been here twice - but the dirty environment, flavorless gruel, and less than sanitary staff did provide the rewarding experience needed to win over my business. read more

Sign on outside shows Special; Salmon and 2 veggies. I got 1 piece of salmon and 2 veggies. Totaled $8.50 at register. When I asked what made it the special at that price, the woman said it was because they don't have it every day??? When I got home 5 minutes later, salmon was cold and soaked with turnip green juice, even though I had laid it flat in car. Also so over-done & dry that it was hard to swallow. Used to be wonderful food and with reasonable prices. I won't be back. Not good at all!!! read more

A home town favorite! Not to be confused with the chain of a similar name, this is the real deal. Good food and plenty of it. I always get the country fried steak, mashed taters (both smothered in gravy of course!) creamed corn, and field peas. I choose the Mexican cornbread as my bread. You can actually get as many sides as you want for a small upcharge. Good stuff here, don't let the old building and dated decor keep you from Pick O Deli, it's a gem! read more

Pic O' Deli has been in Rome for a very long time and most people seem to like it. It has a class counter covering the food were you tell the servers what you want, not a self serve buffet. Pick O' Deli serves homestyle food like country fried steak, meatloaf, catfish, and chicken. Sides you can choose include creamed corn, broccoli with or without cheese, pasta salad, mashed potatoes, dressing and others. I always get chicken fingers with honey mustard. If you feel like the portions are small, ask for it to go and they put your meal in a box which is bigger than the eat inside plate, so you get bigger portions that way. I still eat inside, but ask for a to go plate, they don't care. The food is very simple but good, it's always clean, and the servers are always nice. read more

Country cooked cafeteria food. Lots of vegetables. Very little salt used in their food. It reminds me of plain but reasonably good cafeteria school food. Nothing super fancy about this place, just a great meat and three joint. The okra is always on point. Try the dressing for sure. Meatloaf is always good. Anything is going to be good, really. Mexican cornbread is an overlooked great item. I think Tuesday is senior day, but the prices are always reasonable. read more

The food is so nasty using the fattest & most unhealthiest ingredients, too greasy, too fattening & it doesn't taste good. If you want to gain weight, get clogged arteries, high cholesterol or heart attack....then this is the place.....this place needs to be more health conscience with how they cook their food. read more

The food is amazing. BUT... the red velvet cake was old and dry and the icing was absolutely disgusting!!! When we called in our order, we asked what they had for lunch and she said chicken and rice and all the normal vegetables. We asked what the vegetables were and she told us again all the normal vegetables. When we arrived, the cashier told us that we told her that all the orders were seperate and when we got there, she told us that whoever called said they would be together and the person that called was standing right there listening. And then she argued with us about what was said (which has happened before). And while we were standing there, another lady was on the phone being rude to a call-in customer saying "What? Have you never been here before? How do you not know what vegetables we have?!" I am so done with that disgusting and very dirty restaurant!!!!! There was a roach running on the floor and drinks were spilled all over the floor and counter... I mean have your employees never heard of at least a wet rag to clean with??? I am very disappointed. This was my first time eating here and I will NEVER go back! And I hope the owner is reading this. You should know exactly how rude all your staff is and how NASTY your restaurant truly is. read more
