As a Co-owner, I first took the performance sailing classes. We then asked the school if we can hire an instructor for a day to give us personal instruction on both our boat and how to fly our spinnaker. The school sent to us Sean, an instructor with tons of experience with spinnakers of all types. Sean provided us a detailed assessment of our equipment and the role of each member of crew-- the pit person, the trimmers and the foredeck person. At the end of the day of flying the chute, we all felt more confident and are ready to race spin fleet.

They travel to quite a few locations to make it very convenient. Class size was small (there is a pandemic still), so Mr. Brenner could focus on each of us in turn. I've had to perform CPR before and I'll say that the training is very spot on and on par with real life scenarios. Mr. Brenner is very knowledgeable, highly experienced and a great teacher, helping me with answers to questions I had regarding my own past experiences (some of which didn't end so well due to lack of knowledge). Needless to say - take the class. If not to enrich yourself, then to save others you might encounter. Listen carefully and learn, you might need it to save a life one day and this course will give you information that will stick with you. God forbid, if you have to use the skills you learn here just once in your lifetime, this course will have been worth it.
