PW catered for my event at Manchester Cathedral on 3rd May 2015 for 300 guests. I had a drinks reception and a 3 course meal and I cannot fault them in anyway! I had absolutely nothing to worry about during the set up, I provided my seating plan in the afternoon when I popped in and it already looked amazing! The food was absolutely amazing, the comments from all of my guests on the night were all so positive. I had a number of dietary requirements which were dealt with effectively and efficiently with no effort needed to ensure my guests got the right food. The service was fantastic and run like a military operation. Service was extremely speedy and given the type of event this was a good thing to ensure my guests had maximum time of dancing and drinking the night away. The staff were all extremely helpful and I got everything that was paid for, there was no issues with lack of food and drinks, there was so much available! I would highly recommend using PW, the communication in the run up to the event was faultless, the operation on the day was flawless and overall I was looked after very well and my guests provided for. Pickled walnut catered at our wedding. The canapés looked lovely (I was too excited to eat!) and the sit down meal was really nice. They apparently forgot to ask some tables how they wanted their steak cooked but they cooked it medium, so I think most people enjoyed it. Bacon butties at night went down a treat. The one disappointing element was the service of drinks at the reception. The drinks weren't poured when we came out of our ceremony (right on time). They were very slow at walking round to top our guests' glasses up and a lot of our guests were standing around without drinks. I ended up getting pretty annoyed with PW about it (on the 3rd time of asking), but to be fair to them they did speed up after that. It did upset me because i shouldnt have had to tell them again and again: they had clear instructions to circulate with drinks in the written 'minutes' and we had paid them to do that. I was also upset at their reaction to my complaint after the wedding. Jamie (MD) suggested it was because our guests drank too much and they ran out of glasses, but that doesn't explain why the drinks weren't ready at the start and why they weren't topping up glasses. We also had loads of drink left at the end, so either they underestimated or we overestimated what our guests would drink. So mixed feelings about them- food good, but service and customer care needs a lot of improvement. read more

I had to write a review about the excellent catering at my daughters wedding at the palm house on Friday 5th of September. The happy couple would do this but asthey are away on honeymoon for 3weeks I felt it couldn't wait!! The whole day and evening passed along seamlessly thanks to I the main to pickled walnut and the staff at the palm house. To say the food was divine is an understatement. It was definitely restaurant standard and all the ninety plus guests were amazed at the quality ,no one was kept waiting the food were necessary was beautifully hot and all staff were friendly and helpful. The evening food was equally delicious and brought round to our tables. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thanks again to all the team. read more
