What an absolutely delightful place! Ambiance: Adorable. Farm store is well-stocked with fresh veggies and tons of tasty treats and tchotchkes. The outdoor areas have some seating right against the store and tons more in the beer garden area. Greenhouses. A whole kid play area with toys, sandboxes, swings. And live farm animals to visit and observe (cow, goats, geese, etc.) Super cute, lots to see, and fabulous for families. Service: Friendly and warm. Pretty sure it was the owner who took our orders in the cafe window. He was so sweet and struck up a conversation with us about whether we were visiting, local, etc. He noticed our baby and told us about their family nights with campfires and live music and kid games. The woman at checkout was also super nice when I bought a few store items. Food: GUYS. Simple but sooooo fresh and wonderful. We all loved it, even my picky MIL. We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches / wraps. It was a bit of a wait but we were happy to sit outside and chat and even happier when the food turned out to be so yummy. The bagels were soft inside but crispy outside (they grill them, not just toast. But not greasy!!) Eggs are local. Veggies are fresh. All made with care. read more

We attended the Haunted Corn Maze again this year, it was fun, but there seemed to be fewer actors than in the past. This year they also had plastic snow fencing blocking off certain areas of the maze, a lot of them were falling down and partially in the maze walkways, causing a tripping hazard, ask me how I know! While we love to try new spooky things and also like to do things we know and love, I think we'll skip this one next year. read more

I didn't know what to expect when I saw the sign except for flowers and vegetables, hence the name! But when I walked in, I was impressed. It was during the beginning of fall, and they had lots of pumpkins. All the colorful, autumn decorations. They have great breads, pies, produce and fruit to choose from. The store was inviting for sure! Outside, I was surprised they had animals you could go look at and feed if feeling brave. They have cute ducks, pigs, goats and a protective medium size cow. I say that because he seemed to come out and protect the other animals with a loud noise when people were looking at the animals ! And they have outdoor games to play to amuse yourself and young ones. They even have an assortment of beer to have so you can sit down and relax while having a beer. I was unprepared for how amazing this location is. The exterior is simple and the signage doesn't indicate everything which is offered here. It's rustic, cozy and upscale. As it's winter, produce is somewhat limited but quality is excellent. They have wonderful baked goods, soups and sandwiches, as well as a well curated selection of beverages. Went here during the day to check them out and also went for a comedy show another night. Cozy place with farm food options. There were baby goats and a pig that you (or little kids) could feed. Visiting from out of town and wanted local produce so we came here. Cute little place with plants, animals, produce and cooked food. Also had a taco truck there. We were able to get most of the vegetables we wanted. Also got some honey and spices. They carry local cheese, meat, honey, ice cream and Gluten free baked goods. There is a kids area and picnic tables. It's a fun place to visit!! read more

Wow! Absolutely unbelievable staff who put the customer first with no questions asked. The atmosphere is unbeatable here with the bar, food trucks and pizza oven on Friday. Great fresh food farm stand! They operate a great food truck at Gunstock mountain, had some killer chili, so stopped at their store on my way home. I got some amazing store-made soups and breads. It's an ok maze but absolutely pathetic to call it a haunted corn maze. They had 2 guys walking around. One with a chainsaw and one with a taser. We encountered them once. Once! My group resorted to scaring ourselves! A few years ago they had a bunch of scarers, plus 2 guys with chainsaws. Probably 10 scarers. This year 2. No joke, 2 guys! Do not waste your money. It's an absolute joke. We returned to the entrance a few times because we were lost and both times the two scarers were sitting with the 2 ticket girls. Unreal! We would hear the chainsaw about once every 5-10 minutes. Plus if you pay with a credit card they charge you a 6-7 dollar service fee. read more

I really love the concept of a local fruit and veggie stand. Beans and Green's is independent and has all kinds of flowers, shrubs, fruits, veggies, baked goods, jellies and jams, and cheese. The prices here were out of this world. Maybe it was a bad time to come as it was May and not too much local produce was ready and in season. $3.65 for greenhouse tomatoes from Canada. Over $10.00 lb for Cabot cheese. I did not purchase anything, but BF got some cookies to snack on. It was a fun place to look and browse on the holiday weekend. read more

Really cute spot to take the kiddos! There are animals you can let for free, and pay to use the kids area which has a jumó pad and mini zip line. The corn maze is a bit pricy but totally worth it. Great place to take an outing. read more

I lived in Gilford for 3 years and this little farm was right down the road. Great place to stop with the kids as they have a little area with some animals, sandbox, rocking swings. Great variety of flowers and vegetables in the greenhouse during the season, and their fresh produce and fruits are always the best. They have a decent selection of baked sweets and breads when you walk in. They offer a variety of other items as well like some fresh meat, local cheeses and ice cream. Very disappointed, especially having driven over 80 miles from Keene, NH to visit. Was excited to try some fresh corn, cookies, and a peach pie which cost me over $30. The pie had crunchy peaches, and the crust tasted factory made; would have preferred a pie from my local supermarket. The peaches were also diced which is extremely unusual. The grounds didn't have much to offer and the farm stand inside had half filled shelves that did not offer much. Would love to say I would try next time, but my first impression was not worth a second trip. read more

We recently spent a few days in Gilford, NH and stopped at this farm stand every day. Our 2 year old loved meeting the different farm animals and playing in the play area. Could be a wonderful place for the kids - but the only thing my kid is going to remember is that disgusting porta potty. This is a popular place and you will find a sizable crowd on a nice autumn weekend day. Porta potties are essential for venues like this - but having only one - nearly overflowing and with no supplies - that you need to wait in line for - is indefensible. read more

I just gave them my name and paid. The turkey was fresh and very, very delicious. I was happy with the purchase. Exceptionally expensive! I think that's because it's so close to 2-3 large marinas in Gilford. Most neighbors at our marina go to Beans & Greens for summer produce for their mostly-grilled-boatside dinners. I love going there just to see the beautiful surroundings, the colorful flowers and other plants (their own and for sale), The place is well laid out, with their own very enticing baked goods taking center stage as you enter the place...it's hard to resist! They make and sell pies, cookies, tarts, breads, etc. The produce is nicely presented, with lots of local crafts items sprinkled here and there vying for attention. I have been going here for years.These guys always have a great, fresh, large selection of local grown vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc. They have one of the best bakeries as well, and the smell of it when you first enter is amazing. Finding fresh and good tasting breads are hard to come by. Everything is well organized, very clean, and laid out well. Highly recommend them to everyone. read more

I used to purchase all of my flowers and plants each spring from Lowes - but never again. A few years ago I checked out Beans and Greens. Their prices are the same, and in many cases better than Lowes, and there is simply no comparison in the quality of their plants. Plus you get to speak with people that actually know about plants and flowers, and are willing to spend time discussing them. Inside, the fresh baked goods are outstanding - worth the price. Growing up in Gilford, this was the place to get fresh grown corn on the cob. Simply the best! Still to this day, corn from other farms just don't compare. I guess it's a sweet spot for me. Hadn't been here for quite a while so thought we'd stop while out and about. Lots of cars in the parking lot and people walking around checking out all that was available. Lots of pretty flowers outside make for a very appealing location. Once inside, all the baked delicacies are front and center! This must have been a baking day because there were many things to choose from---cookies, bars, pies... Lots of fresh vegetables, especially their own corn which everyone loves. The corn stand was very busy. Nice looking offerings for salads in their deli section, but prices too high for people on a budget. Usually when visiting here, I go out to the buildings that house the plants, but didn't this time as not enough time to do so. We did a quick walk around inside and then decided to purchase a dessert item to share. Well, since everything looked and sounded good, we ended up with 2! The cookies have always been really good so chocolate chunk ones were a given and our other choice was a bar---caramel and raspberry something or other. Well, the cookies were delicious---fresh and little soft---yum! The bar unfortunately must have either been sitting there for days or overlooked---something was horribly wrong with it. Totally dried out and so disappointing and it was almost $3 for the one little bar. We had to throw it away which I hate to do. So lots to offer at this business, especially the corn! Wow, Love the fresh veggies and now here in mid winter! The fresh spinach and greens are so crisp and juicy I'm forever spoiled and will have a hard time eating grocery store veggies again. I'm participating in the Beans and Greens winter CSA and most of my order is literally harvested within hours of my pick up time. It is amazing how much of a difference that freshness makes. In summer the variety of local food they carry is impressive. I especially love their deli and smoothie choices. I also love the fresh antibiotic and homone-free meat from their own farm (Chicken,Turkey, Pork, Beef). I'd gotten used to cheap thanksgiving turkey from the grocery store but a few years ago I splurged for one of their home grown ones. I didn't realize what I had been missing. We love our local farmstand! They have a great selection of locally grown food items. They have seasonal CSA and make it very easy to feed yourself and your family high quality food - veggies, fruit, their own chickens (hormone and antibiotic free), their own beef (hormone and antibiotic free), and their own pork (hormone and antibiotic free). They provide a great healthy service to the area and their clients. In the summer their sandwiches are amazing and well made. The on-site bakery turns out amazing treats to soothe any sweet tooth and bread craving! We just moved to town and were really excited to check out Beans and Greens for local food and other yummy treats. I think overall this place is very nice and everyone is very friendly. We love going here to see the cute animals, get fancy treats and check out the fresh fish. It's also really great that they have their own chickens that are grown without cages and are fresh (are they also slaughtered on the premises or nearby?) The only reason I am giving them a low score is because a) things are a little too aggressively expensive, though I do understand they are a small family-owned business and we're still happy to support them, but mostly because b) they take packaged food out of their containers and put their own stickers on them as if they produced them. I'm specifically talking about the gluten-free foods, like the bagels and crab cakes. My husband has celiacs and we know for a fact that foods are produced by companies like Samys in Florida and Handys in Baltimore. I don't think it's actually really okay to put your store's label on someone else's products, and in the case of Samys, those products are NOT fully gluten free, and so are unsafe for folks who are very sensitive. I don't think anyone will think less of this shop if they stop putting their labels on other products, and would probably be grateful so they can be sure that their gluten-free products are in fact gluten free. read more
