The (very polite) guys worked hard and were quite efficient loading the rented U-Haul truck. Took them about 6 hours to move the whole house. I'd give them more than 3 stars if it wasn't for some quirks along the way... 1. A rented U-Haul truck is not the sign of a licensed PA mover (see PUC's website) https://www.puc.pa.gov/ 2. All legit movers must have PA license and insurance, if they don't have it, don't use them (they are called "gypsy movers") 3. Don't use anyone who demands money upfront... Another warning flag. Labor Muscles required me to pay 50% down upfront, then charged me the other 50% PLUS $900 extra I didn't agree to! Rather than endure a legal issue we just paid Steve Pentz, the owner... and walked away.

I explained that we were moving my son from a bi-level house to a second floor apartment and I am not physically fit enough to really be of any assistance with the heavy furniture that he has. He advised that he would be available for 8 or 9 AM and gave me a verbal proposal for 3 movers, asked for the old address and the new address and an email address. He said he would said an invoice and I would need to give a 50% deposit and the rest would be payable on moving day. No problem, except by Thursday I had never received the invoice. I reached out and he explained that I hadn't provided my email address, but he would send it as soon as I did. My mistake, and I sent it right away. I also asked him for pricing to include a truck, which he verbally provided. I never did get the invoice, so I texted him and advised that at this late date, and with his agreement, I would just pay cash on moving day, which he agreed too. 6AM on moving day I got a text from Steve asking for confirmation that we were still on. I advised that we were. He explained that he was down a truck and with that he would be down a mover, so they would be able to deal with that, but he was dropping his charge accordingly, which I appreciated. 8:30-8:45 rolls around and still no movers. I reach out to Steve and he advises that he won't be there until 10 AM, as he had to get the truck. I accepted this change, but advised that doing the move later would just be hotter (it was unusually hot and humid this past Saturday). He understood, but since I was intent on sticking to the 3 hour window, he did not feel it was going to be a real issue. Then at 8:54 I got a call from Steve cancelling all together as now his second truck broke down. I'm not sure why he wouldn't chose to rent a Uhaul in order to keep his scheduled work, in lieu of cancelling last minute on a customer. I personally find it hard to believe that a mover had trouble with two (2) separate moving trucks in their fleet, and am inclined to think that he decided he didn't want to be bothered. I chose Labor Muscles because of their numerous 5 star reviews, but I am sorry that I did. They were not dependable for me. This could have been an anomoly for this business, but if you absolutely need to know you have a mover that will show, you should keep looking. Luckily, my son had a friend come in from New Jersey (3 hours away) and they were able to get the heavy furniture moved.

Needed a 30A circuit upgraded to 40A for a new in-wall Oven. Electrician was able to come out the…read morenext day, verified that the wiring to the 30A circuit was appropriate gauge for 40A service as well (8ga, saving us a ton of labor and materials cost!), and replaced the 30A circuit breaker with a 40A breaker. Very reasonably priced service and materials. The electrician was knowledgable and friendly, and even gave pointers on other electrical issues in the house. Highly recommended!

Swank started our well for our new home but had to stop. When able to return, they never did. After…read more4 months, 4+ no shows, many phone calls to confirm status (initiated by us), we were strung along until we were forced to find another driller. While he initially answered calls and my family was understanding of the reasons given for the multiple delays, ultimately the duration of the delay, lack of professionalism and reliability, and misleading communication was disappointing and unacceptable. If he couldn't do the job, he should have been honest. We lost months of time and lots of money waiting. We waited so long because Swank communicated it would be done only to repeatedly not show up. I do not normally write reviews, but I feel it's important other are aware. I would recommend finding a more dependable service for something as important as water for your home.

I contacted True Grade Excavating as a referral from my landscaper about retaining walls around the side and back of my home that were made of railroad ties and had rotted and were falling down. He visited my property and came up with a plan to remove the walls and put in a sloping bank to solve the problem long term. Brock and his crew were mindful and considerate of my neighbors and not impacting their spaces, and always gave me a heads up if things might so I could chat with them, and he actually spoke to them as well. His crew made sure everything was as they found it. Toward the end of the project a natural spring popped up in the middle of the bank and was causing a wash out. Brock and his crew came up with a great fix and got that completed promptly. I highly recommend True Grade Excavating & Hauling, Brock Lorson, and his team and would use them again if I ever needed.

I thought I had a severe wasp infestation in a bush in my front yard. Hundreds of wasps were…read moreswarming this bush and I knew there just HAD to be a nest. My husband even agreed. I am allergic to the lil beggars so it scared me silly. I called Maximum and spoke to Brad. He was excellent! He explained that it was a lil early for large nesting activity and it was likely that the bush produced Sap that attracted large numbers of them to feed. Sure enough I checked in the morning after a rain and there was no sign of activity. Only after the bush began to dry out I saw the wasps come to it from outside. Do I sprayed a few away and trimmed the bush down as planned. Brad could've just just come on out and charged a fortune, but was honest and only wanted to come if I insisted upon it for peace of mind after he informed me of the facts.
