We took kids 2+ years old and it was possible and functional for them. Some of the stairs are tight or small spaces but you don't have to take the smallest stair you can take one main stair down and then back up. The crew were so kind and helpful! The atmosphere was light and jolly. We have a delightful time. There is a bathroom in their gift shop and benches by the gift shop for anyone who needs to sit. There is also parking just there near it, paid is what we used, not sure about unpaid. Worth every penny!

While visiting Galveston I decided to take this harbor tour for the first time thinking it would be…read moreinteresting and it was. An adult ticket for the one hour boat tour is $17 and you can add another tour of the adjacent sailing ship Elissa for another $8 to make it a combo price of $25 total. Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket booth at Pier 22 between Fisherman's Wharf restaurant and Willie G's restaurant. This tour is conducted on a 50' boat with twin inboard motors. The boat has a lower deck that is covered with open sides and another deck upstairs that is open air and provides the best seats for viewing as long as the weather is good. All seats are general admission so if you want a topside seat board early. The tour makes one loop of the inner harbor along with venturing just outside near the shipping channel and on the other side of Pelican Island. There you pass by the Naval Museum that includes a destroyer escort and submarine from WW II both on land and a little further you will see the remains of the old SS Selma freighter that was scuttled there. It was a ship that was built of concrete during WW I and then scuttled shortly thereafter. For some reason, my tour only got with about 250 yards of it and no closer. Also during the boat ride you will numerous dolphins that are native to the area. There are other tours advertised as dolphin watching tours and I'm not sure how they are different from this one because my tour saw many on our ride. An added treat was being able to cruise by Battleship Texas which is currently in dry dock on the other side of the harbor and fully exposed from the stern for great viewing. The tour returned on time. The only reason I don't give 4 stars is because we should have gotten closer to the Selma for viewing and pictures and the audio speakers topside were very weak and made it hard to hear the live narration of the sites we saw passing by. If you visit the island and want to get out on the water and see the sights this is a good diversion to consider.

Mongolian beef that was pepper steak tender but no flavor, honey garlic chicken w/charred scallions (tasted a bit of garlic, no scallions) teriyaki salmon w/pineapple relish (baked salmon no teriyaki or relish) coconut shrimp (they ran out of the spicy mango sauce and there were no other sauce options) fried rice that wasn't fried, steamed veggies, mango cheesecake (tasted regular no mango anything) NO ASIAN flare at all. No spice or flavor Nice crew. Captain came out and explained winds and introduced himself. There was an open bar (we didn't partake) and a DJ that played 80's music. For 2 hours we sat on a docked boat. Sunset was mostly blocked by clouds... just a bust all the way around. IF the winds are 25 knots are higher... No sail. Winds tonight 27 (take note) They will allow you to reschedule if boat can't sail, but we took off work to do this soo Overall opinion... IF there's no wind...25 knots are less... you can sail but, the food (albeit plentiful) was like eating at Luby's. So, I'm just NOT recommending it, too iffy

Our Carnival Breeze cruise was a fun trip, with a great mix of entertainment, activities, dining,…read moreand time to relax. Our cruise director was Adam, and his signature "Cheerio!" became one of the little things we'll remember from the trip. Our cabin steward was wonderful. He introduced himself within an hour of our room opening, quickly brought the blue blanket and fan I requested, cleaned our room daily, made the bed, brought fresh towels, and left towel animals. He was always friendly, remembered my name, and even noticed and reported a balcony leak that maintenance fixed within 24 hours. Our head server in the Blush Dining Room, Phung, and her assistants, Idewa and Gerald, were fantastic. They were attentive, fast, and especially patient with our kids. Phung went above and beyond, even recommending Filipino food available off the regular menu. The main dining room food was decent and, in my opinion, better than the buffet. One thing to note is that there was no lobster or escargot offered in the main dining room during our cruise. Food options are plentiful. The buffet is always packed. Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina are included/free (BlueIguana also has some paid options), and both can have long lines. Bagels at Sea is worth the wait--the bagels are small, but you can order multiple. The line may be short but can move slowly. Pig & Anchor is included/free, but it was mediocre and definitely not Texas BBQ. Overall, the food is okay, but there's something for everyone. I purchased the CHEERS! Zero Proof package and thought it was worth it. It includes mocktails, specialty coffees, sodas, energy drinks, and milkshakes. There's a 10-minute wait between drinks. The package is cheaper to purchase before the cruise, and not every adult in the cabin has to purchase it. The Carnival Hub app was extremely useful throughout the cruise. We could check the daily itinerary, activity times, and hours for restaurants, shops, pools, shows, and different areas throughout the ship. It also allows you to chat with your companions on the cruise for $5 per person for the entire cruise, not $5 per day. You can purchase the chat feature for multiple people through one account as long as you add them as companions. There is something to do for everyone of all ages, whether you want to relax, participate in activities, or meet and have fun with other cruisers. There were also fun theme nights that gave everyone a chance to dress up, participate, and enjoy the evening together. We also heard about a hidden spot on Deck 9 at the front of the ship, but unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to check it out. One thing to keep in mind: food isn't allowed in the Ovation Theater or casino areas--drinks only. There are separate smoking and non-smoking casinos on different floors, though the non-smoking casino is much smaller. Also, tea time is only offered on sea days, so plan accordingly if you want to attend! Overall, the crew, service, activities, and variety made this a trip to remember. The pizza and ice cream were also nonstop. There really was something for everyone on this cruise from art shows to musicals to activities on the deck. This isn't specific carnival, but like other businesses, I have seen the cutbacks. Over the last decade you'll see less staff in the dining room and on the deck. There aren't as many comedians or specialty performances, back in the day I remember seeing magic shows. And I know this is a very American thing to say, but the buffet has gotten a little smaller, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since a lot of of us are bigger, but just my observation over the last few years. I still think a carnival Cruise is a ton of fun and you still get a lot of bang for your buck. I especially enjoy the casino in the spa however, I do think the spa can use some renovations.

I'd leave anything valuable in the car. Just take yourself, a way to pay, and your camera. Also you might want a light jacket if its only 70 degrees because the speed of the boat will make it feel more like 50. The airboat goes slow out past the fancy houses until you pass a certain marker and then you can go fast. Capt. Hal makes you wear ear muffs.. the sound reduction kind, to protect your hearing. A good thing. The motor is so loud you can't hear anyone talk anyways. When you get out to the marshy areas there's all kinds of birds. Crazy pink birds, white herons, plovers, pelicans, ibises, other birds I don't know. LOTS of birds. Its very cool. We also saw sting rays in their natural habitat in the shallow water. Cost is 35 per adult and money well spent. I wasn't sure how my 60 something parents would enjoy the air boat but my mom and dad were totally grinning. They LOVED it. So if you need something cool to do in Galveston, make reservations a week in advance and go try to the air boat. You'll have a great time!

Mardi Gras is coming up and you might just have some time leftover from the excitement of that to enjoy the vision of Galveston from the air.
