Visited Pier 32 Marina and overall had a really solid experience--definitely a 4-star spot. The marina itself is well-located and easy to get in and out of, and the docks feel secure and organized. It's got a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes spending time there pretty enjoyable, whether you're just docking or hanging around the water. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially when it came to getting situated and answering questions. You can tell they keep the place pretty well maintained, and the overall setup works smoothly for boaters. It's convenient having access to basic services right there without a lot of hassle. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is that a few areas could use some updating--parking can get tight at peak times and some of the facilities feel a bit dated. Still, nothing that really takes away from the experience. I'd definitely come back, especially for the convenience and overall ease of use. read more

Beautiful relaxing view is 5 stars! The food was really good I will be back. It tasted fresh. However, I wish the food selection was bigger. I'd love a fettuccini or great nacho on the menu. Menu was a bit smaller than I prefer. Everyone liked their food. Good portion size. Nice place to bring kids do they can play or roam a bit. Not too busy which was nice. Bring a sweater since there is no enclosed seating. Parking is pay by the hour but if you park outside the lot there are free spaces. Restroom was large clean and updated. So nice. You order first then someone brings it to you. Lots of seating to choose from. We walkedup a couple that mess to get our drinks refilled. No real server just a food runner. Overall I thought the following: Pros: -view and outdoor seating. -breakfast plate was decent (French toast weekend plate). -clean restrooms. -prices were somewhat fair. Cons: -outdoor table was kinda dirty and unkempt. We moved to a cleaner table. -birds landing on empty tables sorta picking at the crumbs leftover. Questionable sanitary issue. The birds may also be pecking at the salt and pepper shakers which I second guessed using from our table. -odd table service. We had to order indoors rather then servers taking our orders. -outdoor floors were sticky. -food from what our party ordered looked like plain deli meats you'd have in your own kitchen and something out of a can (the soups). If you want to eat with a view this is an option. Just ask if they can clean your table or eat inside hopefully with a window. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Nice marina but horrible management! 1- They unlawfully withdrew $929 from my bank account 2- When asked for a refund they said they would send me a check but they wrote the check to a deceased man. 3- Told me to come to the office and pick up the corrected check and update my rental agreement, but then would not give it to me and instead said they would mail it to me. 4- Called after four days to find out what happened to my check and they happened to FedEx it to to the dead guy in Palm Desert . 5- I spoke with the manager Greg on the phone and complained about the nightmare I was having and he promptly came TO MY HOUSE and delivered my check.......AND A EVICTION NOTICE! Saying I was disrespectful and he didn't want me in his marina. I was a Tennant for over 10 years and I have given that marina over $100K in rent. I you do stay there, be sure not to complain, and be ready to pay high rates for dock space. Be sure not to plan on eating after four o'clock because that's when the completely mediocre and high priced restaurant closes, and be ready to pay for parking as well. Whatever you do, don't ask for your money back when they steal it. read more

I have driven by this place dozens of times but never knew what was inside this building. Was in the area and wanted to relax with a beer and sit by the water. I remembered this spot and decided to come and try it! They have a VERY small selection of beers on tap and a larger selection of canned beers in a fridge. I ordered the caesar salad and garlic fries. The salad was pretty good. The fries were just ok, you can tell they used some artificial garlic oil instead of fresh garlic so it was a bit off putting. But aside from the average food, the view is beautiful, and the atmosphere is nice for a cold beer on a hot day. read more

We now live back in Seattle on a much bigger Trawler, but we're talking about this place and figured I'd give it a shout. We thought Jimi was great. He was such a personality and always so kind to us. We loved the summer yacht club party and how friendly our neighbors were. The facilities at the marina were pretty top notch. Cute little restaurant on the marina. I enjoyed brunch there with family. Mimosas and eggs Benedict. The hollondaise sauce was a bit sweet for me though. This place can be utilized as a wedding venue. There's also a putting green outside. Worth trying if you happen to be out on the water. read more

The food here is way overpriced for the quality and the portion size received. Came here to talk to Jimmy ( the marina manager) to show him I'm a real person but he was on vacation. So we decided to give this restaurant another try. Wish we went somewhere else. $22 for a salad with chicken. The greens were wilted, the chicken dry and the portion was tiny. My burger and fries were $18. It was over cooked and the French fries were soggy. It was $4 for a Diet Coke and $4 for an iced tea. Almost $60 with tip and tax. Save yourself and your stomach and go somewhere else. read more

Delightful day getting acquainted with this beautiful, clean and isolated marina. I read a review about the award winning architecture and I just went there to check it out (not that I have a boat or plan to live in one, it would be awesome, I have a couple of friends following that lifestyle and they couldn't be happier). I was just curious to see how an isolated and not so well known area south of San Diego has been revitalized and also wanted to try the new restaurant out there (under remodeling during the Christmas holidays). I enjoyed my Christmas Eve morning there, breathing fresh air, enjoying a quasi summer day, observing the boats with fun names and decorations, and admiring the facilities (wood brought from Seattle, very fine and nicely colored, as one of the guys working there friendly informed). For the residents of this marina, this is an awesome place to be: Jacuzzi, Olympic pool, bathrooms that are brand new and clean, meeting rooms, social rooms, fantastic views (the mountains to the East offers a great contrast). I recommend a visit to everything, this is off the beaten path and I hear very good reviews of the restaurant (which I will review as soon as they remodel and I go back). You won't want to miss either a pic next to Le bateau ivre, a very nice piece of public sculpture by a French artist residing in San Diego. I guess he named based on a poem from Rimbaud, it is really lovely. A perfect scene for a selfie or two! read more

Went here for lunch for the first time and I had a cup of clam chowder. Absolutely delicious! The bread was also good.

I called to make an order, and I was put on hold which is fine but 10 minutes passed and I can hear everything on the other end. So I decided to drive there and when I get there 7 minutes later I'm still on hold and the lady is just standing there next to the phone. I just changed my mind immediately and left. This isn't the only bad experience I had but overall hate confrontation. The first time I had a burger and I bit into a piece of plastic. All in all im over this place. read more

He was very apologetic and offered his services. But that's not what I was after, just an answer. And he gave me that. Came here for a coworker's Going Away lunch. In my attempt to start the year off right, I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. It was a good choice. The salmon was done just right, firm enough to tear into with a fork, but not tough to need a knife. The dressing was light, so the lettuce wasn't laden and wilted. The parm was nicely shaved, and the croutons were sparse, which is great for me since I don't eat them. The portion was properly sized, so I left satisfied. They DID have a salmon plate with rice pilaf and mango salsa, but that will have to be for another time. read more

You'll never know you're in National City, right around the corner from Mile of Cars, when you're at the Pier 32 Marina. A colleague often books meetings for our executive team here and when the staff found out it was her birthday, they offered her a great deal on a two night stay in the captain's quarters - essentially a one bedroom apartment with a stocked bathroom and kitchen. She decided to invite me and a few of the other office gals over to help celebrate. In addition to the nicely appointed captain's quarters, there's also a deck area that overlooks the marina and gives a nice view of the sunset (Mile of Cars in the shadows below notwithstanding :)) as well as a pool. Beware, though, because those mosquitoes will definitely come out once the sun goes down. There's a restaurant onsite as well, but it's more of a lunch place than a dinner place (I believe it closed at six the night we were there). I've eaten lunch there on one occasion and it was *fine* but nothing to really write home about (plus the prices seemed a bit high for what it was). Wow, came to inquire about a slip. Very unfriendly customer service! The receptionist was yawning as he tried to answer one of my questions. He rushed me through, told me that if I wanted I could fill out an application, without disclosing that it's $100 and they pull your credit, for a waiting list anywhere from 90-120 days? Don't they know that they aren't the only Marina in town and that although the facilities seems nice, it's still located in National City!!! Right in the Sweetwater Marsh (which means lots of little bugs in the summer!) not to mention it's right below the Helicopter path...and next to the 54 Freeway and you can hear the cars driving by!!! Kids were screaming as they played and ran around in the pool enclosed area. Also, as expensive as the prime locations in downtown or Point Loma Marinas...which I rather be...it's still a good 1 1/2 hour to open ocean...I will not come back here. Left a very bad impression :( read more

This is an excellent marina. I kept my boat there for 8 months after a 2 year cruise to Alaska and back. During this cruise we visited dozens of marinas and came to appreciate marinas that were well run. Pier 32 is well run and its docks, power pedestals, dock boxes, gangways, parking lots, dog runs, restrooms and other facilities are well maintained and in great condition. Pros: Best facilities on the Bay Not a lot around - Isolated Cons: A long way from the ocean Not a lot around - Isolated Internet is crappy OK, I stayed here as a livaboard for 2 years. This is hands down the best facilities anywhere on the bay, it's newer than the others by decades and well designed. Every slip has fingers on each side, the fairways are wide, in and out is easy, just be aware of where the red buoy is at sweetwater channel entrance and stay away from the shoal markers, don't mistake one for a channel buoy. The Pepper park pump-out is convenient. The marina has its own pump-out as well, but it's a little tight for 40ft+ boats. The staff is good as well. No complaints about anyone or anything in staffing. The one feature that is both a pro and con is the isolation. The marina is quiet. There is Pepper park next to it but not much else around. If you like the isolation it's a pro, if you like a busier scene it's a con. Cost is about average. The wireless is not very good. Don't count on streaming video or skype working. Cable TV is a Directv connection, you pay $10 to the marina for the connection, then whatever directv charges you for the box and service. A good deal if you have directv at home and can add a room for $10. Otherwise average cost and convenience, the directv dvr was hard to find a place for. Decent workout room. Universal, a few free weights, treadmill, bike and elliptical. The elliptical restarts a lot. Great captains lounge for gatherings. The restaurant is pretty good. Cleanliness of the facilities and the water is very good. Every now and then you see oil, often I believe from the 24th street terminal where car carriers dock, and after a rain a lot of junk comes down Sweetwater channel, but overall it is one of the cleaner marinas on the bay. Very good marina, quiet, just a long way from the action. read more

My first review, and I just created my own account. I am never a critic so I never really cared about reviewing other people's businesses, but I figured it would be good to share good businesses in order for them to do well :) So, this marina.... AMAZING! we love love love staying here. we have our boat and this marina is beautiful. I personally decided to get a slip here because of the greatest manager you will ever meet, Jimi!! OMG, this gentleman is a wonderful/knowledgeable/most friendly/most helpful/most caring person you will ever meet. We are very lucky to have him as our dock master/manager. I personally love using the gym facility, swimming pool/hot tub here, but they also have nice community room too for those who want to watch tv/movies. All the staff here are really friendly and amazing, and we love love staying here because of all the people that work here. We are both busy working and are not home often, but when we are home, we enjoy our time just staying here together, and we both feel home and welcomed by just being at this marina. I must say, this is one of the cleanest, most friendly, helpful marina you will ever be in the entire san diego county ! Finally, thank you, Pier 32 Marina, for having us and for all the good things that you all have done to us! To those who don't know much about this marina, its a great spot for watching sunset or branch too!! read more
