Beautiful place to dock your boat in San Diego. Nice views, amazing food and great amenities offered.

I moved my sailboat here (Non Liveaboard) from the North Bay to get away from the party boaters, rental Jet-Ski idiots, Bimboats and all around douchebags & assholes that make up Harbor Island. Wow. What a treat! The place is quiet! The staff is FANTASTIC. The other boaters and people are really friendly. The marina is incredibly well maintained and clean with nice facilities. I think some of the negative reviews on here are from people that either don't park a boat here, or they associated the RV park next to the marina. They are worlds apart and the RV park is going to be closed soon for a Bayfront Convention center. (I have mixed feelings about that, but we'll see what transpires). I feel very secure and safe all the time with a friendly, security staff that watches the place like hawks. The Galley Restaurant / Bar is a blast with live music 4 nights a week, with delicious and reasonably priced food. (Try the Mahi Fish Tacos, OMG!) South Bay is great for sailing with good, consistent wind, no kelp and very little boat traffic. Also notable is the 24 mile, South Shore bike path that goes all around the bay. Wonderful kayaking, wind / kite surfing, water skiing and bird watching. The duck families are super cute as are the Herons, terns and other birds. Supposedly, there is a turtle sanctuary there some where but I haven't found it, yet. It is probably in the Nature Preserve that is just to the north of Chula Vista in National City. However: There are a few cons worth mentioning: It is a LONG trek to the ocean from here through a long, narrow channel. If your main goal is to get out to the ocean and come back same day, you'll be very disappointed. South bay is SHALLOW! If you stray outside of the channels at lower tide, you'll run aground, quickly. Shoals are everywhere! BE careful! If you want a party atmosphere. Don't be a tenant here. It is quiet and boring. (Except for the really fun bar). But you won't find a lot of people getting crazy and naked on the other boats and docks. Go to harbor Island for that. It seems that this is a place where old boats come to die and there seems to be some sad cases of abandonment. There is a pool and hot tub, but they are located at the RV park next door and always full of people. And, supposedly, the pool and hot tub are going away when they demolish the RV park. If you are looking for a Marina with a great pool, this probably isn't the place. I don't do public pools, so that wasn't a factor for me. Overall: Move your boat here, I think you'll be glad you did!

Such a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. I wanted a place to just sit by the water and my daughter took me here. It was perfect!

It is very beautiful here. A great place for a picnic, a jog, or even just to watch the sunset. I enjoy coming here occasionally. The only downside is I often see and smell people sitting in their cars smoking weed and possibly other substances.

We came to this marina during the Covid-19 time and were so happy to have a safe, clean place to keep our boat. The staff is excellent, the facilities are well kept. We have been here six months and highly recommend it.

It's a great place to be. We have our boat docked here. There is a really nice park. The Galley is a casual restaurant with great food.

The property itself was beautiful, grape vines everywhere, a beautiful pool/hot tub area and a fountain with a view of the valley in the background. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The best part about the room was the view and the patio overlooking the view. The service was perfect, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. And not all the staff can speak perfect English, but it was easy to communicate with everyone, and I cannot express just how friendly every staff member was. This hotel had everything we needed. There are two restaurants on site, one that is open for breakfast/lunch, and closes around 5pm and another that is open for dinner and opens around 5-6pm. The dinner restaurant on site Aledano, is newer and the Chef is incredible, he came to speak with us and make recommendations and when I told him I was vegetarian he prepared the Orzo dish without meat and honestly, it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. There is also a beautiful winery on site with wonderful wine. Everything about this hotel is perfect. I would recommend it more for couples given how romantic is can be but would be great alone or with friends as well! I cannot wait to go back and visit!

BAD BINGO REVIEW If you think bingo is quiet, slow, and…read moreborderline funeral energy... you haven't been to Sycuan Casino Resort for BAD Bingo (Bingo After Dark). This is not dauber bingo. This is adrenaline bingo. We're talking quick 1.5-hour sessions-no dragging, no zoning out. Buy-in ranges from $20-$60, with Level I jackpots at $250 and Level II at $500. And here's the kicker: no daubers needed. You're on a desktop screen or portable bingo machine, so the system tracks everything. That means less stressing, more vibing. And the vibe? Unmatched. Music is playing, but it doesn't overpower-it elevates. The room is full of laughter, people celebrating birthdays, couples on dates, solo players locked in, elders having the time of their lives. It's loud in the best way. Social. Electric. You can actually enjoy yourself instead of sitting there in silence like you're at a wake. Between games? That's where it gets wild. Creative mini-contests that feel like game-show energy-extra chances to win money, and honestly, just as fun as the bingo itself. Need-to-know details: It gets cold-bring a layer It's a smoking casino, so expect some residual smoke (though no active smoking during BAD Bingo) *Free self-serve soda (Coke products) *Snack bar upstairs, but the non-smoking café has better options-and you can bring that food in *You can bring your own snacks... just not your own alcohol On big theme nights, there's a free 360 photo booth (tip your attendant) Also-don't get it twisted. Even though the computer does the heavy lifting, there are still interactive features that keep you engaged. You're not just sitting there-you're in it. Bottom line: This is bingo reimagined. Fast, fun, social, and actually worth the money. If traditional bingo is a whisper... BAD Bingo is a whole damn party.

I needed to valet just to be able to help my brother get inside safely, but they didn't care. It is ridiculous to expect me to leave him alone at the curb while I go hunt for a spot, especially when the handicap spaces in the structure are a massive trek from the door. We felt like a total burden to the staff and were not made to feel welcome at all. Terrible first impression, Definitely won't be back.

This is for the Spa…read more.. The spa opens at 7 AM and there I was. I came in through the gates of the gated community and parked in the self parking lot at the spa. Waited in front for five minutes and the doors opened! I felt like putting my face against the window while I waited and say, "open, open, open". I was greeted by a lovely young woman who checked me in and walked me around the grounds to show me around. As I came so early, I had the place to myself for the first two hours. I used the gym, took a swim, went in a couple of Jacuzzis until my girlfriends arrived at 9:30 AM. I'm more of an introvert, so it was perfect. Altogether, we took a yoga class at the beautiful yoga pavilion. We sat by the pool and had a lovely lunch. The food was excellent, including the complementary treats and banana bread. The only negative about the pool was that we were told if we left for more than 20 minutes our belongings would be removed. We couldn't hold our chairs for the day. That was news to us. It was a warm 90° day on a Friday in March and the community and hotel is allowed to use the spa grounds and they all showed up. Every lounge chair was full. Note to self: come Monday through Thursday. The massage: I'm going to say it's one of the best massages I've ever had in my life (and I've been to other five star spas). Pure bliss. Jackie was my masseuse. She listened to me when I asked for stronger pressure and then from there, I went into another world of goodness. She had such love in her eyes when it was all done. This is the most expensive massage I've ever had in my life. Around $400 for a 60 minute massage (with tax and tip) not including lunch. But treating ourselves once in a while is worth it. We felt like we were princesses. Yes, we'll be back. Maybe a while from now to save up our pennies, but we will be back.

Beautiful Grounds, But Not the Five-Star Experience I Expected…read moreI visited Rancho Valencia on my birthday expecting a true five-star experience, and while there were genuinely lovely moments, the overall visit fell short of what a resort at this level should deliver. A few things worth knowing before you book: they do not offer a day pass. Access to the resort is granted by booking a service through their spa, which is fine in principle. What's not fine is their pricing transparency. The rates listed on their website are not what you'll actually pay. Pricing changes based on demand, time of day, and availability. I received two different booking confirmations for the same treatment at two different prices, neither of which matched what was on their site. When I asked at check-in, they explained their dynamic pricing model casually, as if it were common knowledge. It isn't, and it should be disclosed at the time of scheduling. No one mentioned it when I called to book. The check-in staff was cordial, but the energy made it clear they were sizing me up. It was subtle and perhaps unintentional, but noticeable enough to color the start of my day. The property itself is genuinely beautiful. Lush grounds, a cold plunge, multiple pools, and access to yoga and fitness classes throughout the day. The yoga class I attended was listed as intermediate to moderate, but the instructor, who normally teaches the advanced class, ran it at a moderate to advanced pace. I was the only person in the room at the intermediate level and spent more of the class struggling than unwinding. The food and beverage program is what you'd expect at a resort of this caliber. When I booked my massage, I specifically requested champagne for my birthday. It was noted. It was never offered, not before my treatment, not during, and not after. That kind of detail is exactly what separates a five-star experience from a four-star one, and it was simply forgotten. My massage therapist was outstanding. She was thorough, skilled, and clearly excellent at her craft. She identified tension I didn't even know I was carrying and worked through it with real intention. She was the highlight of the day without question. Rancho Valencia is a stunning property that has the bones of an exceptional experience. But the lack of pricing transparency, the inconsistent service details, and the atmosphere at check-in kept it from living up to its reputation. I'm not sure I'd return.
