    Great fun for all ages.

Thank goodness the carousel is open again and the main man Fernando is back with his super friendly, happy nature. My son loves to ride the unicorn but there is so many other beautifully decorated, ornate animals to chose from. This is definitely different to your regular horse only carousel. This price is still amazing at $2 per ride and they always play current songs. I'm not into 'Frozen' the movie nor is my son but if that's your thing 'Let It Go' is a popular play at the carousel.

Had my daughters first birthday party here last summer. After searching many venues I chose this one and am so happy to have done so. Fernando and the 2 girls working with him the day of the party were ALL ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. They were so helpful with putting up decorations, filling up balloons, interacting with the children. I booked it on a Sunday so there was also a little magic show in the middle of the party which the kids enjoyed.

This a Great carousel , and we love the music. I'm happy that they brought back Fernando because the carousel is not the same without him.

$3.00 for one ride, it was just something cute and random to do around Chelsea Piers. They do accept credit cards!

Every time I called or spoke to someone, they were so kind, willing to answer every question I had and assured me that everything would be perfect. They were right. The space for the carousel is for 50 people because that is how many chairs they have available. We had over 50 people there and you never felt crammed or squashed. There was SO much space. We had entertainers come and they had room to set up and put on their shows as well. They park provides 6 rectangular tables for guests to sit at as well as 3 other tables that could be used to food, gifts, favors..etc. The carousel operator ( I wish I would have remembered her name) was amazing- she was so kind and attentive and even gave the baby a t shirt! The staff working at the concession was also so helpful in letting us unload the food and drinks prior to the party start time. A special thank you to Emily who really went above and beyond to make sure everything went right. The weather was perfect too and it helps that the entire carousel section is covered so even if its hot outside, it was nice and shaded. Our guests were raving about this party for many days afterwards. We even had many native Staten Islanders who had come there for the first time. They will definitely be returning. I want to have every party there from now on. Thank you again to the staff, Do not hesitate to throw a party here because you well get your moneys worth and the experience will surely be a positive one.

The focal point of the amusement park is the historic Flushing Meadows Carousel. It contains four rows of figures, including 64 jumping horses, 7 standing horses, a lion, and 2 chariots. It was created to serve patrons of the 1964 New York World's Fair by combining two earlier carousels, both of which were carved in Coney Island in the first decade of the twentieth century by renowned carver Marcus Illions. The two historic carousels used for its construction were the Feltman's Carousel (1903) and the Stubbman Carousel (1908). While the 1964 World's Fair was going on, the carousel was located in the Lake Amusement Area. In 1968, the carousel was moved to its current spot which is adjacent to the Queens Zoo. In 2012, NY Carousel Entertainment was awarded the contract to operate the Flushing Meadows Carousel. The company made cosmetic repairs to the machine, repainting it, sanding and staining the historic wooden floor, and adding new fencing to the entire area. The following year, Fantasy Forest Amusement Park opened. The carousel was joined by additional rides which include the Corona Choo Choo, the Twirling Teacups, the Bouncy Baja Buggies, the Corona Cobra Coaster, and the Queens Motor Speedway. My family and I recently visited Fantasy Forest Amusement Park while we were spending the day at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. We spent the morning at the Queens Zoo and the small amusement park is conveniently located next to it. Although there aren't many rides at Fantasy Forest, the ones that they do have are very fun. We told our sons that they could pick any two rides to go on. First, they both accompanied me on the Queens Motor Speedway. My sons liked how the cars quickly zip around the corner during each course rotation. Afterwards they both accompanied my wife on the beautiful carousel. Overall we had a fun visit the Fantasy Forest and we hope to stop again on a future visit to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park!

Their website says they're open Friday to Sunday, and there's no update on their Facebook page, but they are open! The carousel is the main draw obviously. It has been deemed a historic national site, as the initial carousel was built in 1903, only to be rebuilt in 1966 after a fire. It now sits in Woodhaven, Queens, restored to its former glory and awaiting children from all the borough and beyond. One wouldn't think the NY Carousel would be an underrated family activity given its history, but too many folks are unaware that it exists even now. The city has taken great steps to ensure its longevity and anyone looking for kid friendly activity or a little nostalgia has come to the right place. While it is a short ride in the natural beauty of the park, the surrounding space makes it an ideal getaway for families who want to book the space for gatherings of whatever kind. The Carousel itself is the main attraction of course, though there are other rides for kids that range from a train ride to a recently added mini ferris wheel dubbed the "Woodhaven Wheel." Ticket costs for the rides vary, but the last time I checked it was $35 for a 10-pack (i.e. $3.50 a ticket). While there are some small carnival games and story telling sessions, this is not a substitute for any major carnival / amusement park on a bigger scale in any way. Think of this as a place to kill a couple of hours with the young ones. I'd recommend bringing food in and avoiding their options (think hot dogs, small packs of chips, etc.) if at all possible. They've closed this section of the park for the rest of 2020, but I sense that in 2021 that they'll take great measures to ensure everything is safe for youngins / carefree adults to partake.
