I was so excited to eat here. I was traveling solo and asked for a table for one. I was seated inside near the staircase in a small table since it was just me and the place was moderately busy. The server brought me a menu, seasonal menu, and drink menu then told me someone would be back in a minute to take my order. Over 10 minutes passed while multiple servers walked back and forth each glancing my way. Two even passed me to go outside in the nice weather and chit chat. I was pretty embarrassed at this point so I got up and left. No one even said goodbye when I left. Luckily there was a place a few blocks over that has friendly staff, great food, and gorgeous view. Wish this place wasn't as terrific as it was because it is so far from home. Growing up on boxed or bagged Mrs.Ts or similar. and dreaming of what real pierogi must taste like, we finally unlocked this taste achievement. Sure, I've an occasional 'rog from a church society here and there might cut it but there is nothing like the fresh made goodness here. So good that a woman came in off the street and asked just to take a photo of what we were eating during our meal - unexpectedly odd and her words were something to the effect of "I won't be able to wait to actually eat here but it looks so delicious" so who were we to argue. Take a picture if you must but most importantly get your dough loving self here and fast! Yes, you'll wait a while to be seated likely (though we lucked out and got right in) and yes, you'll wait for the food as they cook them fresh. Busy place, interesting ambiance for people watching and and kind service. Not to mention 10 different pierogi and a drink only set us back 48$ USD. read more

We went to a place of this name which was located across the River from the green gate in a new building. This is a different location than the one shown in Yelp, Trip Advisor, and Google. Perhaps they recently moved? This might be the case, because our waiter told us that they were new and that their alcohol license had not yet been approved. So we had to have pirogies with non alcoholic beer. There were several open tables when we arrived. Our waiter told us that the wait for pirogies would be 45 min to an hour. And no real beer. Not sure what the problems were. The food was OK. Baked pirogies were flavorful but a bit dry. Boiled pirogies were doughy. Service was good. Overall, this place performed well under their social media ratings. Something was amiss. read more

Our hotel recommended this place and while it is definitely touristy, we enjoyed it so much we went back twice. The staff are all very nice and speak great English, which makes it easy to get the most out of the menu. The best part is the flexibility to mix and match so you can try lots of different pierogi. The first night I had a mix of baked and traditional, the second time I just stuck with traditional. Everything is fresh and made to order. We ate on the patio both nights - something to note is that you need to choose inside or outside and get seated there as the staff handles them separately. If you walk inside, you can see people in the kitchen through the window in the floor busily making pierogi. For me, five pierogi are more than enough for a meal but you can also get larger sets plus add on more if you want. I also loved the beer and my husband loved the cheesecake. read more

As an American visiting Poland, the staff was amazingly accommodating with their excellent English. Obviously this is the place for pierogis ! Large selection of boiled or over roasted. Many sauces to choose from Quaint setting on a quiet street. Great ! read more

Fantastic restaurant that has an old world charm to it. Extensive menu of pierogis, soups, breads. Beer selection is off the charts. Service was fast and efficient. Baked or boiled the pierogis were delicious. Had the vegetarian baked pierogis and they were excellent. You can order as many as you want but an order of 3 is plenty. Potato pancake with meat was a massive hit and filled with meat and spices. Dessert was fresh apple pie and a peanut and toffee pierogis that was very good. Great meal and the restaurant is located in the heart of the town so you can walk off the goodness afterwards while you see the sites. read more

The food here was okay - they do serve traditional polish dishes. The inside of the restaurant is really nice and cozy. The waitress was really nice as served us quickly. I like how you can try different Perogies by mix and matching. I would stick to the dumplings and I preferred them boiled over fried. read more

Great restaurant for pierogi. We did the megamix, 3 baked and 4 pan fried, and each one was delicious. They also have 4 different types of Mead, for those that like sort of stuff. I tried 2 of them, and each one blew my mind. For Americans looking to try pierogi, I cannot recommend this place more highly. read more

Enjoyed our outdoor dining experience. Be warned! The pierogi bowl that consists of 22 baked pierogi is A LOT! Way too much for four people. If you do order that dish, be smart abt which types you order and don't order more than eight meat ones - you'll quickly get bored of them and look forward to the vegetarian / sweet ones. We had really looked forward to enjoying authentic pierogies in Gdańsk, but unfortunately we had an incredibly disappointing experience at Pierogarnia Stars Mtyn. The pierogies were actually pretty good, but they were delivered 2 hours after we sat down for lunch and after we had to request beverages and bread multiple times and finally get the manager involved. I know Europeans have a more leisurely dining approach, but this was ridiculous. read more

Must see if you are up for tourist no taste fast food. Very loud place with nothing to write home about soups (chicken, tomato and spicy red broth) and far from what we are used to dumplings. Needles to say the did not have any fresh fruit ones, only with chocolate inside... which has nothing to do with Polish dumplings. Beware of hot warming up beverages, which consist half of sugar.
