The area has limited vegan places and options, this is a great option for getting out and having dinner somewhere. I have been here twice since trying to switch over to the vegan/plant based lifestyle and I have been impressed. I tried the Quesadilla burger with an impossible patty and thought it was flavorful but messy. Buffalo cauliflower appetizer was awesome. Meatball sandwich was good as well. The beer flight with all their beers was only $15! So of course we did that because you can't pass up on an offer like that. We loved all the beers, some more than others. Our favorites being Fall For Revenge and Bogart. We had already had dinner but decided to take a peek at the menu. We didn't realize the cuisine was plant based, and I had just recently gone dairy free so we were thrilled. We tried the buffalo cauliflower and the pretzel sticks. THEY WERE SO GOOD. We loved the food so much that we went back the next day for lunch on our way out of town. My husband got the gyro and I got the quesadilla burger. They were good but I might try another sandwich next time. Will order the buffalo cauliflower and pretzel sticks every time we go. Our waitress on Wednesday night, Ashtyn, was so sweet, kind and attentive. She helped guide us through the food menu. Their seating area is outside with a few tables inside right by the open garage door. So very covid safe. The tables were well spaced out. For lunch pickup Thursday, the food was set aside on a table and I prepaid before pickup. They also do curbside if that's your preference. Cool little spot in the middle of nowhere. Tried a flight which was a great deal at $15 for 10 5 oz glasses, getting to try all the beers on draft. Ended up liking 3 of the 10...and got a 16 oz glass of the Down With the 815. The food was great, very vegetarian friendly. I was impressed with the variety and quality of beer. More so, I was impressed with their vegan/vegetarian menu. I enjoyed their sweet/hot sriracha Brussel sprouts and their chili. Very quick and friendly service. I was taken aback that they provide a flight of all 10 beers on tap for only $15. My friend is vegetarian and said this is a must go to place. I am a meat eater, but I'm adventurous and thought I'd try it! We ordered the nachos-which were good, but as a meat eater it definitely felt like they were missing something. However, I would consider ordering them again if we went back. I ordered the Korean tacos and my friend ordered the Asian chicken wrap With potato salad, the other friend ordered the same wrap with fries. The tacos were amazing! I got it with a side of fries instead of chips, and as a fry lover, these weren't great, limp, but not horrible! I tried a piece of my friends chicken on her wrap and it tasted so much like real meat. If I were to go back I think I'd try that! After all all finished, our mouths were burning off, so be ware! All were happy with how the meals were prepared and all agreed that they pass well for fake meat/dairy. I had an Impossible burger, and my position is that if they take all the real meat away tomorrow, I could do fine with Impossible. It's a good analogue when done right. The menu items were all vegan. No meat....no BBQ....no PIG! But!!! Don't let that deter you from coming here. My husband (i.e., major carnivore) loved it. He couldn't believe how much his buffalo chicken wrap tasted like the real thing, and how delicious the fries were. I couldn't believe how delicious the patty melt and pretzel appetizer were. The pretzel comes with a grainy mustard sauce and a "cheese sauce" that tastes more like chicken broth. I liked them both. If you order the beer flight...make sure you have time to stay a while, or at least share it with someone else. It's huge! 10 5 oz. samples of their drafts for $15. I'd never seen such a huge flight. I couldn't finish a few of them. The Ruby Rasp (a raspberry flavored) beer was my favorite. It was delicious and took home a 32 oz. bottle. The 32 oz. is $12. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. And it's got a relaxed, typical brewery vibe. There was an outdoor seating area, which is nice, but it did allow for a lot of flies, and a bee, to get inside and buzz around our heads the whole time. They need to figure out a way to keep the pests outside. Whether you are a vegan or not, YOU MUST check this place out if you're in, or driving through, Machesney Park. It's fantastic! Stopped by Pig Minds Brewing Co on the way up to Madison and I'm obsessed. FOOD: tried two versions of their wingz: House BBQ and Sweet & Spicy Chile. They also let me get some of their Hot sauce on the side. The house bbq was wonderful, the sweet and spicy not as much. I loved the side of hot sauce so much that I ordered their Hot wingz to go, and they were delicious when I had them a few days later. The waitress recommended that my partner try the gyro and that was also amazing. DRINKS: I had the Happidaze golden ale and my partner had the Rasp, White, and Blue, which I think they recently rolled out. Both were delicious beers. If we didn't have to continue driving that day, I would have gotten a flight - they're only $15! Overall, a great experience. I hope to go back again next time I'm in town! read more

Pig Minds is such a cool place for so many reasons. My Wife and I had a celebratory lunch here and were blown away. Being that we are both vegan, we wanted to be able to not have to worry about what we were ordering. That is clearly depicted in the Images i uploaded(we ordered a lot). The Food: We ordered Nachos and Onion rings to start, we shared an impossible burger with fries and we ordered a side of Mac n Chz for our daughter just in case she didn't like anything else. The Onion rings were amazing! BRAVO! The nachos were good, but left more to be desired. They were horribly distributed which lead to a lot of chips with no toppings at all, and a lot of chips with too much which meant saugy nachos... The flavor was great thought. I recommend getting these with a group of 4 so that they are eaten fast, otherwise they will get mushy. Or serving them on more of a platter and more evening distribute toppings. The mac was good. Our daughter (2 year old) hated them... but her parents loved them. now the the star of the show! The impossible burger! Our very first experience with this incredible invention was a hit! Everything about this burger was perfect. I highly recommend it. Drinks: I ordered a Barrel Aged Joe Daddy and it was superb. The type of beer i could drink every single day. My wife ordered a Margarita, it was also incredible. Fresh lime juice used which is the sign of a great bartender. We weren't even aware that they had a full bar. Please surprise. Desserts: My wife has a sweet tooth, and we were here for a spacial occasion. So she ordered the Brownie and the Carrot Cake. We both agreed the Carrot cake knocked it out of the park!! Great for vegan eats and plenty of beer. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place like this near Rockford, so I had to check it out. It has a pub/brewery feel, but there are some small tables to dine at both inside and out. With so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, I decided to just give a bunch of appetizers a whirl. Everything is vegan, but not your boring "typical" vegan choices. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I can't speak to the beer too much. I had a coffee stout and it was mildly sweet and actually more flavorful than I was expecting. The seitanic wings were the best thing I tried. Great flavor and came with a very good dipping sauce. I tried them with the house BBQ sauce, but I kind of wish I had tried the extra hot sauce. The pretzel was good, although it was mighty greasy. I guess you expect that for bar food. The garlic breath fries were good, but I'd say just good. A lot of tiny bits of fries that had an overly hard crunch. Edit: I came back a second time and tried the wings with their atomic hot sauce. It was hot, but not as spicy as I was expecting! The waitress was outstanding all around and she also asked if I dared to try the Dead Heat hot sauce. I tried a bit and my eyes couldn't stop tearing. Now that's a hot sauce that might be too much for me! I also had the nachos during my second visit and they were okay. The chips were a little bit greasy, but I still enjoyed them. Pig Minds has been an absolute favorite of mine for years, but recently they have changed some of their recipes and some items just aren't as good as they used to be. We got the nachos last night and they were so unappetizing that we didn't even eat a quarter of them and there were seven of us. I did ask if they changed the way they had been making them and I got confirmation that I'm not crazy and that they are trying to cut down on expenses by not having as many sauces or toppings so they are using the same ones for multiple things, even if the overall taste is worse. On top of that no one seemed to care when we said they were gross. Also two people at our table got food, and then three more people 20 minutes later and then finally the last two of us got our food after everyone was finished up. It makes me so sad when awesome places start to cut corners. read more
