Pork Ribs, Brisket and cowboy beans! Sooooo good.

Fantastic brisket and ribs smoked to perfection! The homemade cowboy beans are some of the best I've ever had, savory with a kick! Friendly hospitable service we will definitely come back.

This is my new favorite burger place in the Mini-Cassia area. I had the Texas burger it had to easily be a half pound burger patty with brisket all cooked just right. There were nuggets and fries for the kids and my wife ate most of her Animal fries.

Food was good. Good flavor and tender ribs as well as brisket. Good service, seemed to be a family run business. Lots of outdoor seating some covered some not. They had a few games like Jenga and Corn hole. The best part was the cobbler pretty sure it was made in a Dutch oven and served with home made ice cream. You should definitely stop if you are ever passing through Albion.

It was okay. Didn't taste the most fresh or longest smoke but most of us enjoyed the food. A few unique plates and I always like that.

Food and service is wonderful, it is a comfortable environment to eat outdoors in a quaint little town.

We were jazzed to try Smokey Bone as an extension of this food hall…read more The menu was pleasantly overwhelming. Thought the three-meat sampler was good bang for our buck: brisket, pulled pork and smoked pork ribs. $18 for generous portions. We were gonna try the wings but after the server heaped the mounds of brisket and ribs on our tray - we scratched them. We also got corn bread and slaw for our a la carte sides. The meats were good, and good without the BBQ sauces (Carolina Vinegar, Spicy BBQ, Alabama Horseradish). Though we were basically drinking the vinegar by the end of the meal. The ribs were our favorite - lovely, crispy exterior with charred ends and tender once we dug in. The pulled pork was alright. Tasted more like it would work better as a topping on some mac or fries than as a main protein on your plate. I loved the corn bread. Dense and appropriately brittle. It was a fitting companion for the meats. Don't know when we'd be in town again to give other menu items some attention, but Smokey Bone has left a lot of good eats to the imagination - enough to know we could recommend this place to other out-of-towners without getting our foodie cards revoked.

Not impressed with this bbq! Got the brisket and corn bread…read more Flavor on brisket is just ok but without sauce it's dry! The corn bread is just ok more sweet cakey flavor than a good bbq corn bread. The young man cutting the meat was fine but the girl at the register wasn't. I asked for butter for the cb and she forgot it. When I looked in the box I asked her for the butter and she tells me there is none. I ask if there's any in the back and she says no without going to even check and they were not busy. Then she gives me the same meh face she gave the guy in front of me when she told him they were out of the beans. Made no effort whatsoever to go out of her way to do much of anything. And this was at 6 pm on a Thursday night. Not a good experience.

But I finally choose the Outlaw with a side of coleslaw. The bun was very tasty and fresh. The brisket was tender and flavorful. There were two strips of bacon on top of the brisket and three onion rings on top of that. I took off the top bun, added some BBQ sauce and then proceeded to enjoy each thing piecemeal. Until I came to just the brisket and the bottom slice of bread which was small enough to fit into my mouth. It was all yummy. This was our lunch after a visit to Butterfly Haven which was wonderful and I would highly recommend both businesses.

Tucked away down an offstreet, past anything else a person would go to sits a plain, dusty parking lot full of cars and trucks--That's how you know it's lunchtime at Smokin Gun BBQ. As soon as you open the door you are surrounded in old west theme, with old Coca Cola ads, Western movie posters on the walls, and old style wooden bench seats. You order at the counter, giving an insiders view to the sweet, busy, long time resident couple, Clint and Jeanne pouring love into the food. Immediately, Jeanne rushed over to us, not in the strong raspy southern drawl you'd expect, but sweet and softspoken as a dandelion. "I'm so so sorry, we got a really big order this morning, so we are out of brisket, and nearly out of ribs." She hurried back to work on the other side of the counter. One would think, "What? A BBQ place w/o brisket and ribs," but looking around at the full dining room of people grubbin down, they knew "everything here is good." So, without fuss, I ordered a Smoked Turkey Sandwich & Mac n Cheese. The turkey sandwich comes on jalapeno sourdough, with bacon ranch, swiss cheese and lettuce. She got some Pulled Pork and Coleslaw. Omgosh!, that turkey sandwich is magnificent! Crunchy, chewy, & grainy sourdough, with supreme house made dressing!! They make all their unique dressings in house. I will go back to Blackfoot just for that. The Mac& Cheese, lol, more like mini tubas bubbling with warm cheese. We didn't talk much to eachother during this trip cuz, 1. She was busy with verbalzing sounds to her juicey, smokey pork & slaw. Also, Clint entertained us at table side. Glib old guy with plenty of stories about his younger days, and his love of old western movies. He also proudly brought samples of their sauces and feature meats--It was a blast!, and I'm better for having met them! Please come show them some love, but show up prompt cuz first come first serve.
