My Husband and i went into the chatterbox after church. The cafe was only half full. The waitress saw us walk in but said nothing to us, so we went to an empty table. She then came over to us and said it would be an hour before we received any food. She gave no explanation and did not apologize. the restaurant is only open until 2pm. If they don't want customers after 12pm they should close sooner. read more

We may have caught the cook on a bad day. The toast was not edible, the French toast was like chewing jerky and the cinnamon roll was a rock. Not sure how they do their bread service but it needs to change. Took over an hour to get our food. If you go to Rupert Idaho or are within 30 miles come and visit. The food and service are amazing!! I got the loaded hash browns and egg sandwich...you will not leave hungry. By the looks of how busy it was, you can tell locals loved this spot. We sat down and our order was taken right away. The egg sandwich was just normal as well as the hashbrown. As I have observed the place, I can say there's nothing special with their food but the way the employees treat their customers, I think that is one of the reasons why people keep on coming back here. read more

I really don't know what all the fuss is about but I will say breakfast trumps lunch. Although we did receive burnt toast. I usually order the Garbage omelet which is hugge and has anything you would ever want inside. I was disappointed during lunch. Like a great philosopher once said "The greatest heartbreak is spending money on food that is well ...not great." Lol It took me a while to order as everything they had on there menu was out. Finally checked out this locally own little cafe! This place is known for breakfast and their cookies in a jar (which I failed to try but idk why) Small little old building in the heart of Rupert. They were pretty good about sitting us quickly even though they seemed scattered brained on where they had openings. I ordered the pancakes and biscuits and gravy. The pancakes are massive and good! They also are cheap, so your getting huge pancake for a killer price. If I had known my pancakes were so big I wouldn't have gotten a full size of biscuits and gravy. Man they smothered those biscuits you couldn't even see the biscuits. Way too much gravy for my liking and I didn't even eat half the gravy so was kinda a waste. My husband got the omelet that had the biscuits and gravy in it. He liked it, his was also massive size for the price. My daughter got kids meal simple eggs and bacon toast. Main thing here is you get a lot of food for you money and it pretty good food too. Is it the best breakfast place I've ever been too? The food is typical diner comfort food and nothing I would rave about. I usually have the burger with fries or Onion Rings that are always more greasy than I would like. That's about all I've ever had there. For the most part Sofie's is a local gathering place popular with the locals that has a pretty great breakfast and coffee. The place is clean and customer service is good to great. I will eat there again. read more

Sophie's is a cute little breakfast/lunch place with plenty of seating inside or out. We try to stop by at least once a week. Staff is always friendly and prompt. I usually get a scone with maple and butter and the bad A omelette I can never pass up an omelette with chicken fired steak and gravy in it! It's my favorite dish. I usually get a side of bacon that's hit or miss. Somedays it's delicious crisp cooked perfect and somedays it's over cooked/burnt. Overall it's a great little section of the Rupert Square. The food was ok. We shared a burger and chili fries. The burger was very good and the bun was very yummy. The chili fries were at best ok. The chili tasted like canned chili. The fries simple skinny fries. Could of been left in the fryer a bit longer. The wait staff was not very attentive and we had to figure out where she was to pay. Sorta felt if you were a regular it was a place to hang. A traveler passing through maybe should pass on through. Nothing special and not worth the extra time to pull off the freeway and take at least 10 min to get to the shop. So over all food was ok service was very slow and wait help inattentive. If ever we find ourselves in that area I don't think we will stop in for a return visit. read more

Almost didn't stop here as Google says that it's permanently closed. The waitstaff at Henry's Drift Inn highly recommended this place and it saved us a stop in Pocatello on our way to Casper. You walk in the door and it is a very hometown diner feel. The waitstaff is friendly and the parking lot is crowded (always a good sign for a restaurant). They were a little understaffed (only one waitress), so the coffee service took a little longer than expected, but the food came fast. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was awesome (see picture). My mom had the breakfast sandwich which she said was 4/5 because she doesn't like American cheese. My dad had a cheese omelette with jalapeños and a side of hash browns. After travelling over 2000 miles on a roadtrip and being completely sick of diner food and chain restaurants along the highway, we stumbled upon this little gem. Lots of choice for breakfast and lunch, and delicious fresh food. I had the breakfast burrito, it was huge and I assumed I would never eat it all but it was so delicious that I did. My boyfriend had the chef salad and the chilli cheese fries, both were so good. The pricing is very reasonable. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and the chef also checked on us during our meal. We bought homemade cookies to go and they were AMAZING. Worth the few minutes drive from the highway.
