Traveling home from a trip and thought we'd try this place for lunch. Husband and I both love smoked bbq. How this place got such good reviews is beyond me. Has to be from friends and family of the business, or people around there have y e er had good bbq to compare it to. No prices beside the menu items, but we figure...roadside bbq, can't be that expensive. Two pork sandwich meals and an extra side of Mac and cheese was $31! The bbq didn't have any smoke flavor at all. Could've been cooked in a crockpot. Baked beans were mushy, and the Mac n cheese was swimming in flavorless cheese sauce. The sandwich and sides at best, maybe $8, nothing what they charged. Also, no public bathrooms, which seemed very odd. Save your $. Go to the $ store up the road and get some jerky or Vienna sausages. read more

On top of this place being adorable the staff was super enthusiastic and kind. We've passed by this place a few times and finally stopped it was so worth it. They fried us some fresh catfish they were so yummy. We both got pulled pork sandwiches the fries are outstanding! Coleslaw and potato salad were good but would love to try some other sides next time. We got a few different desserts they were allllll licious! I was travelling out to North Carolina to visit my daughter and as I do on every road trip I look for local and unique BBQ spots to stop. As I drove through the mountains of Virginia, I passed by this BBQ spot on the opposite side of the road. It was lunch time, and I was hungry, so I turned around and it was definitely worth it!! I broke one of my usual rules which is not to get pulled pork, it's such an easy meat to do and to be honest most places don't do it justice. Piggy's pulled pork was just like I'd do at home, tender, juicy and had the perfect smoke ring. I got Mac n Cheese and beans as my sides and they were a star just like the pork. I was asked if I liked fried catfish, and I mean honestly who can say no?? LOL. I did in fact get a small side of their fried catfish and it was some of the best I've ever had. The service is friendly and laid-back, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal, if I take the same path the next time I head to North Carolina I will be stopping by again. Both their BBQ & catfish is the best in the area. Their pulled pork sandwiches are very generous in the amount of pork on each sandwich. My favorite is the coleslaw. but their potato salad and macaroni salad is also vey good. Staff is always friendly when you order at the window. If you are in a time crunch you can call ahead your order. read more

This roadside gem was the perfect pit stop on our journey south. The fish bites were so light and crispy, I could have eaten a second portion! The pulled pork was tender with a smoky flavor and the BBQ sauce was excellent! There is a small produce store next to it where I got apple butter, chow chow, and some fresh pinto beans. Best bar-b-cue & catfish I've ever eaten! The catfish sandwich & catfish bites are delicious - and I'm not normally a catfish fan. Don't let the looks deceive you -- this roadside bar-b-cue "stand" is a must to visit if you are passing by. The price are very reasonable. The baked beans & cole slaw are great. The owner is very rude. Spent 50 bucks there from a business they left out an order and he told me that it sat there for 10 mins (we ordered from another town) and was in a pile so it wasn't his fault I didn't get everything. They hand the food out I don't reach in to get it! No apology or anything. Will not be eating here again. No customer service skills at all. Would not recommend this place. They are flexible with their platters & will allow you to substitute a second side of beans instead of slaw which I think is pretty cool.
