Moon Dogs used to be good but lately they have hidden the silverware so you now have to ask for it, But then they give you only a fork, like you are supposed to cut your bread and lasagna with a fork. When we asked why they don't hand out the silverware; the young man was indignant and said some folks don't need silverware. Really, to eat a salad or lasagna? We came in Sunday after church and everything was absolutely horrible. The cheese sticks were cold on the inside, salad was old, lasagna and spaghetti had just a tomato paste on it. I highly recommend the club, it was on fresh baked bread and it was hot...Delicious, you have to try them. Way back in the last century, I used to go to this spot when it was a chain pizza restaurant. I'm happy to see it still has it's roots in a good pizza/sub shop. The staff was friendly, spot on and quick. Well done to the team that works and leads here. This is very important and they have done it well. I ordered the meatball sub. I'm a sucker for them. It's likely my go-to sub if I don't want a pizza. I was a bit hungry so I ordered a "whole". I couldn't believe that they had a "quarter" sized sub. Then the monster came out. My perspective was WAY off. The reality is that the "whole" equals two large subs. Literally! There were two loaves cram packed with meatballs and marinara sauce. Now I get it.... A half is a whole (single) and a quarter is a half. Follow me? Now you know why I took a whole sub home. The price was right so I'm more surprised than disappointed. With the sub, I ordered a bag of bbq chips and an iced tea. Very well made or poured (no idea of how it originated). Either way, I liked it. The interior was the same dim lighted place I always knew, but the back porch along the road was the perfect place on such a sweet spring day. I'm sure if the weather is even remotely nice - that's the way to go. So, definitely would recommend the place. My Pro-tip would just be to recognize that "Whole" = 2 subs; "Half" = 1 sub; "quarter" = 1/2 sub. Buy what you want. read more

We stayed at The Inn at Wise and walked down the street to eat at this spacious, clean restaurant. There is a large indoor space and a pretty spacious outdoor area as well. They have an open kitchen with friendly personnel, and the service was excellent. They serve pizza, subs and pasta dishes. We enjoyed everything we ordered and definitely would return. Pizza-we ordereda lot of food, but also got a small pepperoni just to try the pizza. The Crust was thin but not too thin. It was very tasty and would definitely get the pizza again. They have one pizza that has all 13 toppings on it. Would like to try that. Subs- the bread was so good. it cannot be store-bought bread. The subs were toasted and smashed a little bit like a Panini. We got meatball, Italian and turkey/bacon/Swiss. Subs come with lettuce, tomatoes, banana peppers, mayo, vinegar, and oil and probably more toppings. I can't remember. All the sandwiches were excellent. The meatball sub doesn't come with all those toppings and it was delicious. (0; Pasta - we had the lasagna. They have other pastas, spaghetti and meatballs, and I think manicotti and baked ziti. It was good. Not the best lasagna I've ever had but was tasty with cheese and meat filling up. Came with side salad, which was absolutely huge, and toasted cheese bread. Beer - they have many beers on tap that are made in a brewery that is affiliated with the restaurant and were excellent. Happy hour is I think from 4-7 when the beer is half price. Excellent deal for premium beer on tap. Dessert - they have an unique dessert, which is choice of 3 different flavors of cheesecake in a large sugar cone. That dessert is also made locally. A nice touch. Unusual and very tasty. read more

I stopped here with a friend who said Moon Dog was the best pizza in Wise. They have daily specials and on a Monday I went with their medium sized 1 topping pizza. The pizza was about 14" with a perfectly crispy wood-fired oven crust. The pepperonis were toasty and the cheese was so fresh and stringy. Overall, it was a great pizza with plenty to bring home as leftovers. They have outdoor seating to assist with social distancing and all their servers wore masks, which is greatly appreciated. The pie had several doughy places and was undercooked. The topping were not spread properly resulting in 90 percent of the mushrooms being on two pieces, most of the bacon on a different 3 pieces, and most of the sausage on yet 2 other pieces. I have a strong feeling that the pies are really good here if or when sop is followed with topping amounts and spread as well as cooking time and temps. I could be considered a regular at this establishment. Usually stick with the subs there and they are well worth the price. The pizzas tend to be a little greasy due to the overload of cheese and the little time they keep it in the oven. There's a small selection of beers on tap but will throw in a few local ale surprises. Happy hours are from 2-9 on Wednesday and Thursday for the best deals. Food is prepared in a timely manner and servers will greet you politely. Great atmosphere for a small town and probably the closest thing to a sports bar in the town of Wise.
