We only got two towels per room, couldn't get any more unless you turned in those two. During breakfast in the lobby, my son had to use the restroom so he tried using the lobby bathroom, but apparently that one is only for employees on some days.. weird because the day before we used that restroom all day because the one in the pool area was absolutely disgusting ALL day. We have a cot bed and bedding we can roll up there for you too!" Who does tha!?!? Good people do that! Staff was VERY friendly and helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty! When we got to the room, it was very nice and clean. Beautiful view. Large fridge (large for a hotel, at least) and a stove. Free freshly baked cookies in the lobby as well as water and lemon water. Elevator was a little slow, but the stairway didn't look like a great place to commit a murder, unlike most hotel stairways (don't ask me how I know ). Clean indoor pool. We tried taking one cookie each, but tuat didn't go over well with the staff. Here's how that conversation went. "Caleb, did mom and dad want a cookie?" "No, Braden, they did not." Hotel staff replied, "Please! Take some extras anyway! We just baked them and we only have one more arrival today!" Can you believe that? Check in was a five star experience at least, and I'm not one of those people who leave five stars at everything. I usually leave 3 or 4 stars for exceptional experience. But when I awoke, everything was a blur, as if - oh, false alarm, I hadn't put my glasses back on yet. We headed downstairs to a free well-stalked breakfast. As a Southerner, I found the gravy to be far from remarkable, but for what it's worth, it tasted good. The manager kept coming up to people to ask them how their meal was. There was a nice coffee machine with strong but compostable lids. The staff upon checkout was very polite and wished us swfe travels. Overall, this is a great place to stay for a quick overnight or a week-long trip to the nearby popular hiking and nature parks.

I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. My family and I booked the room specifically so our children could enjoy the pool over the weekend. We are local, so the pool was the only reason for our stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff completed the check-in process and only afterward informed us that the pool was closed. Had we been told this before checking in, we would not have proceeded with the reservation at all. Because the pool was unavailable, we stayed in the room for less than an hour while trying to resolve the issue. The front desk told us they could not cancel since the booking was through Expedia, so we contacted Expedia directly. Expedia reached out to the hotel, but the hotel declined to issue a refund even though we did not stay and primary amenity we booked for was unavailable. Charging nearly $300 for a stay we could not use is unfair, especially when the lack of disclosure prevented us from making an informed decision. We would have never checked in had we been told the pool was closed. I have stay at this hotel many of times and have never had issue this time however was different. The pool was the reason i left however, i was upset already because when we arrived she said there was a 250 deposit which I have never had to pay all the other time we stayed and she was going to cancel then and I said no ill figure it out however if she would have informed me the pool was close before checking us in I would have let her canceled. We checked in at the front office where we were greeted politely and were given instructions on how to get to, enter and use our sauna pod. The Pods are located right across the street from the Chalets so I was worried at first about having adequate privacy but once we entered the Pod I felt I was transported to the middle of the woods. My favorite part of the Pod was that it was Bluetooth equipped so I was able to play some folk music over the speakers to enhance my woodsy experience. Towels and bottled water are also provided for you in the Pod. We booked an hour, which I thought might be too long in the heat for me personally but after taking the recommended breaks, it didn't feel long enough. We emerged from our Pod soaking in sweat but refreshed and with every endorphin in our bodies firing. It was a fabulous experience!

It snowed a lot so I soaked up the giant window views, enjoyed the hot tub, and lots of relaxing. My only big complaint was that of the cabin itself. I couldn't figure out what it was but the entire building was just loud. Like so loud, I couldn't sleep. Had I known, I would have brought ear plugs and trust me, I have them thanks to living in the city. Despite not being able to sleep my two nights there, and constant loud ass humming all throughout, the rest of the experience was solid. The space was comfy, included all the necessities, and they even plowed the driveway after the snow. I love coming here and the Chalets are a great choice. I just might ask about the sound issues on my next visit.
