Over the past 2 years I find she has been knowledgeable, skilled, caring, sensitive, patient and inspirational. I have seen lots of improvement in my capabilities and stamina. She pushes exercises to advantage but not to a level of stress and discomfort. She is a very sensitive motivator. She has a deep knowledge of pilates and its various strategies. I truly enjoy working with her. She has been my life line. What's more my daughter, half my age, was motivated to start classes with her. She goes 3 times a week and returns to support that Jody "pushes me to my limit." So this instructor has a full bag of knowledge and skills for all level of physical capacities.

I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery. Tal radiates positive energy! She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge. If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality. One of the biggest issues has been the constant turnover of trainers. Several have disappeared without any communication to members. Along with that, the training schedule has been very inconsistent, which makes it hard to stay on track. For me, building trust and a solid relationship with a trainer is essential to getting the best results. Having to repeatedly adjust to new trainers, while they also have to relearn my limitations and goals is frustrating and disruptive to progress. What's even more concerning is the lack of response from management when these issues are brought up. From conversations I've had, other members are feeling the same way. It gives the impression that there isn't much care for employees, and that ultimately impacts the member experience. I really wanted to like this gym, but the inconsistency and lack of communication have me reconsidering renewing my contract.
