We stopped here to buy some cape cod souvenirs, and had a great experience. The older lady at the…read morecounter was friendly, I did see the older guy watching people from the stairs.. which is totally fine as we weren't shoplifting but I did get the impression that they were concerned about that as they also had lots of signs to leave certain things at the register if you're buying it and not carry it around. I did buy some earrings, and I made sure to not make it seem like I was shoplifting them. (You know when you're not doing something wrong but you still don't want to be accused as if you are?) I'm shocked to read about people having issues bringing kids in here. We brought our 3 year old and she was behaved but she did was most kids do... looked at things, took toys off the shelf to carry them, etc. (We made sure she didn't run in the store or go by the glass items.. and anything she took that was we weren't buying, we made sure to put back!) ... it's hard enough being in a store with a toddler, I would be livid if someone treated us the way previous reviewers had experienced :( but we didn't have an issue, thankfully. The best part was meeting Tyler, a disabled young man in a wheelchair who must be the son/grandson of one of the employees. Our 3 year old hasn't been around many people with disabilities but we fully support her treating them like she would anyone else.. she was very excited to say hi to him & he told her he liked her shoes.

They had the rainbow tie dye long sleeve shirt on sale in my size, this is the shirt I wanted last time I was there, but my size was unavailable. I asked last time I shopped there if screen-printer John had a seagull. I love SEAGULLS! He showed me that the whale tail looks like a seagull. So this time when I stopped in I made sure I got that print. I put the seagull/whale tail Marshfield print on the back and the seagull/whale tail Brant Rock print on the front of both my shirts. Seagull/Whale In my photos when you look at the whale tail in a different way it looks like a seagull. So in this particular print you get 2 designs! Do you see the Seagull? Look above the "M" in Marshfield you will see a line and that is the seagulls beak. Go up from there with your eyes and look at the whale tail that is its wings. The body goes from the "h" to the "d" in Marshfield. Do you see the Seagull? I need to let you know before you get a white tye dye shirt don't be a dumb dumb like me, because the design prints in white, so if you get a white tye dye shirt ask screen-printer John what color ink he has available before he presses the print. It's hard to see the print on white on white. I asked screen-printer John if he could get black ink for the pictures because it would really make the picture pop out on the white and the lighter color shirts. Also, can I suggest glow in the dark ink for the pictures as well. I also bought a bucket hat with Brant Rock printed on it, it's a kids size large/x-large, but it fits my head and it makes me look super cool. When you visit Brant Rock and stop to shop at Sand & Water when you see screen-printer John tell him that "Sandy Seagull" says "Hello". Also, let him know that you see the seagull and that you love seagulls too that way he'll get seagulls in his store. It's the little things that make me happy and Sand & Water makes me as happy as a Seagull Thank you screen-printer John and cashier Shana (screen-printer John's sister in-law) your store and employees are the BEST! Reasonably priced for great quality printed items. There's different towns you can get there not just Brant Rock. There's something for everyone. The employees are AWESOME, friendly & helpful. The man that prints what you want from their selection of pictures and towns on the shirt is a nice & great guy, he's friendly, courteous and professional. I absolutely love Sand & Water & when I return to my hometown of Brant Rock again in the future I will surely stop by and shop there. The one I bought and is featured here as a photo, has been worn and washed 3 or 4 times already and it's a winner. It's made to appear weathered, as you might expect from a seafaring location. No clue if their happy hour is or is not , as claimed, legendary. Wished I'd had the time to find out. It's worth the $28.95 price. Other stores will have cheaper ones if that's a budget issue. As others said, this is a must stop, if you want a local souvenir T-Shirt. No other shops really can match the variety and fun shirts featured here. And the staff was very accommodating, as I went through checking out and trying several shirts before deciding on size, image, and color. The shop is centrally located in this busy tourist area of the Thames Street wharf district. It's right near the Pepper Palace that I also have reviewed.
