My dermatologist recommended Pill Box Pharmacy to send one of my prescriptions for skincare. He said they have a great generic version of the prescription I need at a less expensive price. They are a locally owned pharmacy with 4 locations in the South Florida area. They have locations in Pembroke Pines, Weston, Pines West and Davie. Pill Box Pharmacy is located by the Weston Post Office. In a shopping plaza amongst other outdoor restaurants and retail stores. I thought this was specifically pharmacy but it's more like a small CVS or Walgreen that also sells medical supplies. They have a wide range of things from vitamins, greeting cards, gift wrapping paper, toys, funny gifts, compression socks, orthopedic sandals, wheelchairs and all. My dermatologist had sent the prescription to Pill Box and they filled it almost immediately. They called me a few hours after my doctor's visit that my prescription was ready for pick up. They are quick and efficient. I also learned that Pill Box is a compounding pharmacy. "A compounding pharmacy is a pharmacy that customizes medications for patients, family members, or pets. This is the second Pill Box Pharmacy that Im aware of and its seems very well managed and stocked with inventory. Came in today to try to locate a four wheel collapsible walker for a family member. I enter and immediately greeted by a sales associate, Bismark. He explained some of the options of the walkers which were plentiful here in many different colors and wheel structure. No mechanical devices are covered under medicare here but the wheelers were surprisingly only $169.00. In addition, they had a nice rack of suppression socks and a good assortment of walker canes. The Pill Box Pharmacy does take most major insurances for prescriptions. Lots of hair, nail, books, greeting cards and eye, nose and throat quick grab sick day items. read more

I come here every so often to pick up a special compound prescription mouthwash for my son. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. It's hard to find a good neighborhood pharmacy these days, and these guys do it right. I tried to use a small business instead of shopping online but there is no sense of urgency at this location. A worker was asked to take care of me 3 times in 10 minutes but he felt it was more important to chat it up and laugh with a customer and another worker. So I left. Over $100 in sales lost today and future regular purchases. Why should I waste my time and money at a place that doesn't recognize that the customer comes first. Avoid this Pharmacy at all cost!!! They are extremely rude and unprofessional. Not only is it a headache to deal with them through multiple calls and texts through out the work day just to get a prescription filled. They will confirm a prescription is filled over the phone with you and let you know it on its way then send you several texts to call them back and when you do there is always a problem or something that needs to be fixed again. Why didn't we figure this out when I was on the phone the 1st time? I shouldn't have to call 3-4 times to get it resolved. More importantly they have a extremely bad attitude that puts blame on the customer for voicing their concerns. The main issued came to be when I was preparing for a 2 week vacation where I wouldn't have my medication (that I need to take daily to function for my mental health) -- I spoke with them several times (a week before the trip as well) and they assured me that I would receive my medication through several phone calls and texts. Both last night and today, I was even told and confirmed my medication would be sent out and all was good. However, at the last minute I was told that I wouldn't be able to receive it because I was traveling and they offered zero solutions to fix this issue. I voiced my concern to the pharmacist that I was frustrated by the constant back and forth and the pharmacist thought the best course of action was to cancel my prescriptions all together leaving me in a bind. They were rude and unprofessional and did not offer to hear my concerns as a customer and the bind they put me in. After we hung up, I called the manager of the store to try to resolve it and receive apology. Nope all he wanted to do was give me a earful and tell me I was in the wrong. I'm now leaving on my trip this evening with no way to get my prescription for my mental health and I'm spending my work day trying to call my health care provider to resolve this issue immediately (I'm not even sure If I will be able to get it). I was blamed and screamed at by both the manager and pharmacist for a mental health concern. Now I'm in a bind without a prescription I use to function on a daily basis. I've never had a business be so rude over the phone as this local pharmacy and I'm stunned that this is the way they do business. Customers are allowed to voice their issues with the pharmacy without having your business cancelled altogether. They knew my situation but chose to still put my mental health at risk. read more

After my annual checkup today, I was sent here for compression socks to help with the many hours of sitting all day behind a computer. And no, I'm not embarrassed to share that. This is one of the things I love about Yelp--it is a judgement-free, all-inclusive, transparent, and comfortable social media platform that does more than "like." We are a community that encourages and helps and blesses others too. I walked into this store and they were friendly and super helpful. The young man who took measurements of my legs, high thighs and feet, did so in a very medically professional manner that I felt comfortable with. The only thing I suggest if the manager reads this is that they separate a small section to do this in. Other women wouldn't feel so comfortable getting measured in an aisle. They wouldn't take my insurance even with my doctor's prescription, so I paid almost $45 for thigh-high hosiery. They're non-refundable of course, but they said they're the most durable. Now I'll have to buy four more pairs to avoid washing them every day. Time will tell how durable they are! This boutique pharmacy is unique in many ways and I love the selection of products you wouldn't find in a large retail pharmacy. I rented a wheelchair for a family member here and was impressed with their good service. I called the pharmacy and was told I could go pick up the wheelchair right away. The attendant in the store was really helpful. He showed me how to fold and open the wheelchair and also offered his assistance in picking other pharmacy items I needed, as well as loading the wheelchair into my car. The price of the wheelchair rental I felt was also very reasonable, and the wheelchair itself seemed like it was almost brand new. read more

I have had my compounded hormone prescriptions and thyroid meds filled by this pharmacy and the one at 1700 NW 122nd Terrace, Pembroke Pines for four years now. Although this pharmacy is far cheaper than the PillBox at Terrace, they absolutely lack customer service skills. At the beginning I noticed they rudeness but I ignored it because of the prices. Lately they have insinuated two times that I miss count the thyroid med -90 count- and I am therefore asking for one more pill -30 cents worth!- . They don't consider their machine might by uncalibrated. These two bad experiences have made me go back to PillBox Terrace and transfer the prescription. Yes the prices are good, but they are certainly NOT worth the aggravation due to their pettiness. read more

This location is an absolute nightmare I am Immobile after having been struck by an automobile on the sidewalk and went to go get a prescription filled for a wheelchair and compression sock and the pharmacist refuse to come outside to help me and insisted to my wife that I needed to be inside the pharmacy all the while I'm in the car in a brace from hip to ankle on able to walk with broken bones as well as MCL and PCL damage on my knees but the pharmacist could've cared less and dismissed us like we were nothing and we wound up leaving without getting the wheelchair or the other items required by the surgeon I would avoid this place like the plague and plan on filing a grievance with their corporate headquarters read more

I unfortunately had to buy a shower seat for my ailing father, went in this morning and selected one that was already assembled with a tag on it ($49.95) brought it home only to find out it doesn't fit in his shower. Called and spoke with Whitney about this literally 10 minutes after walking out of the store and asked if I may exchange it ~ she politely placed me on hold once she came back on the line she said that they could not. She remembered me and said she realized that I had just left, and offered to connect me with the person who oversees home health-care items, when he got on the phone he quickly informed me of the signs I should have seen prior to buying the chair. I said all I wanted was an exchange of some sort since it's not of use and he quickly said - No due to our sanitary policy. I proceeded to explain how it hadn't been used, how I had literally just left the store, it does not fit, the tags are on it and I bought it assembled which means it's been exposed to air contaminates - his response was "AND?" WOW! THIS IS A PRIVATELY owned business and here I was trying to give a mom and pop local shop a small sale, yet had I purchased it at Walmart, Walgreens or anywhere else I would not be out $49.95.. Sad but lesson learned big box stores is who will be getting my business moving forward ~you'd think a privately owned business would be more understanding or willing to work with their customers. read more

I purchased a thermatherapy wrap for my injured shoulder. Purchased late Friday and used it Friday night and Saturday. It exploded in the microwave first thing Sunday morning making a mess and stinking up the house. Brought it back Monday morning and they blamed the problem on me even though I followed the directions to a tee. Told me I needed to deal with the manufacturer myself. Left the box on the counter and he lifted the item out and the beads fell all over the counter and floor. Will never go back again and this store gave me the impetus to purchase from Amazon at 30% less with free 24 hour delivery. Poor attitude and service. read more

I don't know how this Pillbox ever got bad reviews, except "You can't please all of the people all of the time". They have always been quick, courteous and friendly. My sister is going through cancer treatments and they have been extremely helpful fulfilling her meds and needs. I think some people don't understand the difference between what the doctor may be prescribing and what the insurance will allow, then blaming the pharmacy for any differences. I attempted to refill a prescription that needed to be compounded. I called it in and was told it would be ready in 24 hours. I drove 15 miles to the pharmacy and was told it was not ready. The cashier gave no explanation as to why it wasn't ready. When I inquired, the pharmacist said my prescription was for 1 month. I called my doctor and she said the prescription was for a year, and that they had made a mistake. The had a copy of it in front of them. I asked them to call it in again for me. The next day they still had not filled it. I called them back and asked to speak to a pharmacist. He told me there was no mistake on his part and my doctor had not called in any prescription. He was outrageously rude, and I will never return there for any reason. read more

PILL BOX, located on WESTON, RD, don't waste your time. Extreme lack of customer service, staff is too busy stocking shelves and cannot wait on customers. Front register closed most of the time. 2 working pharmacists lack knowledge, professionalism and people skills. Any prescriptions from Pediatric Associates or Cleveland Clinic are gladly accepted. If your dr. is different, pharmacist flat out refuses. Guessing Pediatric Associates and Cleveland Clinic give the pharmacists ancillary monetary funds for prioritizing their patients. BOTTOM LINE: RUDE, SKIP THEM, take your business elsewhere. read more

I went to buy thumb brace for my daughter (without my daughter with me) and didn't know which one would fit her best so I bought a few boxes. There was no one at the medical supply counter to help me pick out the product. It was about 30 minutes before store closed. I waited around for 10 minutes so I decided to investigate on my own. I pick out 3 different brands with different support levels. I told the girl at the register that I will keep one and return the rest. She said that they won't take it back if I open the box. I understand that she was trained to say that. However, those boxes were not sealed to begin with. No one would buy it if they can't try it on for fitting. I said to her that these boxes were not sealed to begin with and I will bring them back first thing tomorrow if they don't fit. She made it clear that she was upset and annoyed. She rang them up and shoved the bag in front of me and called for the next customer in line. The next morning I brought the two unused braces back. Store signed said store hour is 9am-7pm. I showed up at 9am. They won't let us in until 9:15am despite of 4 customers waiting in the front of store. The first customer who showed up got impatient and knocked at the front door. A male employee came out and said sorry can't let you in, pharmacist hasn't showed up. I approached that employee and told him that I just need to make a return of thumb braces. He said doesn't matter, no customer can come in until pharmacist shows up. The return however was accepted after that employee making thorough inspection of products and I did not need to see any pharmacist for that. I have shopped there many times before and never been impressed with their customer service, or lack there of. None of the employee I have dealt with (at least 4 different people) are pleasant. I always support local business but sadly their lack of customer service, unfriendliness, and attitude of their employees need to be addressed. read more
