I love the atmosphere. Clean. No matter how busy they are the staff is real kind and friendly. Live entertainment. Customers are nice too. Very spacious. Big bright television. Prices reasonable. Best part they sell desserts with no nuts. Omg love it.

My husband and I had a nice quiet lunch at Pilot house this past Friday. What a nice setup. TVs at every angle and the restaurant was decorated sentimentality. Very clean as well. Our server was very nice and patient as we looked through the menu. I ordered the passion fruit margarita for my drink and my husband ordered a modelo. As appetizers, we ordered the coconut shrimp and kale Caesar salad. My husband enjoyed the shrimp very much. Well cooked. My kale salad was stunning. Delicious and satiating. A bit too much dressing, but I tossed it around a bit to even it out more. Would simply order again with light dressing. My husband ordered the Pilot house burger (med well) with fries and I got the strip loin steak (med rare) with mashed potatoes and veggies. Both were great dishes. Burger and steak cooked perfectly as ordered. Burger was fully loaded and juicy. The steak came with garlic butter on top which I used for the mash, which extinguished my need for salt. Sooo yummy. Overall a great experience. Will come again to try other dishes on another Friday date lunch.

Beautiful Views, But That's About It... The scenery here is absolutely stunning no denying that. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The food was a major letdown: bland, overcooked, and definitely not worth the price. On top of that, the wait times were ridiculous. We waited over an hour for our meals, and even longer for the check. Disappointing experience overall. Come for the view, but eat somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our delicious lunch in this cool bar and grill today while we were in Arverne. Our server, Meredith, went above and beyond today, constantly checking in with us and making sure we were okay. She also knows the Rockaway Beach area very well and not only did she tell us how to get to the Rockaway Bazaar area, but also called them to see when the live music began! The bartender and the other young waitresses and one young waiter were friendly and nice, too. We got to choose where we wanted to sit-either indoors or out on the main level patio or up on the second floor. It was windy so we decided to eat inside on the main floor. The menu selection had a great variety. My boyfriend and I were satisfied with our food choices; I got the chicken finger and French fries basket and he got the loaded nachos. Water pitchers were on our tables but I also enjoyed my Arnold Palmers and my boyfriend enjoyed his red wine. The music was really good and they even have a USMC connection and often throw events for the USMC on their beautiful outside porch located on the second floor! We will definitely be back over the summer to enjoy a meal on the rooftop!!

We enjoyed our visit to the pilot house. The wings and Bavarian pretzel were delicious. I had the roasted garlic chicken. It came with Kale which was by far the most tasty Kale I have ever eaten. The flavor reminded me of roasted marshmallows (sounds odd but true, likely brown sugar caramelized when it was seared). Service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry and it was a weekday.

WE went on Taco Tuesday, $17 for 3 tacos. Tasty but overpriced. Very loud indoors. Service was average.

There is a parking lot past the restaurant because you'll see there isn't much street parking near the establishment. The space itself is stunning big windows everywhere that let in the most gorgeous natural light, high ceilings, and beautiful decor throughout. It feels open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. There's also a live singer who performs on weekends and is absolutely wonderful, which adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere. One of my favorite details was the pasta station just behind the bar where you can watch them making fresh pasta from scratch, such a cool experience. Service was great, and our waitress was very patient with all of our questions. Now the food... even better. I had the eggs Benedict, and it definitely did not disappoint. We also tried the crispy calamari, which was fried to perfection, and the meatballs both were delicious. If this was just a sneak peek of what their dinner menu is like, I already know it won't disappoint. Can't wait to go back!

Two of them were clearly not fresh. I asked the waitress to replace them, and she called the owner over. I explained that I had gotten sick from eating a bad oyster before and was concerned about the freshness. He took the tray away and said, "Then you shouldn't order oysters." That response was rude and unprofessional. At that point, I should have canceled the rest of my order. We also ordered two pasta dishes. The Squid Ink Linguine was just okay--nothing memorable. The Spicy Sausage Gramigna was disappointing because it was supposed to include broccoli rabe, but there wasn't any in the dish. Overall, the poor quality of the oysters and the owner's dismissive attitude made for a very disappointing dining experience.

Staff were super nice and tried their best despite the situation. Tickets were $65 per person and the advertisement promised unlimited oysters and Heineken silvers from 3-5 pm (while supplies last). For the price, a reasonable person would expect as many oysters as they can eat plus flowing beers. It quickly became apparent that was untrue. Three oysters were served every 10-20 minutes. Only one type of oyster (Blue Island, the sponsor). The shuckers were working hard but the management tried to stretch their supply of oysters as much as possible to have people eat as few oysters as possible in the two hours. I counted the oysters I got in the entire agonizing two hours- 24 oysters and 6 clams. Why clams? They ran out of oysters and someone brought in a bag of clams to fill the last half hour. Mind you, most of the oysters served were tiny, skinny, and sometimes full of shell shards. Beers ran towards the end too. 24 oysters for $65 and a two hour wait.... We ended up ordering the Roadhouse nachos but the brisket looks fantastic. The brisket in the nachos was good but probably won't recommend because the nachos were very bean dominated. tl;dr don't trust them with food events. Pros: nice staff, nice bathrooms and sinks, nice bar atmosphere, brisket looks and tastes good, oysters tasted good, cocktail sauce was yummy Cons: oyster fest was a scam and total waste of both money and time, you were served three skinny oysters every 15 minutes, not "unlimited" as advertised. Previous oyster fests allowed customers to freely get oysters. The angry male staff member with a baseball cap went around grumpily telling people to sit down when they were trying to order from the bar or take pictures of the oysters.
