I was so excited to find this place and couldn't wait to give it a try, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The biggest issue was the raw oysters. Two of them were clearly not fresh. I asked the waitress to replace them, and she called the owner over. I explained that I had gotten sick from eating a bad oyster before and was concerned about the freshness. He took the tray away and said, "Then you shouldn't order oysters." That response was rude and unprofessional. At that point, I should have canceled the rest of my order. We also ordered two pasta dishes. The Squid Ink Linguine was just okay--nothing memorable. The Spicy Sausage Gramigna was disappointing because it was supposed to include broccoli rabe, but there wasn't any in the dish. Overall, the poor quality of the oysters and the owner's dismissive attitude made for a very disappointing dining experience. read more

But we also wanted pastas to try and that's an all day menu (thank god!!) our waitress was amazing and so sweet and guided us throughout the menu. we started with the lemon morning buns and cacio e pepe tater tots from the brunch menu. Then on the all day menu, we ordered: charred octopus, chef A's bolognese, squid ink linguine, a side of wild mushrooms, and espresso martinis!! Our favorite things were the: tots, morning buns, mushrooms, bolognese and espresso martinis. The morning buns were so light and fluffy and the lemon flavor came through. The tots were showered in parm cheese and I felt like I was in heaven. The mushrooms were so damn good and flavorful!!!! Chef A's bolognese was rich and so tasty, pasta was perfectly cooked and i had to order one to go. The octopus itself was delicious and the orange vinaigrette surprised us. Adrienne's was a spot recommended to me, and I will definitely be back to try dinner. It's a beautifully hidden Italian restaurant right on the water in Broad Channel. There is a parking lot past the restaurant because you'll see there isn't much street parking near the establishment. The space itself is stunning big windows everywhere that let in the most gorgeous natural light, high ceilings, and beautiful decor throughout. It feels open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. There's also a live singer who performs on weekends and is absolutely wonderful, which adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere. One of my favorite details was the pasta station just behind the bar where you can watch them making fresh pasta from scratch, such a cool experience. Service was great, and our waitress was very patient with all of our questions. Now the food... even better. I had the eggs Benedict, and it definitely did not disappoint. We also tried the crispy calamari, which was fried to perfection, and the meatballs both were delicious. Made reservations 1 week ago to celebrate my Husband's Birthday at the beautiful location. We arrived and the young hostess rudely asked if we had a reservation. After giving our name she took us to a table on the bar side and seated us directly in front of an open door where hot air was blowing into that area on a 85* very humid day. When we asked for another table she stated everything was reserved and she would check. Meanwhile the adjacent enclosed room with about 20 tables was empty. I sat at the assigned table waiting for the hostess to return as the wind was blowing pretty strongly, so my husband was able to speak to a younger "manager" who suggested we could sit at the bar for our dinner. We instead moved to another table in the same room but still very windy. *The hostess never followed up with us. I noticed 4 women at the table next to us get up, walk over to & sit in the enclosed area (which we were told was reserved) as they complained to each other about the wind bothering them. I noticed no one from the staff stopped them from sitting in the so called "reserved" area. That is when we decided to get up & leave. We headed over to Ponte Vecchio Restaurant in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. We had a Wonderful dinner, fantastic food, great service, treated with respect & great air conditioning. Ponte Vecchio is a Classy Italian restaurant and great for date night, celebrations etc. Adrienne's is a below average restaurant which can't even get reserved seating right, they sit you where THEY want not based on what you want, and ignore your complaints. Entree - most of our group of six had a cod special that was a big hit. Others had the Chef's Bolognese, and I had a (massive) Veal Chop - all got rave reviews. We've been here a couple of times to bring takeout to the beach in Rockaway, and always enjoyed what we've gotten. This time we tried the arancini telefono, little gem salad, arugula salad, lobster agnolotti, and the bolognese. The bolognese is their signature and quite lovely and creamy, and agnolotti I liked but it was lacking a little pizzazz in the filling. I think the lobster meat could have been moister and cooked a bit less to avoid being chewy, but the sauce was a very nice flavor with the saffron addition and pulled the dish through. I think adding fatty and herby elements to the filling and perhaps a garnish could go a long way. The salads were delicious, the arancini too, crispy with a great cheesy sauce on the bottom instead of your typical red sauce which I liked. Everything--pastas, sauces, arancini, veggies--paired together perfectly in each bite, which is the mark of a good Italian meal. I ordered 3 appetizers for my meal. My friend ordered two entrees. The server had all my orders come out first and waited 40 minutes to put my buddy's meal in. It took so long he wanted to cancel his meal after watching me finish all my food. When the manager was made aware he didn't come to the table and explain anything didn't bring the check like we asked. Avoided the issue passively and sent a lower level manager to explain the "process" where they send out appetizers before putting the meal in the queue. The server knew what I ordered was my meal and what my buddy ordered was his. No attempt to fix any of the problems from anyone--server, mangers, not a soul. We came here for brunch after our wedding and the food was delicious!! The restaurant felt like it was in Florida since it's on the water. I've eaten a lot of octopus at different restaurants and this was by far the best octopus I've ever had. I wouldn't ordinarily review a place I've only visited once. But something about our experience last night stuck with me. Two words: Roast Chicken. Many many years ago when I cooked for a living we would test prospective cooks with three tasks: 1. finely chop an onion, 2. roll a French omelette, and 3. roast a chicken. if you couldn't do all three up to par, well, Beefsteak Charlie's was always looking for line cooks. The ubiquitous rotisserie chickens in New York are fine, but they're not a roast chicken, a Jonathan Waxman-type roast chicken. To achieve that perfectly crispy skin, full of flavor, without drying out the bird, is an art. Whoever is roasting the chickens at Adrienne's is an artist. It takes courage to put roast chicken on your menu when you only have five entrées. In fact, that's why I ordered it. Something told me that whoever created the menu had to know how it's done. They do. The dressed oysters were an excellent starter, a really complete bite. My girlfriend had the chopped salad and buccatini limone, which were both quite good. And she loved the pistachio tiramisu. I'm certainly going to be back to try the rest of the menu, but I have to say that last night was a very good start. read more

I'm absolutely obsessed with Adrienne's in Broad Channel, NY! They're a contemporary "Italian-ish" restaurant located in Broad Channel, Queens. The owners of this restaurant; Frankie, Leo and Keegan, can't do enough for you! They truly make you feel right at home. These three cousins opened this restaurant to honor their aunt Adrienne Guttieria, there is a plaque in the resturant that has a quote about the foundation of the restaurant; "it's a testament to the vibrant community she nurtured with unwavering loyalty and a fiery passion for every soul that crossed her path." Loved this quote and you truly feel this dining at Adrienne's! The food at this restaurant is extremely delicious and always keeps me coming back for more despite having a full stomach! In the summer the resturant has a pontoon boat that can take you from Broad Channel to Rockaway which is so nice! We came here for a friend's birthday with a larger group and we were seated in their new outdoor patio around sunset with gorgeous views right on the water. Came here for the first time and was wowed by the excellent customer service and ambiance. Our waitress although I forget her name ensured our party of four had a fabulous night. She was speedy in making sure our glasses were never empty and was on top of food recommendations. She recommended we try the burrata and boy she did not miss. And you can tell just how fresh the orders and clams were by the taste! We really picked out excellent appetizers and I'm sure every other app is fabulous. I had a steak dish which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was served with potatoes that were delicious and paired so nicely with the steak. The chef really got the cook on the meat so perfect. The pasta and clam dish was perfectly buttery and really drove the entire meal home. We were so happy with what we got! As we were eating, the owner, Leo, introduced himself to us and we got to hear how he built up such a beautiful restaurant with a great story behind it. Shout out to Leo, you provided such a great atmosphere for your guests and employees! There was live music all night, the water was perfect and we had such great weather for a great dinner. We finished with the cheesecake and tiramisu- neither disappointed and helped us end such a perfect night. The calamari was perfectly crunchy with the right amount of breading. It was a very good portion. Unlike most other calamari dishes I've had, we found this one to be very light which is perfect for an appetizer. We also liked the mix of two sauces that came with it. Additionally, the complementary in-house bread's sauce was tasty! It wasn't just any other typical butter to go with it. As for entrees, we got the rigatoni bolognese, special of the day (which was a fish), and another special of the day (which was a pasta). Everything was delicious. Hands down, this is the best bolognese I've ever had. The pasta was so fresh, and when you bite into it the sauce and meat is so flavorful. The ricotta cheese was like the cherry on top! The dish is fairly heavy, and it is likely you can share it with somebody. The bolognese is an absolute MUST. You will not be disappointed. The fish was perfectly cooked and so tender and soft. It was delectable and sublime. The other pasta dish also tasted fresh and the sauce was very rich. Overall, we had a great time here and will definitely come back.
