Try to stop here on the way home from camping and love coming here. They changed the layout around a bit from the last time I was here, but love how clean the bathrooms are. They are well stocked, and there are plenty of stalls. I feel like there soda machine is way out of the way now but maybe it's better that way for them, took me awhile to figure out where it was. Made a pitstop here in the middle of our roadtrip back home. It's pretty busy finding parking, we just got lucky with one. It's a very nice gas station. They also have a subway and a Cinnabon. This is definitely not my first choice to make a pit stop. Unfortunately, we had to for my granddaughter. This is a very small location compared to others. The line for the women's bathroom went down the food isle. Of course, men can just walk in theirs. We finally got to the second in line, and the women in front of me fell and landed on her face. I was tending to her while someone went for help. It was extremely hot outside, and not much relief in the store. Hoping she is doing better. This was not a bathroom ( not that any are ) you want to face-plant in. Absolutely disgusting bathroom. The large stall had toilet paper all over the floor, and it looked like someone couldn't make it in time. Just everything was gross. First time taking this route from Bakersfield back to Coachella Valley. It's right off the old 58. It looked a bit small from the outside, but it's actually quite a decent size with many options. They have a Cinnabon and a subway inside along with all the travel center goodies. Unfortunately for me, among all the coffee options, I found no decaf! :( I can't have caffeine due to a heart condition, but I'll drink decaf for the tiniest boost I can get away with. Such a bummer. But still, a good stop with clean restrooms and lots of snack/food/drink options. Oh and they have a pretty decent amount of keepsakes and on the road needs. Have I stopped here before? Yes. Will I stop here again? Probably. Currently it is under construction- but don't worry, it's still open! But wasn't open was the Subway inside, that was a bummer. Drink selection was limited. Cinnabon was still open- that was good! Limited sales, paid full price 3.49 (plus tax/fees) for Monsters- ew! It was super busy- limited parking in front. I asked for more onions three times and each time he added about two pieces like we were in the middle of an onion shortage. Been passing through Boron for as long as I can remember growing up in the high desert of California and this Pilot Travel Center is super reliable. They have great gas pumps with plenty of room for vehicles, friendly service, clean bathrooms and floors. Always stocked up in everyway and even the Subway here is solid. Good for quick grab and go snacks, drinks/fuel including convenience coffee and a novelty item or two. Grab some chips, fresh shades a beanie and those lotto tickets. Pretty place to stop for a quick break as well whether heading toward Bakersfield, Victorville, Helendale, Adelanto, Barstow, Ridgecrest and other city destinations in which every direction the road takes you. Impeccably clean, updated, offered every possible way to drink your coffee, cold brew, iced frozen, hot fresh ground coffee beans, and fresh drip coffee. Pizza, chicken tenders, hot dogs, nachos, a Cinnabon and Subway sandwich in house also. Complete with showers, clean bathrooms and California Souvenirs. Stopped at this location to use the restroom with my 2 daughters (3 and 5yo with autism). We went in a stall together and I hear someone talking about how long we were taking then proceeded to knock on the door multiple times. My two kids had to go #2 so we're trying to hurry. I opened up the door and was shocked to see it was a WORKER ! She told us we were taking too long and she's been waiting to restock the toilet paper for 10 min. She was Very rude and giving us attitude even when I explained I was with 2 small children who were using the restroom. Never in my life have I experienced such rude and unprofessional behaviors especially in a RESTROOM! Some times you have to take your time line or no line it's not the person using the restrooms fault! She continued to give me unprofessional and rude attitude when I approached her to let her know how rude and inappropriate it was! Never stopping here again! read more

In comparison to other Pilot and Flying Js, it is much smaller than the average. However, it's convenient for those with RVs. Also, I didn't find it overly busy as other locations. Did not see any dedicated RV gas lanes, but did not have any issues using what was available. read more

Pilot center is a convenient gas station right at the Kramer Juntion with lots of goodies and snacks, a Subway shop on premises and good customer service. Make your own coffee to your choice and take your time, pick your snacks, use the clean bathrooms and let the pets stretch your legs on the grassy areas. After the road trip we needed to clean the windshield and this place is stocked with cleaning soap, squeegee and paper towels to continue your trip with a shiny clean windshield. Obviously the gas prices are high here for the convenience, the distance to the next fuel station is about 30 miles South or East to get lower gas prices, but I don't recommend it, don't want anybody stranded on the desert with out fuel. Also on some months, the wind is blowing non stop in this area and it gets cold. read more

While a convenient stop, I'd go elsewhere. I've been to plenty of Pilot stops on the road and this one seemed small and inadequate. The pumps were not working properly and wouldn't take any of my cards so we were unable to fill up with gas. I went inside to use the restroom and the men's restroom is small and they tried to cram extra urinals in the 90° corners with walls between the urinals that are shoulder height. So there is no way to get close enough to do your business without making a mess on the floor- because your shoulders hit the walls on both side. Going at a rather busy time, I had men next to me who's shoulders were touching me and because of my angled choice... I got "splatter" from someone else next to me on my foot. Gross! After that I couldn't care less to shop around. There's definitely some things here that could be maintained better or thought through better. read more

I consider this an outstanding pit stop on US58 between Bakersfield and Barstow. The fuel is cheap--up to $0.30-$0.40 less than the other gas stations in Boron. The facilities are kept clean despite high customer volume, and the staff helpful and cheerful. My one complaint is that the increased traffic seems to have overwhelmed this station--traffic backs up at each red light past the entry and exit points making it difficult to turn into the station or leave. Parking is also often challenging. Solve this, and business will increase dramatically! read more

Four stars here because of the convenient location and decent gas prices. Also, if you need something on the road, chances are a Pilot Center has it. That elusive fifth star is missing because getting in and out of the gas lanes is a real challenge. As busy as this station is, the lot is woefully small. Getting back onto the 395 requires careful timing as you enter the southbound lanes. Clean restrooms and friendly staff complete the 4 star review here. read more

I like to know before I pull off the highway into a roadside stop that I will feel safe and the place will have clean bathrooms. Located where 58 meets 395, I feel fine stopping here and the counter help is always friendly. They have all kinds of snack items including a hot dog station and cinnabon. There are a lot of places you can stop along the 395, but this is one of our favorite places to stop. Gas, clean bathroom (shower if you need!), Subway and of course, Cinnabon. Every time we stop we get a little four pack of the mini rolls LOL They always smell so good! The Subway often has boxes of a dozen cookies for $5 too! Only complaint is the Subway tends to have flies and the tables tend to be dirty. But I come packing wipes so I just clean it myself. Other than that, we receive great service here and it has just about every random item you might need on a long drive! Plus the gas price isn't horrendous. Definitely recommend this stop. read more

This is a great place to stop if you need gas, or just anything. I mean anything. This is a truck stop, which means that it is a small little shopping universe. You never know what you will need when you live in a tiny little apartment on wheels. Subway, Cinnabon (hot or boxed), tire gauges, funky souvenirs, books, and those enormous trucker soda jugs. Tons of other things that you didn't know you needed. Huge bathrooms, but also sometimes a line waiting. We were there at night on our way back from Tahoe, and night is always the busiest time at the truck stop (because the truckers are there for the night, duh). It is ALWAYS packed with people, due to its location, you are bound to bump into an avid Yelper, IG Celeb or even a Hollywood Star. Price: Gas prices here are always standard or low compared to their counterparts 15/20 miles away. As far as food and other extra nitnaks that might capture your attention are fairly priced. Ive yet to see a ridiculously priced item here. Customer Service: AMAZING, some how they all stay neutral or very friendly... Even though I am sure they run into the casual idiot and crazy that decides to stop here. Restrooms: Squeaky clean. Always fully stocked... They even have a child bound chair for women with children who need to put the baby somewhere meanwhile they do their toilet business... Pilot store #200 in Boron, California! This place is great. I've been through here several times and it's always been good. They have a bunch of cool merchandise from clothes to cheap movies, things for your car, a subway attached, a lot of different foods and too many drinks, as well as some arcade games in the back! All the employees work really hard and are incredibly nice considering they probably have to deal with irate travel and trucking customers all day long. The bathrooms are pretty much always clean, they're scheduled to be cleaned every 30 minutes and if it gets bad before that time, they'll come in and get it done.
