Decent road trip stop, right off the Interstate with fresh hot coffee and clean restrooms by main criteria. Reasonable gas prices better than closer in to Chicago, and the prices won't get much cheaper heading downstate for a while. Denny's if you want and minimal wait at the registers, some corny typical Illinois souvenirs and they still sell maps.

Hard, old breakfast sandwich at 8AM? When did you make this, 5?

Typical Pilot, but I have some qualms, hence the reason for me writing this review. Well first off, the good. The showers were nice and hot with pretty decent pressure. The coffee/roller grill area was clean and well stocked, and they were making fresh coffee at 8:30PM. It's rare to encounter a Pilot that actually realizes professional drivers don't always just run from sun up to sundown. Now for the bad. The shower rooms are pretty tiny. Granted not the smallest I've seen, but still a tight squeeze. I do shower with my husband to save on credits, but even single drivers want something bigger than a closet. Another sucky thing is that they don't have the courtesy Wi-Fi inside the store. I'm sure Denny's has free Wi-Fi, but I'm not going to just sit in Denny's to steal it. I'd feel obligated to buy food or a drink and I'm on a budget. And speaking of food, my husband got a pre-made breakfast sandwich this morning at 8AM. We have no idea how long it had been under the heat lamp, but the meat on it was turning colors and the bread was hard as a rock. I will post a picture. Last, but not least, the ugly. I'll start out by saying our shower was pretty clean. However, when we were done showering, we heard a guy out in the hallway asking the guy cleaning the showers what they use to clean them. The reason is because the guy said his shower was covered in hair and there was urine all over the toilet. Some of these professional drivers are just lazy and gross. How hard is it to clean up after yourself? I have long hair and I shed a lot, but I always get rid of the hair because it's common courtesy. Anywho, this isn't the worst Pilot in the world. We pretty much came here for the free shower or else we would have went to one of the other ones. I'd rather have the service and uniqueness of a mom and pop place, but a free shower is a free shower.

Good place for a quick stop to fill up either in gas or food. Right off of 65. Plenty of parking & lots of room for semis.

This place is right off the exit, so you barely have to convince your GPS to cooperate. The area is spotless, and the inside is a delightful surprise. Not only do they keep things sparkling, but they also have a cheese selection from the farm next door and an ice cream counter with farm-fresh scoops because who doesn't want to fill up on gas AND happiness? You'll also find sandwiches, a microwave for your culinary experiments, and all sorts of trinkets and classic gas station oddities. The staff? Friendly. I'll definitely make this a pit stop anytime I'm cruising up or down 65 North or South, this BP's got your back!

They sell all sorts of dairy-related products here, like ice cream (scoops in a cup or cone, as well as sundaes, floats, shakes and malts), cheese and milk. You'll also find local honey, baked goods, jams, Indiana wine, gifts and lots more. This convenience store is cozy and homey. There is a table with a couple of chairs near the ice cream counter, in case you want to eat your ice cream in the store. Otherwise, this is a grab-and-go kind of joint. Outside of the store is a free dog park that's also a part of Fair Oaks Farm. It's a good place to let your doggie run after a road trip while you enjoy your ice cream and snacks after you've filled up your fuel tank.
