What a great travel center! They even have a cafeteria style option with excellent pot roast. Never expected to find such good food at a travel stop. The Cinnabon tends to run out of Pretzel Dogs early and not refill them. Bummer. read more

This Pilot isn't too far off of the freeway and it's much cheaper than the other travel gas station before this one comes up. We mistakenly found this one because the previous travel gas station was super busy and we didn't want to block traffic. Being almost on empty, this gas station was awesome! It was about 10 cents cheaper than the other station (I believe it was $2.97 on Memorial Day weekend which is not bad at all considering the shortage right now). Inside, it seemed pretty well stocked and clean. We didn't go too far in because I was trying to convince my fiancé that there was only a Subway here and Burger King was down the road. So as a traveler, this Pilot was great. However, I can't speak for the truck drivers. read more

Woah, such a huge cluster to get in and out of due to trucker congestion. They definitely need to think of a better way to manage the traffic coming off the highway. Maybe the shoulder should turn into a trucker only land instead so the rest of traffic isn't held up. $3.55 for gas !!!!!!!! Yowzah. If you're heading back to CT on 84 from Massachusetts, this is exit 1- the last MA exit before you cross over. Its like 45 cents cheaper than what I pay at home. Being on the state line, a lot of westbound motorists stop here to fill up, and yes, it can get quite crowded and confusing here as drivers make all sorts of calculated maneuvers to find the pump with a 30-second shorter wait. If I could give this place a -5 stars I would because it is the dirtiest Pilot I've ever had the displeasure of coming to. Dirty floors, dirty rags under drink machine, broken plastic lids, and trash everywhere! OMG! The ladies restroom toilet (only had one) was exploded with paper and poop everywhere! Toilet and on the floor! I nearly vomited! Sooooo GROSS!!! Ewe! The cashier was nice when I informed her. Other than that, I would never eat here or drink anything from the soda station. This is a very nice pilot near the Massachusetts-Connecticut state line. My husband and I stopped here to park for the night. There are not many truck stops here in the northern states so when we saw this we immediately pulled over. It turned out to be very nice and up to date looking on the outside. The inside is pretty decent. There is a laundry facility on site and the showers are awesome. Very roomy and it had two shower heads (one on each wall) so my husband and I were able to shower together which was really awesome. The only thing I didn't like about this spot was that most of the parking spots are reserves and it's not a very big parking lot so it fills up pretty quick but other than that, it's a good truck stop. read more

Went on 9/3/23. After a day of working in the yard, went & picked up 3 subs. We had a black girl named Sam. What a rotten, rude, nasty disposition on her! It was clear that she hated her job, along with her customers. She was sarcastic with the 2 families in front of us, and then with us. I ordered a chicken parm sub, only to get cold bread with barely any chicken, slapped with cold cheese and way-too-much cold marinara sauce. Had she been nice & respectful, this review wouldn't have been written. But wow, bad food aside, this kid needs a lesson on how to treat the public. read more

Small gas station that is on the interstate, a popular stop for those that want to fill up before traveling through CT that is pretty expensive. Beware though as some people I've observed are pretty nasty when it comes to their place in line, all over filling up their tanks first. Easy on and off from the interstate with a Day Inn next to it if you need to stay the night. read more

Found this place on GasBuddy. The owner updates the prices daily so no pricing surprises when you arrive at the pump. Located off Massachusetts exit 1 on I84. So the last/first Massachusetts exit. The place is busy since the gas taxes are so much higher in Connecticut. But the lines are orderly and tend to move quickly. read more

A convenient place to stop for gas, snacks, & use the facilities between Boston and Hartford, located off I-84 Exit 1 in Sturbridge, MA. During busy travel times, there may be lines of vehicles waiting at the gas pumps since the gas prices here are pretty reasonable for MA standards and generally cheaper than the gas prices in CT. Pay at the pump with credit/debit card for convenience. They also have a separate diesel fueling area for the big rigs. During my long road trips, I usually stop at Pilot and fill up my tank here before heading into CT, which gives me enough gas to make it to NJ for my next gas stop. When you open the door to go inside the convenience store, the musical chime is very loud (open/close the door). I can imagine this chime could drive the employees here batty from hearing it all the time. As others have mentioned, it could get crowded here and some drivers get confused and jockey their vehicles at the pumps in the reverse flow to only save a few seconds/minutes trying to fuel up. To make things simplified due to the tight spacing of the pumps, I only wish that vehicles entering the fueling area travel in a one way flow and should line up their vehicle according to which side their gas door is on. read more

It's good place for gas and quick drinks but if you need help with getting food from behind the counter or need something behind the glass they won't help you because I asked for help they said they will help me then I waited about 30mins then they went somewhere just ignored me when I was really polite to them. This place was a great gas stop on our road trip. Ample truck parking for semi trucks and people towing things that make it harder to get into gas stations. The truck stop fuel station was really cool! It was decked out with so many accessories and truck parts. A big variety of hot foods and also fresh fruits and salads. They had a nice woman's bathroom and showers for the truckers. I can't say what the gas side looked like but the truck side was pretty awesome! read more

I always stop here on the way to and from Boston, and good god are the lines always long. This time around, I only waited 3-4 minutes for a pump each time, but still, it's gasoline... not exactly the kind of thing you expect yourself to ever have to wait for. But yeah, it's super cheap. Today's example: Gas right now is $3.95-$4.00 for regular around where I live in Central Connecticut, and today's price at Pilot was $3.67. Indeed, a 25 to 30 cent discount from usual Central CT prices is quite typical. So stop in some time. Then drive down the street and pick up some Roy Rogers :). read more

A frequent stop to and from Boston, this Travel Center in Sturbridge usually has "good" gas prices, comparatively speaking. A favorite among big-rig and RV drivers, some of the amenities of this particular stop are 2 ATMs, check cashing, money orders, breakfast/soup bar, deli, pizza, showers, Western Union, free wi-fi and cheaper-than-CT gas! :) FYI: if you sign up for the pilot rewards card, buy a refillable coffee cup = 1.99, refills 1.19. Easy on and off the highway. Very reasonable gas prices. Store is clean with a good selection and the merchandise is not overpriced. I did need to use the bathroom the line was really long I stood in it for maybe 3 minutes before giving up, I wasn't even close enough to see if there is maybe just one bathroom which was why the line was so long. The cashier was knowledgeable about the store items pointing out any sale items we had that we had not taken advantage of the "2 for" as she rang us up so we could grab another if we wanted. So I'm a truck driver, right... nearly all their parking spots are reserved. We have no issues paying that but the 20 non reserved is a PROBLEM. You have 2 parking lots, one for SEMIS and one for regular parking.. PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU ALL ALLOW BOX TRUCKS, 23 footer in the SEMI PARKING?! I call and ask to speak to the manager... guess his name is Mike or something similar. He tells me I need to call corporate... I ask for the number, he tells me I have to be placed on hold because there are 12 ppl in front of me... in line or on the phone? That's half of your parking lot. You mean to tell me half of your parking lot is infront of you? Also how are there 10 plus ppl online waiting for a shower when your parking lot has only 20 parking spaces (an exaggeration) I recommend to make all your parking spaces RESERVED! JUST GOOD FOR GAS, The main building is all boarded up, lots of diesel truckers pulled in for fuel and take a break. The gas pumps are on other end of lot, only a couple pumps. Yes its cheaper but I'd stop at the Service Plaza at Charlton instead. Its a full service with multi bathrooms, and food eateries. This Pilot is terrible!!! one bathroom for Ladies and men, thats it! The milk had gone sour for the coffee. The staff could give more effort at trying to be helpful to travelers. LIke I said try Charlton or the TA Service Plaza in Southington CT for decent bathrooms, food, etc. much better. read more

I hit this gas station & mini-mart for fuel/snacks/soda/coffee/tea/restrooms every time I come up or down 84. It's about a minute away from exit 1, clean, staffed by friendly people, I've never seen it closed, and best of all, the gas is consistently some of the cheapest I can find anywhere on this route from Boston to Hartford. It's also a great place for a snooze, since a large brook/small river runs behind it. Very soothing. A welcome little zen retreat in the middle of a road trip. read more

Consistently the cheapest gas in the STURBRIDGE area (if using a credit card). The only down side is there is usually a line to gas up during day time hours. We actually stumbled upon this stop while traveling home with the used motorhome we purchased in W. Boylston. Needed to fuel up, but did not investigate any other amenities offered here. We unfortunately learned there was a rather large puncture in our gas tank! The staff response to our shocking discovery was prompt & extended beyond necessary assistance to our needs. I cannot say that I caught that employee's name, but he was a tremendous help ( we compensated him ) and as this route will bring us to NHMS for future events it will be a stop for us.
