Do not go here. I went for the nursing program. All they care about is money and drama. I am a veteran that was using my GI bill and FASFA. EVERYTHING WAS PAID FOR. Unfortunately I am also a disabled veteran that struggles with my mental health and had to leave to work on myself in my fourth semester. THEY ENDED UP CHARGING ME A $4000 bill (which again everything was paid for) with no explanation on what it was actually for. I ended up having to pay the VA because I dropped out my 4th semester which is understandable but PMI had no reason besides they're money hungry. DO NOT GO HERE. When I attended Pima Medical Institute, the nursing program felt disorganized and poorly managed. In the first half of my course, I had Dr. Bradley, who was serious, professional, and consistent in her expectations. Her approach stood out and made learning structured and clear. In the second half, program leadership under Ms. Robertson was honesty terrible, I don't think she should be a director of any program. I only met her once, and there was little sense that she was aware of or engaged with student concerns. This lack of visibility and oversight contributed to inconsistent accountability, unresolved issues. Throughout the program, it seemed that students who raised genuine concerns or told the truth were often criticized or penalized, while those who were the loudest with their friends in their complaints seemed to get their way. Leadership and campus directors appeared more focused on protecting the institution's image than supporting students or ensuring fairness. Complaints and disputes were not always handled, kind of just "sweep it under the rug". There were, however, instructors who were really committed to student learning. Dr. Kirby, Dr. De Leon, and Mrs. Gearon were among the more effective instructors in the nursing program. and the clinical instructors--Mrs. Washington, Mr. Cluff, and Mrs. Schaefer--were supportive and invested in student education. I ultimately completed my RN, but considering the cost and the challenges, I would have preferred attending a university or community college. The program is not nationally recognized, which makes transferring credits or continuing education very difficult, something that is not clearly communicated to prospective students. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this college. Prospective students should carefully evaluate leadership involvement, how complaints are handled, whether fairness and student support exist, and the recognition of the program before enrolling. read more

No, no, no. Stay away from here. Yes, Pima is accredited, so at first glance, it seems like a promising opportunity, especially for young people who have just graduated high school or for people looking to make a career change and who want to break into the medical field, dental field, etc. But the cost at Pima is insanely expensive, and the classes are accelerated, so if a life event occurs that causes you to have to discontinue your schooling, then you've wasted a ton of time and money, and you might have a ton of student loan debt that you'll still have to pay back. If you live in Arizona, it would make more sense for you to explore your local community college and see what medical and dental programs they offer. Going to a community college is a lot cheaper, and a degree from your community college looks better on a resume, than one from Pima. read more

The nursing director (Bradley) for this campus is horrible. School makes it very clear they are only concerned for making profit. The nursing program is pretty much self taught because the instructors have no idea what they are doing. Attendance is mandatory just so you can come read silently. All my nursing instructors are a bunch of burnt out, lazy, and petty "nurses" who can't keep up with demand it takes to work bedside. Don't be fooled by that little selling speech they give of supporting student or teaching style. Worst decision I have ever made. read more

I attended the radiography program here and the staff is amazing. They gave me the proper training to pass my boards and become licensed.

I attended PIMA in 1999 and have gained such knowledge in my career. Instructors left such a positive impact that 22 years later I have returned to PIMA as an instructor to give future students the edge I gained and knowledge. read more

Awful school. Very gang like staff and they eat their young. Pay attention to the low overall ratings and do your research before you give away such high dollars to such a terrible school. This school is a private school and the fees are higher than many other schools in the valley. I highly recommend documenting everything that happens negatively here with dates and exact time and do not sign any paperwork that they force on you to try and kick students out. read more

I enrolled in June of 2020. Everything was going great, until I decided to withdraw because I was mentally unstable at the time. After withdrawing, I was told I owed over $8000 in tuition. That is half the tuition in the program and they just want all the money. I have been in post secondary education before and withdrew with no financial repercussions. They just want ALL of the money. read more

My admission director was Mr. Brian Cline and I can't praise him enough!! Extremely knowledgeable, professional and KIND!! Response time with communication and questions was impeccable. Doris Minx and Elvia Cagle have also been exceptional. Furthermore, I know many professionals that have graduated from this institution and I promise that if you put the work in they will offer ALL the tools you'll need to flourish. I am a current student in the PTA program. The campus is great. The financial aid department will help you set everything up. It's really a great school and the instructors are amazing, great with communication, as well as tutoring or anything else you need help with. The only con is the price. School is not cheap but that's everywhere. I highly recommend PIMA for any one who is serious about furthering their education. read more

I enrolled in the Respiratory therapy program although it is expensive I'm glad I choose it because it goes by so fast. Mrs.April is a really good instructor who cares and listens to her students. You will drive 1 to an 1 1/2 hours one way for your externship. It gets worse. Mike waits until the last minute to assign and advise you of to where you will go. He cares nothing of the financial hardship of driving so far with the gas prices the way that they are. He takes no consideration into where a person lives and where the externship is located. My daughter signed up for vet program and everything was going ok, and her older brother, 23 died suddenly , it took a bit to really hit her . This review comes from a working mother who attended three separate programs at Pima, both in person and online. You are not a 'person' to this institution. You are a paycheck. They will take out so many student loans 'on your behalf' and never bother to assist you in filing for any grants ( payments made to the school you DON"T have to pay back) I graduated almost 4 and a half years ago with my so called Bachelor's degree from them promising me I would be able to get a manager's position or better. All these years later, I am over 57K in student debt, with NO assistance from Pima as to why they took out 16 different student loans and I have had to work for a 501(3)c now for ten years hoping I will get student loan forgiveness. You can forget about assistance from the career office who are just paper pushers that don't follow up, ever. At least at the Mesa campus, I never received any sort of counseling with them and when I scheduled a meeting to speak with them about finding a position 5 months after graduating, I showed up and the career counselor wasn't 'in the office'. I cannot stress this enough, do not go here, at least if you are in the Mesa area. There is a school right down the street, called Mesa Community College. Every program PMI has, MCC has for a fraction of the cost. read more

I went to this "school" in 2007-2008 and I knew more than the teacher. This place is a RIPOFF. Super expensive and it's not worth the time or money. To teach at this place, all you need is a certificate and one year of experience. I took the Medical Assisting course... At every step, there was drama. First of all, the students - GHETTO!!!!! The fist teacher took points off of my grade for my monroe piercing but didn't take points off of another girl who had a nose ring. WTF??? And when I asked about it, the teacher said it was none of my business. My second teacher (front office) had no control over the class, couldn't answer basic questions and who knows when her last "hands-on" training was. She's old and her experience seems out dated. The third teacher (back office) REALLY had no f-ing clue what was going on... she was more caught up in the drama between the girls in the class than teaching. She bruised more than one student while teaching blood draws/ injections. This school is unfair, disorganized and a complete waste of time. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. read more

This is the second college I have been to since I graduated. I love it so much. There is not a day when I say to my self "ugh I have school today" like I did when I was in community college. The atmosphere is very professional and well put together. I love all my teachers I've had. I wouldn't be where I am today without them. I tell everyone and anyone to go to this school. I am halfway through my schooling at Pima. Our class grew a lot and that causes for some drama (which is pretty typical when you get a bunch of women anywhere). Our Lead instructor is very knowledgeable and patient. She makes it easy to come to her with issues. She really has a nack for teaching. We have another new teacher as well. She seems very knowledgeable and passionate about what she is teaching us. We are getting frustrated as she over teaches us and is a very direct (to some it may seem rude). She possesses a wealth of knowledge. We also acquired two new teachers aides. They are close to our age range and they are very helpful. They are patient and understand that we are new to learning. They are very calm and even keeled, which helps a lot when students are stressed out. Why I did not give more stars? For me, personally, I don't like that not everyone starts in sequence 1. Our class was lucky that we did. However, not knowing everything and having to start in Sequence 2 or 3 is very difficult. I also was hoping that each time a new group of classmates joins us...that they would teach infection control right away. Overall, if you chose Pima Medical Institute, you will get a great education with instructors who love to teach. You will have the ability to obtain a great career and further your goals in life. read more

You others are ridiculous! Private schools like this are very very competitive to get into. If you're going to the MA, CNA or other "certificate" based classes then yes, maybe it is expensive. He has walked me through the applying the process and the front office staff has been nothing but nice! I am so happy to be apart of a great school. Before being accepted, I had to take 2 tests to even see if I was capable of school. The first test was the Wonderlic (HARD) and the 2nd was a 5th grade math test! So you think those are for just any one? TAKE THEM and let me know! The wonderlic test took me two times to pass it! They DO NOT just take anyone off the streets, maybe for the lower end programs! If I could give zero stars, I would. Worst college experience of my entire life. They have constantly tried to hold me back, make me fail, knock me down. All of it. 37k to attend school here and all they care about is the money. They do not legitimately care about the students, they don't care about their success, they want money and good numbers. I worked my ass off and missed out on a lot of memories with my kid for this program and I won't even be attending the graduation. That is extremely sad. I went to this school in 1992 and it was wonderful loving caring staff office people teachers etc... NOW however they are very unprofessional they are very rude at the Mesa campus on Dobson in Mesa AZ I went to ask for a copy of my certificate which is free BUT the office lady was not wanting to get up off her chair to go downstairs to the basement to get it so I talked to the lady in the back AGAIN and she told her she'd put someone in front to relieve her of sitting so she could go downstairs she finally comes up to tell me everything's in my file EXCEPT my certificate . So I would have to pay for one BUT THEY LOST IT I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake and I told them I am a mother of 5 I've raised all my children and need a job now and they still would not release my certificate they can easily make a new one for their files and print me one INSTEAD OF HAVING GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SAYING SORRY will make you a new one for your file and a copy they just rudely told me I need the money Don't waste your time or money on a school who cannot back you up when u need them , they WONT be there for you . I will let someone higher up know about this for sure Oh I called the Pima office on baseline also and told them about my situation and they transferred me to these SAME PEOPLE After I told them how they treated me HORRIBLY NO DIGNITY OR RESPECT I expect more from a school who told me I could go back for a refresher course for free SURE !they cannot even give me a copy of what I need to get a job in phlebotomy to support my family .I have never seen women with such poor manners . read more

This is my daughters 3 week of school and I can tell you my heart is breaking, I had here move to Arizona to have a better start in life, she's 20 years old and after meeting with Amanda about 3 times she made us believe they are a family owned company for the students. She explained my daughter would attend 6 weeks of back to school curriculum to jump start the brain, when she named all classes math was the one we told her my daughter struggled with. Not to worry she said we have tutors we have people here who care about making sure you get the help needed to pass. LOL yeah rt! No help, and if you tell the teacher you don't understand they change the subject and literally tell you there is a quiz tomorrow and on to the next exercise. My daughter is passing everything but math, she was at a 77% before the final and made him aware as well as thee advisor she hasn't learned these assignments or been taught more than a half a day, she said if you fail you just will have to retake the class. She took the test today and now her score for math is a 72% and you need a 76% to pass. So she has to be out of school for 3 weeks then wait into the November coarse starts to go back, but she is passing the others but can't continue into 3 more weeks and now she will be 8 weeks behind. Amanda never explained this and even said my daughter could use her calculator if needed because we explained she had an iep for math during school she continue to promote this is a supportive school. What's funny is they were so happy I was there and being supportive but won't respond to an email or phone call before she signed all paperwork the calls were regular the emails and Amanda would even text and respond right away. This is sad and I hope that God allows this school to be properly handled for their lies, misleading plots to get students and money. I pray that people will open there eyes and understand this program isn't as caring as they say they want the money and care not to see hear or think of you. Shame on this program you are destroying lives and self asteem. Please spread and share the word. read more

This is a horrible "school." I went to interview for a class, was told point blank they don't accept everyone for the program, only 28 out of 200 applicants make it into the class. Then they had the nerve to tell me I'd have to completely shave off my beard and hide my tattoo with a band aid because they don't consider either to be professional. The tour is a total joke, the admissions rep kept dropping how much all the equipment e.g. the mannequins for EMT class cost ($13,400). Seriously? Then how much a the new parking cost, and how they want new awnings but are so expensive. Needless to say I won't be going to Pima. read more

I recently had an appointment here for to inquire about the Phlebotomy program and to lear more about the school. I cannot remember the name of the person I met with but he seemed nice and pleasantly enthusiastic. He took me through everything I needed and even gave me information about the Medical Assistant program when after asking him about the availability of phlebotomy program AND him realizing they were booked through the end of the year. He took me around the building see the set up of the classes in progress. Everyone and everything was cool. I took the 12 min assessment they require and scored high. The next day I reviewed PIMA's website and saw they had phlebotomy classes at the Phx location. Called and was advised they had plenty availability. I was a little disappointed that the person I met with did not locate this information when he knew Phlebotomy ($4400 approx) was my reason for wanting to attend. I'm not sure if it slipped his mind or if it was about money. By the way... If you choose to go to night classes for Medical Assisting ($13500 approx) , it will take you apron 10 months to complete the course instead of the standard 9 due to the shortened class hours. I have chosen to go the Medical Assistant route because it includes EGK and phlebotomy training but.. I have not chosen this school for the following reasons: 1. It doesn't seem like I'd be able to get certification in phlebotomy (some program u can) 2. I don't believe I will be eligible to take the EKG certification test (some MA programs include both so that you can obtain certification in multiple areas. 3. The timeframe for completion. ( I work during the day so I will have to take evening classes which increases the program's length. read more

The advisers are great, however the teachers are terrible. Very disorganized, not helpful in the least bit as they do not know the material they are teaching well enough. They stress communication and how vital it is in the healthcare field, yet are terrible at communication themselves. I emailed a professor about a a question I had regarding a quiz on a Tuesday and she replied to me Thursday afternoon (after I had already taken the quiz) I strongly urge anyone considering this school to really think about how they will be spending thousands of dollars on subpar education. read more
