I went to Pima Medical inst 2017-2018 for there Medical Assistance program, now I wish that stayed because when I left to return to Florida I couldn't get no job, But my Teacher Ms Brittany she was a good teacher and I learned a lot from her and was the oldest student in her class but she never gave up on me, she encouraged me and kept my head in the game, Ms Brittany taught her students so much and took her teaching very serious with her student Ms Brittany was voted best Teacher of the year by her students and she deserved it, I am thinking about returning and doing another class. read more

Went to 2 different appointments with the "financial coordinator" his name is Brock Mathis and the whole time he was on his phone and just talking about how he just wanted to leave from work already. I feel so disappointed he didn't help in any way, you can clearly see he only goes to get his paycheck and that's it. He didn't even bother on explaining stuff to me or giving me any financial help at all he just made me sign a loan which had a really big rate. Ima end up paying more than twice of what the actual school costs with that. By the time I was leaving after signing the loan the only thing he mention was "if you can find any scholarships that's be great". As a parent paying for my daughter's education I can say this school has a very unprofessional and confusing application process. I am afraid for the course work after experiencing this. Nothing is online, academic admission advisors do not reply back often, and misinformation is given. We attended the information meeting in Jan. 2025 for a Sept 2026 start date. My daughter just turned 18 and is completing her BS in medical microbiology in May 2026. She completed all steps, application, essay stating education, experience, and open availability for the program, as well as ordered official transcripts. She needed a math test. She scheduled this, after trying to get scheduled for a few weeks. The advisor gave her the wrong location to take the exam. She and I both messaged the advisor to see where to go for the exam immediately. No response. No one at the front desk knew anything. It took a few weeks again to get scheduled, which was today 3/14/25. The issue, now the spots have filled for her start date. What??!! When were you all planning to tell us this? Then she said my daughter never sent the excel spreadsheet back with her availability. I said, it's open. She moved back home and will not be working. Per her essay. The advisor said her hands were tied and she has to do the excel spreadsheets. I asked where they are located. These aren't emailed until after the math test apparently. The math test we cannot seem to get scheduled. The advisor said that other applicants just know to send these. She sent the template, which my daughter wrote open availability on and sent back. Then she scheduled her for the math test today at noon. There is little to no reply until you are upset and the spots have filled. We tried reaching the director to be assigned a different advisor and see if she can be waitlisted. Currently considering other options after my daughter's BS as well. If you are serious about applying and looking for a personal connection and support, this is not the campus or school for you. read more

Mrs. Sullivan is the best teacher I have ever had and makes the experience one you will never forget. she keeps the classroom safe and fun and makes sure that everyone feels seen. she is always making sure we strive to be our best and fully prepared before we leave her classroom and go to our extern sites. I was very excited to start back in august. I started my externship in March, I got into a car accident on day 2 and then continued to have seizures throughout the month. Pima did not care decided to failed me. I told them I felt discriminated as a disabled person and they did not care. After that they tried to argue other reasons but I always had a valid reasoning along with proof to stand up for myself. Since they didn't have any other reasons to fail me, they terminated me. I still have no idea why I was failed but I will not be coming back. I'll be telling everyone I know not to go to pima and to leave a bad review. read more

Many one star reviews but not everyone has a bad experience here. My daughter enrolled in their Sterile Processing program after high school last year and has recently graduated the program. She really enjoyed it and was offered a job in the field. She is excited and ready to begin her career working in one of the major hospitals in the valley. She enjoyed all her teachers and classmates. We never had a negative encounter with any of the staff. From day one it was a positive experience. read more

I went in at the beginning of the year to talk about the DMS program, but they told me I'd be better off starting with the Phlebotomy program. Why would you think that?? You can get trained for free somewhere else. You also have to add up to some points to get accepted & you receive 2 points if you've graduated from Pima before. Clearly this school just wants your money because the financial aid is a joke. I'm currently enrolled into their Medical Assistant program to hopefully have a chance to get into their DMS program, but I doubt that will happen with how disregarding they are. I am currently in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program and I can confidently say this is the best experience with a school I've ever had. Our director is super funny and all of the instructors care about our success. I feel comfortable mentioning concerns to all faculty and know that they've got my back along the entire way as long as I'm trying my best. As a matter of fact, they even do a great job at making physics a tolerable course! This school shouldn't be allowed to operate. The programs here are very poor and the director who runs this school should be fired. You are promised a quality education and that is definitely not what you get at this school. I am a previous graduate from the Phoenix location and when i got a job in the field i was not prepared. The Vet program at Pima will not prepare you for the field. Stephanie the director is horrible and has no idea how to run the vet program. I had so many different teachers in the same set of classes. Teachers coming and going. Stephanie is known for offering the top students a job as a teacher once we get some experience in the field, probably because she can't hold on to a teacher. Certain classes weren't started on time because the teacher didn't feel comfortable in it. So that quality education you were promised goes right out the window except your student loan. The veterinarian on staff practices unsafe medicine who constantly has pets waking up hypothermic and is never concerned. She has also had many patients wake up on the table while on anesthesia even with a teacher vet tech right there assisting. Please improve this school -3/20/20 Kayala You mentioned that you would send this to the campus director. She's one of the biggest and major problems at that school. that woman should not be allowed to run to school. I was on my last 6 weeks of school and was excited about becoming Vet Assistant. I had a tragedy happen to me and had to leave school. They let me return to school a few months later but had me retake classes that I had already passed. I had a horrible teacher this next time around. I have a learning disability and she did not want to work with me. I complained about her but they made me stay in her class. She failed me after I had already passed the class before and now they booted me out of school. This is the absolute worst school. They don't care if you have a disability. They are all about the money and not caring about the student. I am not the only student they have done this to. I have now contacted their corporate office and I am looking into rights for people with learning disabilities. This school has been getting away with treating people like this for way to long. Why not help us pass rather than shoving us away because we didn't pass one lab!They want us to read the book without any lecture then take a test the next very day.Not very welcoming teachers that show they care. Wish i could give negative stars. First of all, no one employed knows what they're talking about they give you the run around and pass off duties to each other leaving students confused and lost. Most importantly, this place is a SCAM. You pay $15,000 for CERTIFICATE programs that don't actually get you certified in anything at all. It's basically a giant waste of time paying and learning courses that have nothing to do with your actual program. They harass you before you sign up to feed you with lies about how great the school is and the second you sign that contract that traps you, you're nothing but a dollar sign to them. I tried to enroll in Pima to go back to school to get an associates degree in Surgical Technology. I was basically told by The Director at this branch, I was told old to go back to school and would not be able to get a job, scrubbing. I tried to tell Rhianna, I did not want to go back to scrubbing, I was looking to go into the instructor side of Surgical Technology. I have been a surgical technologist for 23 years. I needed the associates degree to be able go into the instructor's side of the profession. She never bothered to read my file. Which, included my resume in my application, detailing my Surgical Technology career. Rhianna treated me like I was trying to get into a career I was too old to do. The rest of the staff was very professional and kind to me. I would not recommend this branch of Pima if you are an older non traditional student trying to further your career. They make you jump through a lot of hoops to get to the point in the placement to tell you are too old. read more

So heres the problem with PIMA. You have to take the Wonderlic. No big deal BUT the computer DOESNT show you your score AND the receptionist only verbally tells you your score, so you have no idea what your score really is. I had to take it 3 times. The receptionist didnt even give me a piece of paper showing me the answers. I shouldnt have to ask for the results. I made it to the interview process and the director was bad talking West Coast Ultrasound Institute, the instructors, and its students. Another red flag. The director also said that they "dont do anything shady here." Like why would you need to say that if youre really not. Ive been to a few other private college campuses and not one time did other places bash other schools. Im not mad that I didnt get in. I would never apply to this school again. When there are a few red flags that go up, Im out. There are plenty of schools in the valley to choose from! read more

Wanted to update! After completing my 240 hr externship in December, I am now working in the medical field and have literally doubled my income. I would never have had this kind of opportunity without the education I earned at PMI. I have so much more freedom, better hours, benefits, and and am happier than I have ever been. It's a lot of work to enroll and complete school, but Pima helped me every step of the way and I definitely recommend this school for anyone ready to do better in life! I have reenrolled in their online degree program, it's flexible schedule and credit transfer made it super easy to decide to keep going. Complete waste of time. To start off, I RARELY write reviews. But I am extremely disappointed & dissatisfied with this school. Before applying MANY people told me not that & that the enrolling process was terrible, but I did not listen. When you are looking at possibly enrolling they call you 24/7, once they have you in the process you hardly hear back from anyone. During my enrolling process you had to get a few things together and I did, I barely made the cut off but finally was able to schedule an interview. Took about a month to have the group interview but I waited and was excited! Did my research and was ready! The interview was held via zoom which I understand because of COVID. It was a group interview and just extremely discouraging. The way the director of the DNS program conducted the interview was very different. I understand you are trying to "hype" up your school but he basically discredited any other diagnostic Sonographers that never attended Pima. He asked each of us 3 interview questions and proceeded to say that the way they choose the students is through an excel spreadsheet so basically that interview felt like it was for nothing. Then at the end of the interview he asked one of the girls to stay back so he could chat with her. What it was about, who knows? But to me it felt like he was picking her to be in the program and it was extremely discouraging and rubbed me the wrong way. It took almost a month for them to get back to let me know I was not accepted into the program, which I figured, but the way they wrote the email did not seem professional and made no sense. Before anything they tell you they have 200 applicants and only choose 20 something, when in the interview the director said we were the last interviewees and they interviewed 150 students. In the non acceptance email they said they had a record high volume of applicants, so which was it? I am relieved that I did not get accepted and can not wait to find a place where they are more welcoming. read more

All the staff have welcomed me with open arms and are dedicated to helping a student succeed. The campus director Stacy Nottingham, has shown nothing but excellence and also brings a great energy to this campus, it makes it that much more exciting to come and learn. I didnt want to write this until I had my certification in hand as of rear they would hold it captive because that's how they are I graduated Pima in October and got my certificate a few weeks ago. Pima was the worst mistake in my life. They were horrible to me while I was there, I did the veterinary assistant program and once staff found out I wasnt going to do the tech program they treated me like crap. Once I started my externship I had no contact with the school, thankfully I was able to schedule my exit interview. When I was looking for a job I remembered that career services was supposed to help with that, well I had called multiple times just to be ignored. It took me calling someone way higher up for me to even get a call back. When I went in for said help all the "helped" with was creating a resume and then leaving back to the office while I sat on a computer applying online, while I was sitting there I heard one of the ladies bring up a students name which happened to be my bestfriends who was calling over and over to get help and THEY DELIBERATELY HUNG UP THE PHONE ON HER, then they proceeded to talk all sorts of crap about her. As with what I learned? Well it was PowerPoint after PowerPoint and rarely any hand on because the tech program always came first, when I got to my externship I was clueless but luckily my site trained me like I was tech coming in so I got a better experience there. When I had concern about one of the staff members I brought it up to the main director and she shrugged my worries to the side and said "Well I think you are just over worked and need a break." Like any college this is a business first, and they want your money. I didn't have any issues with the front end staff. They are all extremely friendly and make you feel welcomed. I paid for my class in full, so i didn't have to deal with the financial aid department, however Derek and Shane were always personable in passing. They were always willing to allow the students to practice on them during lab times. The instructors are passionate in their fields, and truly want you to succeed. I went through the phlebotomy program one year ago. My instructor was amazing. My class had 11 students.There was plenty of hands on time in the lab, and I felt well prepared for my externship. My externship start date was delayed three weeks when the first place flaked out, and the college had to find a new site for me. This delay extended my program completion date by three weeks. When it comes to externship sites, they say that they place you at facilities that will hire you afterwards. This was not the case with me. I had perfect attendance, I graduated with honors, and I received my national registry credentials. Searching for a job upon completion of the program was a joke. Everywhere that I applied to, wants either 1-2 years of verifiable employment or be a recent graduate of an accredited program. Even as an entry level position. I don't have the experience, but I just graduated from what I thought was an accredited program. So what, they still won't hire you. I went to Medix temp agency for medical staffing. I applied to LabCorp, Sonora Quest, hospitals and doctors offices. No luck. I went back to PMI and talked with career services to try to get some help. I was told that I need to put in 10-15 job applications per day. I'd be surprised if there were 15 job postings at all here. If I was able to put in 10-15 job applications per day, I obviously wouldn't need the help of career services. Then they had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to spend more time and money to go through their Medical Assistant program. I spent $4300 and ultimately 14 weeks in the program. If I havent been able to work in the field that I just finished schooling for, I sure as heck am not going to spend a lot more time and money on another program to potentially get the same result (see the first sentence of this review). We were told repeatedly that the jobs are there, and the people who are not working choose not to be working. I say that's BS. Out of my class, only 4-5 of us are working in the field. PMI boasts about their job placement rates, but I think that their numbers are overly inflated. My review is only of the Phoenix campus off of the Black Canyon freeway. PMI has campuses in several cities and states. I can't speak for any of the other campuses. This review is based on my experience only. Your experience and results may be different. Do your research, and good luck. UPDATE - It's been 15 months since I finished the program. I was never able to get a job in my field of study. I let my national credentials lapse, and I've moved on from perusing a career in the medical field. What a waste of money for me! read more

By far the worst college I have ever been to. I am currently attending the Phoenix campus and I absolutely hate it and wish I never wasted my money with this school. All they care about is taking your money and their are so many hidden fees. Don't get me wrong I love my teacher she is awesome however, the administration sucks and they all have such poor attitudes towards the students. They don't want to better us they want to tear us down every chance they get. Lets not even talk about the curriculum it is by far the WORST ever. They bull crap you saying you need to know this which we really don't they just want us to pay for more classes. The class sizes are ridiculous we have over 20 students with one teacher and only 6 clinic chairs so its hard to even try to get the one on one with the teacher. I would NEVER ever recommend this school to anybody. If I wasn't so close to graduation I would drop out of this school and get my money back. read more
