They do not allow public access to their outdoor track except on rare instance.. unless you are a private organizatio. Oh yeah, they may cancel that agreement on little or no notice. She walked with me through everything from how to search for classes and which classes are recommended. She shared her experience, her accomplishments, and her passion for helping people like me. PVCC has not honored its contractual obligations with a track team who leases the track and field every year for the past decade. This season, after being paid all the money in full, the school canceled the contract without warning or reason and still hasn't returned the team's money. read more

I am finishing several courses at PVCC and have mixed feelings. My online courses were very organized and the instructors did a great job. My in-person class was very different. From the outset, the instructor was ill-prepared. He admitted that he was using the lesson plan of another instructor and it was obvious that he had barely read it. He was ill-prepared to instruct the course material and would use most of the class to discuss issues that were not related to the course. This course would have been better if it had been self-paced without the inclusion of an instructor. If possible, I would think PVCC should refund me the cost of the class, since the teacher added absolutely nothing to the education process. read more

Great campus with student art in lobby of Center for Performing Arts. I come frequently to see their French film series with discussion afterwards by the professor who teaches the class. They are free of charge with comfy seats and AC in the auditorium. Phoenix Opera run by Gail Dubinbaum did a great job directing the show ' Love Always Lenny' Toby Yatso as usual was funny, sweet and awesome. The Bernstein and Gershwin songs were wonderful. PVCC not only has a beautiful campus, but also offers a wide variety of programs. Student life events are another great advantage of this college. PVCC actively offers opportunities for students to get involved, and provides support for students to succeed in their academic goals. I have been so impressed with the faculty and how attentive they are to students concerns and needs. I'm graduating from the nursing program this semester, and I am so thankful for the education and experiences I have been provided. The Nursing professors are outstanding! They are supportive, encouraging, uplifting, professional, and hold their students to a high level of learning and comprehension. This program has helped me become successful in my academic and career goals. I wouldn't trade my experience at PVCC for anything! read more

Disability programs exist to assist people with disabilities navigate through systems they would have a hard time accomplishing on a day to day basis. Simple right? Then why is it so hard to be approved for a disability. My spouse had all the proper forms filled out by her doctor and they still turned her down for disability. She's talked to them on the phone, filled out forms, hunted down doctors. All while having a disability. There are ethical reasons this program exists and this school gatekeeps it like it's giving people an unfair advantage somehow. It mainly exists for extra tools and excused absences. Writers of the ADA would be furious. They have no empathy over at this school, take your education to a place that wants to help all that seek betterment and education. read more

I do wish that I had kept in touch with some of the previous classmates of mine, but every rejection is God's protection as they say. One mark for the classes that I took, but didn't need, and another mark for the counseling office that doesn't work as expected, especially the disability programs there. read more

I love everything about this school and campus. As does my son who attends classes as well as high school At AAEC-PV. He loves it more than High School. He has 18 credits complete to date and is in the midst of taking 10 this semester. So exited to watch him excel and graduate college before High School! read more

Great option to get classes out of the way. But be prepared to pay for a class and right before it starts it be cancelled!! I don't think they completely understand that some of us have specific timelines in which classes need to be complete! I could have registered elsewhere and actually taken the class. I have also attended SCC in Scottsdale, and I really prefer this campus. The course offerings are endless, the faculty is helpful and approachable, and the campus is being renovated for the better! The library is large, with plenty of tables inside, outside, and another computer lab right across the hall. Free wifi for students, too. I've only had a couple of instructors that I didn't care for, but I will say, everyone speaks English perfectly! I have mostly really enjoyed my classes, and when I found myself getting bored, I picked a different major. I think that's what a lot of people do, and they should. The world doesn't need another next generation who hates what they do. So explore here, and find out what you do like. They have a great transfer program also. I am looking forward to attending ASU downtown in the future. I only go part time to school, so when I started, ASU downtown wasn't an option yet. Who knows what other great choices there are to come? I especially love the Fitness Center! Get college credit to work out? Yeah!! read more

It was a great experience while it happened. However, due to an error on my part, I was placed on Admin Hold for what was supposed to have been two semesters, but the hold did not lift until the end of my third semester. This prevented me from registering for classes I needed to get my degree, and properly graduating on time. (I did actually graduate on time, but due to what I believe to be a total breakdown in communication on the college's end, I did not get my physical diploma until almost a year after I graduated.) The professors were kind and helpful, the students were fun, and the overall vibe was nice. I met three of my best friends here. However, I do have quite a few bad memories tied to this place. If I ever go back to school, I won't come back to PVCC. read more

I would give 0 stars if i could. The admin at PVCC is extremely incompetent, ignorant and not helpful. My old counselor wasted my time and money and pushed my graduation date back and to add on, the new nursing counselor (her name is Maile) is doing the same and she is just as equally not helpful. I ask her which class at PVCC is equivalent to another pre req im required to take and she has absolutely no idea. I ask her to let me talk to someone who knows what they're doing and still nothing. On one of the voicemails she left me, she states that "she does not do well on follow up phone calls", yet her job is a college advisor... aka to follow up and help students out. I also emailed Maile recently about calling me and some questions I had regarding a program I am interested in and her responses were extremely short and not helpful and she even ignored most of my concerns. I highly advise not enrolling into PVCC as the counselors will not help you whatsoever (especially if you're going into nursing). And those were not even ALL of my bad experiences only a few! Definitely the worst school I have ever attended. read more

I have been going to "college" for 11 years now... yet I have no degree. I bet you are wondering how that is even possible. Maybe, like Van Wilder, I just like being in school (I don't, I hate it). When I signed up and paid for the annual GYM membership, I did not realize that 90% of the people who go there are seniors. They play oldies music so if you are under 65 years old, you may want to bring your ipod or mp3 player. (The younger staff does play modern music when they are on duty) Parking is NUTS after 9am during school hours. There is however, ample parking for seniors. They have like 30 reserved spots for them surrounding the fitness center. Since I paid for the year, I will go until the membership runs out, but will NOT renew. Many of these seniors treat this gym as a social function and stand/sit around and yap. Too bad many students do not take advantage of this gym. The machines are very good, plenty of cardio machines and staff on hand to help develop a training schedule. Many resources available that are underutilized in my opinion. read more

After startingmy adventures in Phoenix @ Scottsdale community college i learned the hard way that not everything in Scottsdale is grander . I love paradise. It appears to be very clean, and the staff is definitely more patient, friendly and professional. Vie got the lay out of this place down after just. 1 week. The library is big and quiet, plenty of easy to find bathrooms, lost of freebies and the teachers are all real teachers that speak normal english unlike scottsdale community college. read more

They didnt let me enroll because my highschool diploma was not from any schools in USA ! She answered me that the school I attended should sent them the transcript directly to them ! I asked her why so complicated she answered "to make sure its not fake" I really got offended! But i am glad I didn't get enrolled there! read more

Updates from 2 years ago: I have had some good professors especially with the higher level classes. Dr. Bains with organic chemistry I and II very step by step thorough approach. Dr. Doyle Bio II 182 Lots to memorize but very organized. I enjoyed his labs. His exams are all essay/ short answer. Dr. Hoyt Microbiology: he wants us to use complete sentences and write a full report at the end of the semester. Lots of work, but his tests are all essay / easy. (prolly cuz I'm good at regurgitating info and BSing) Certain professors weren't as organized or methodical as others. Their new KSC academic advising is the bomb (during the school day anyways). Fast, friendly and helpful. Downside: Schedules are not very accommodating for working students, esp since student services close so early. I like the CPA (center of performing arts) as they have very affordable productions throughout the year, at least for us students. read more

I attended a summer class here. My usual school is Scottsdale Community College, but PVCC has classes over a wider range of dates, which is convenient for me. The advisors - awesome! The cafeteria design - awesome. The cafeteria FOOD? - not so awesome. There's basically row upon row of fried chicken and french fries, alongside one pitiful bowl of lettuce. You can ask the chef to make you a hamburger. Personally, I always stick to the chicken and cheese quesadilla. It's the only good meal within 50 feet of the kitchen. The professors - I've only had one. He's okay. He doesn't have any online presence whatsoever and is a bit of a mess. But he's kind. And besides, one professor does not determine the quality of a school. We all know this. ;) Overall, I would attend PVCC again. read more

Love the school. Majority of the teachers are great, classes are small, quite a bit of variety. Parking is horrible, but its free. Food is expensive. Financial Office isn't worth much at helping students or being able to answer questions. But, this is college and with a little research on your own, most can figure out the Fafsa.gov website. Also be wary of the advisement office. They do an ok job, but if they aren't necessarily the best at guiding you to college degrees or explaining the difference of why some degrees may help you more in a particular field you'd like to enter. Overall though, loved the classes. I enjoyed going their (for the most part) and was able to retain a lot from the classes I took. read more

This is a find. I'm a UCLA grad and completely impressed with how much the teachers care for the students at PVCC. Honestly everything about this place has made me smile. I had the extreme privilege of being in two of Dr. Lois Roma-Deeley's Creative Writing classes. This community college is really a great place to take classes for high school credits. Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center is located nearby the college and I am happy with the wide variety of classes that students from AAEC are able to take. However, their Disability Resource Center could use an upgrade because they were not able to truly help me with explaining the accommodations that I needed to the ceramics professor. This is also applies to other classes that students with disabilities are not being given the help that they truly need. read more

From what I have experienced PVCC is accomodated with well rounded and fun educators. The staff here are always for the most part are willing to help you out. Many classes are available. NAU is at this particular location and can help you with 90/30 transfer to certain BA/BS degree programs. Awesome female soccer team. If you get books, buy them in advance is my nugget of wisdom from Amazon or other online purchasing places. So much less expensive. read more

Every single time I went to advising to pick my classes, they enrolled me in classes that had nothing to do with my major. It set me back TWO YEARS! Wasted time, money, and energy. Every time I asked them if they were sure these were the classes I needed to take and they said YES. And now guess what? Those credits do not transfer over to my major at ASU. These people TOLD ME TO MY FACE that I will graduate with these classes, and they don't even apply towards my major, and I have to start all over again somewhere else. I can't even begin to describe the frustration I felt. I am not the first student they have done this to either. Every time I complained about it to PVCC, I get the same response "oh that shouldn't have happened" yet it happens again and again. That's what happens when you hire 18 year olds as advisors and office employees . Go to MCC where they actually hire grown adults to help you. read more

Eh. I only went here because I got a scholarship. Let me say the Honors program is a joke. The advisors are rude and every person tells you different classes to take. The welcome center is just a bunch of college workers who order you to sit and wait for 30+ minutes just to speak to someone for 2 minutes. On the bright side, if you choose the right professors, you could get the best learning opportunities because of the passion in the subject they are teaching. I loved most of my professors. The people in Financial aid office don't care. I apply for fafsa 3 months before classes week before school starts i get dropped from my classes. The woman told me to put money down to keep my classes and next time take more responsibility and don't till the last min. Also they didn't give me my full refund from my grant but I was told that also my fault. read more

COUNSELORS ARE EITHER NON-EXISTENT OR THEY DON'T CARE. The admin here sucks and they don't care about you! Multiple times I would ask to set up an appointment to see a counselor and either they were "too busy" to help you set up an appointment, or someone at the front desk at the Welcome Center tried to help you with choosing classes. DO NOT DO THIS. THEY ARE NOT COUNSELORS EVEN IF THEY CLAIM TO BE. Last time I did this, I ended up taking a class I didn't actually need to take which was a waste of money and time. Finally one day the next semester I got to see a real counselor but even he had no clue what he was doing and recommended classes that had nothing to do with my major and weren't pre reqs either. PVCC will literally hire anyone to be a counselor. Do not trust them. Also the campus here is so outdated and old except for the cafeteria. Everything else looks like it's straight out of the 90's. Go to Mesa CC. Everything is new there and the counselors there rock and actually care about you. read more

Attended a performance of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" at the theater of PVCC at Union Hills and 32nd St last week. The theater is very nice and the grounds very attractive. This was true local community theater. The props and sets were very good. The live pit orchestra was a treat as most pro and semi pro troupes have gone to recorded music (yuk). The orchestra was also very good. Several of the actors were very good and some were in over their heads. Musicals are tough for local theater as we are not all gifted singers LOL. All in all this was a great performance if you enjoy community theater. Great efforts and a nice venue!! read more

I've been going to PVCC for awhile now & I absolutely love everything the school campus offers. There's good & not so good professors but that's everywhere you go now a days. Just gotta pick the right ones & you'll pass with flying colors. Honestly I'm glad I came to PVCC & now I'm doing the nursing CEP program with PVCC as well as ASU. So far so good & their pass rate is 100% so nothing can beat that :) read more

I am enrolled here simply to use the Fitness Facility and have not taken classes. That being said, the gentleman that provided my Student ID and parking pass was extremely friendly, helpful and a bit amusing. Everyone I have met that works at the Fitness Facility is extremely friendly and helpful. Their fitness facility might not be the fanciest one in town, but it is one of the best values.The only downside for me is that the fitness area is closed on school holidays. Hopefully, the current construction will be over soon and I'll get to check out the new building on the campus. I have yet to check out the library I have access to and hope to review that soon. read more

Went down to PVCC again today because when I was there last and filled out the paperwork to drop my classes they did not drop me. They instead sent notice to GI BILL that I had enrolled. So they have again wasted my time by forcing me to take the time to go back IN PERSON (yelp people that counts as direct contact). I am also now as a direct result of this direct contact event with PVCC going to have to spend more of my time fixing the issues their complete lack of professionalism and lack of ability to do their jobs properly and efficiently has caused me. read more
